Juan, keep in mind that sometimes people will put a thumb's down because they don't appreciate the classical guitar or that particular piece. They might not be thinking about the interpretation or technical skill. I think people often choose to watch a video without really knowing what to expect. Cheers

Before I came here, I listened to John Williams playing this piece. Technically flawless as always, but the wind in my dream seemed a bit chilly, like the one that the Brits are used to. Also; this is the best performance of this tremendously dynamic and diverse composition that is performed to perfection. Yep ! Again today ! Listened to D, Russell play it prior to (which for some odd reason is missing the non-tremolo intro measures !) I LOVE David Russell and really have no license to criticize him or any top flight musician. But I must say, none of the other players come up to Gohar's interpretation level..It just oozes with the highest dimension of mastery and expression I think even Barrios himself would agree.
The reason this is one of my favorite interpretations of this piece is that not only is it almost technically flawless, she seems to understand the flow of the piece with her rubato - I really feel the push and pull where it sounds natural. She doesn’t slow down or get quieter at every transition where it isn’t called for like other guitarists, and the second pass at each melody is always different from the first and refreshing. Imo neither does the piece call for a soft tone all the time just because it’s a tremolo melody and she really gets this.
She is a prodigy, her feelings and soul and intensity says it all. Impecable technique. Perhaps better than any other great player I’ve heard so far. Her right hand projection of sounds is insane...
I have lost count of how many times I came back to this video. I compared your rendition with other guitarists’ and concluded that yours is the best, the way Barrios intended, because your interpretation is the only one that evokes the emotions and images that I experienced when listening to Chopin’s nocturnes. Your “Un SUEÑO en la Floresta” becomes my most favorite piece of guitar music, including “Recurerdos de la Alhambra”.
