I was recently hacked and thankfully the situation has been resolved and I have been reimbursed, this is the first time I've ever dealt with hacker activity in my bank account. Is there any way I could possibly track said hacker and steal from them?
That's not a good idea because you don't know who you are dealing with. My advice will be simple - make sure that you keep your bank records safe and in case you suspect fraudulent activities, report to the appropriate authorities
@@SmartDepot very true, probably just allowed emotions to get the best of me seeing as I've never dealt with this before. Lost $430 but it has been replaced and therefore I didn't bother contacting law enforcement after I was reimbursed. Are there any precautions I could take or some anti-theft safeguards I could place on my account to prevent this from happening again?

The BVN registration portal is not that safe. The most important thing is to make sure that you do not give anybody you online banking details. Also, your bank registered phone number is very important. It can be used to receive one time password (OTP) to access your account. Keep your ATM cards safe and if possible, get a bank token for your transactions for added security.
Bro you have my subscription and like of course. Here in Belgium you don't have to ask for card reader they give it to you immediately when you open bank account. So to make payments or transferring money between accounts. You have to put your card into a card reader then you have extra pin or actually code of 6 digits. God bless you bro and your family

Your account can still be hacked using some banking channels. Most banks turns on alternative channels by default. So, this knowledge could be handy

Of course! Many internet or mobile banking app can use bank account as username. Then request for OTP when password is created to verify it is coming from the owner. Also know that money can be withdrawn from a bank account when someone snaps your ATM Card front and back and use all the information in the front and the CVV2 three digits number at the back

Your phone is very critical. If you lose your phone you must block your phone number immediately. You can also remotely wipe your phone too. However, blocking phone number might take some time and before that is done, any hacker can use your mobile number to log in to your online banking, claim they forgot password and request for password change and the OTP will be sent to the phone number. With that, they can wipe and account. If you don't have online banking, they can also use USSD banking to do the same
