Have you heard Julian Bream's rendition? Gohar's performance is undoubtedly accomplished but I personally prefer Bream's version. Do check it out.

A genius arrangement. Love the re-figuring at 4:15. John Williams gets away with playing this passage rasguerdo but lesser mortals often fail to make it work. Arpeggiating this phrase works perfectly. Bravo!!

Same music but two very different interpretations. Both are excellent versions and choosing one over another just depends on your own ear.

Beautiful performance Gohar! I first loved that piece in 1972 just after taking my first few classical guitar lessons. Cordoba continues to warm my heart.
Uma excelente interpretação que demonstra a admirável técnica de Gohar. Apenas entendo que o andamento em algumas partes poderia ser um pouco mais lento, oportunizando explorar mais recursos sonoros do instrumento. Sem querer estabelecer critérios comparativos, Córdoba executada por Julian Bream ainda permanece como a interpretação mais perfeita que já ouvi desta peça, reunindo virtuosismo e alma. No entanto, cabe aqui os parabéns à Gohar, pois trata-se de uma obra de difícil execução, principalmente na construção dos acordes, exigindo muita técnica da mão esquerda e ela foi primorosa. Obrigado.

The intro up to minute 2:20 is a mix between John William's and another arrangement I had that doesn't have transcription information. From minute 2:20 to about 5:20 is Williams with some fingering changes here and there. The rasgueado section I replaced with arpeggios after hearing Adam del Monte do it that way. From 5:20 to the end is strictly back to that other arrangement. I basically mixed the things I liked from both arrangements.
I use normal tension strings, Savarez Cantiga on the basses, and Augustine Regals on the trebles. Regals are a little higher tension than other brands marked "normal" but it's not as high as the strings marked "high tension". I hope that helps.

From what I’ve heard Bream usually makes his own arrangements and as far as I know they aren’t published :(
