    Been around with hifi gear for some time, Martantz, Philips, Canwell tubes, Canton, Pioneer ect. These speakers blow all past setups away. In room (bass reflex when well placed) hitting 35 Hz is nuts. The tweeters are very "airy" and give insane details. Thanks to DSP they also sound good on lower volumes. It will be very hard finding something better at this price range and even a bit above. A lot of people keep calling these PC speakers but they are not. These can be your main setup for the living room. Note, if you buy these, there is a break in period of at least 50 hours. I could hear mids/highs getting rounder and less sharp while bass extension increased and became more detailed. Also the differences between the EQ settings got more notable. Final note, if you hook them up to a TV, DVD player or other playback device using Optical input, make sure the TV, DVD or other player is set to PCM/Stereo output.

      Is the bass from S2000 MKIII adequate or equally powerful enough for movies / anime / TV series? How does it compare with Logitech Z906? I'm sure the sound quality is much better than the Z906 but I'm worried the bass may not be punchy enough for movie / anime / TV series consumption, and the problem is there is no output on the S2000 MKIII to add an additional subwoofer

    I have these speakers too. I agree with everything you said in this video. The sound quality is so good, especially when connecting to bluetooth. I can barley tell the difference between the wired and wireless connections. I’m not a huge fan of Bluetooth, I always notice a drop in quality but these speakers do it the right way. I'm so glad someone finally gave these a proper review. Bought mine last May and they've been amazing. I went through a bunch of other powered speakers before landing on these. Presonus, Swan, Kanto. None of them came close to the combination of build AND sound quality of the s2000 mkIII. Anytime I see someone with a room for speakers in their setup going out of the way to spent 300+ usd on a soundbar, I get sad. I feel like if you're going midrange and aren't in need of the low profile a soundbar utilizes, these are the only way to go. No sub is needed with them.

    I own a cheaper pair, the R1800T III, and they are fantastic. They are not available anymore but there are others from Edifier at the same price. My speakers have 35W per channel but they are still loud. They sound so good and the actual amplifier feel like is too strong for the speakers when using too much base. I also own a pair of headphones from Edifier , the W830BT Black. They have also a good quality but in order to have a really God like battery they sacrificed a bit of volume and base. I mean, for reg0ular music and gaming they are fine but if you like Skrillex these headphones won't do it justice. All in all Edifier are doing some good products and it's on the market for a while now I'm actually surprised to see here that people didn't heard of them.

    Hi, this is a great review!. I bought recently a pair and i´m very suprised about how they sound.
    The only drawback I found is that the vocals is not easyly distingsh (even with using that preset from the remote), I mean, the bass goes over it. I was trying to find an swet spot.
    Did you have that issue with your unit?, maybe they will tend to sound better with the time, or should I call the warranty? Thank you

    • @galagaxi
      @galagaxi 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Andy, these speakers have ~50 hours of play time to "break" and start sounding as they are build to. Also, you can try to set them to something like -2 bass and +3 treble from the knobs at the back of the main speaker. Or -3 and +2 may sound better in your room, try it.

    do I win anything with an upgrade from my brand new s2000 mkiii to s3000 pro (if it's a good bargain)? I do love pretty much everything about these little boomboxes. The only thing probably is that on volume over 35 I have to reduce bass due to the sound distortions (mostly on some rap and trap soundtracks), yet it doesn't annoy that much. So, what do you say?

  • @CinemaDemocratica
    @CinemaDemocratica ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I just bought these about two weeks ago and they're absolutely outstanding. Three things they do unusually well are imaging, detail resolution, and a dynamic musicality at low volumes. They're great for home theater and seriously impressive with all types of music, but they really shine with intimate jazz recordings, such as Bill Evans or Patricia Barber. I paid $300 USD for mine, NIB here in Cambodia, and at that price it's literally impossible to regret giving them a try. Highly, highly, highly recommended -- perhaps the most highly recommended object I have ever owned. It's a complete, near-audiophile-grade sound system for about the same cost as a midfi stand-alone DAC.
    A few notes for the company:
    One, these things strike me, personally, as not really suited for a desktop / "bookshelf" application; they're really quite large and heavy. For my two cents, they belong on monitor-style stands.
    Two, in addition to the non-IEC power cable, the speaker cable is also a fixed length, and frankly it's just way, way too long. I understand that there is a much higher risk of dissonance if someone comes up short, but for the size of the room that they would be best suited to (about 360cm across the front), there's a huge excess of speaker cable piled up beneath the slave, which invites RF and EMI interference.
    Three, with all due respect, the remote sucks. It's essentially illegible even in moderate lighting, and it doesn't respond very well. If you love these as much as I do, you'll quickly thank yourself for switching to a programmable universal such as those offered by Logitech.
    Four, they're ... kinda ugly, frankly. As another reviewer recently said, "People say they're pretty, and they are -- in the sort of house where people refer to the sofa as a 'davenport'." Truer words, an' all that.

    I’m interested in upgrading my Edifier R1900 tiii (T3). They had very good reviews back when they were released (15 years ago). They are my daily speakers, mainly for TV and music listening. I’m very interested in the S2000mk3 but I’m not sure how much better they will be compared to my actual speakers. I’m not much interested in DSP, Bluetooth, etc: mainly audio quality. Do you think the S2000mk3 are a worthy upgrade? Thanks!!

    • @matarg99
      @matarg99 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well, I have been using my new S2000 mk3 for some months. This are the main differences against r1900 t3: 1 Sound: S2000 mk3 have DSP and you can equalize the audio but with very natural presets. In “monitor” mode sound is flat and similar to r1900 t3. Main differences are with bass: much more present and deeper (5” vs 5,5” and bigger and heavier enclosure). Mids. are also better. Treble is also crispier and clearer. But sound is AWSOME in “Dynamic” mode. This mode blows your head! Speakers sound incredible in this mode (every owner of this speakers say the same!). 2 Sound customization: r1900 t3 only has bass selector. S2000 mk3 has bass and treble selector (I use them in 0). 3 Volume: S2000 mk3 sound much louder and clear at high volume. 4 Inputs: S2000 mk3 have much more inputs: Optic, Bluetooth, RCA, Coax, etc. I use the optic one with the TV and found it a very little better than RCA. 5 Look: I like more the low-profile black of the r1900 mk3 but S2000 mk3 look more luxury and expensive. 6 Extras: It has remote control. I don’t use it but is a bonus. Also, a small OLED screen that never use it. Conclusions: If you like to hear music, the S2000 mk3 are an excellent choice. You won’t regret.

Don't get me wrong, I love bass heavy tracks with untold amounts of bass, but even if all i listened to was classical and country (I listen to everything lol) I'd demand a sub regardless. Let the tweeter handle the highs, the woofers the mids and the sub the lows. Multiple woofers if the use-case allows ;)
      I'm sure they sound great on their own, but they'd sound even better if they didn't have to cover as broad a range of frequencies.

      @@AndrewH. I catch your drift but Edifier put a lot of DSP magic in these. For a two way bookshelf they have amazing low end. More, deeper, cleaner and detailed than my 10" Tannoy and Tannoy TS8. It's really nuts. Only a few actieve speaker brands are doing it right btw. When you connect a sub to a Vanatoo, it will cut the lower frequencies on the main speakers and let the sub cover the complete low range. To me that is the only correct way to go otherwise you end up with accumulation of the same lower frequencies.

    Nice Video as always. For the Product: It is a shame that you can not disable the DSP and DRC. Also a fixed Power Cord. For that Amount of Money a no-go (like non removable Batteries on Mobile Phones). Seems I need to keep looking for some decent, accurate and neutral Studio Monitors.

      The problem with things like multiroom, WiFi, streaming services etc. At the point they stop the support for firmware and app updates, you can throw all these extra options in the bin while you did pay for it. There are a lot of Audio Pro users who got devices like these on a sale, and after 2 years they where only left with Bluetooth and the main inputs as support (on the already bad and unstable software) on firm and software updates got canceled..... There are ways to hook these up to a Chromecast or other dedicated streamers for instance.

Ever tried to change song realizing your phone is charging in another room? wouldn't it be nice to just grab your ipad and take over "control".
      Bluetooth is fine for point og point connections. But it just doesn't work very well in a multi-room, multi-device environment.

Thanks!!

      Hi, I'm interested in your question. did you find out how much better they can be?

    • @matarg99
      @matarg99 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@0sunden0 Well, I have been using my new S2000 mk3 for some months.
