Just got done reading your tutorial on your blog, as someone researching and learning to play lots of new games I find it annoying when there are only the TH-cam video, because I just need a quick reference. The combination of a readable and a video tutorial is really nice!
Great video! Really quick and helpful! Of course this is a brand new game, so we can't really know for surewhat to expect, but what are some kinds of ways you'd be interested in seeing these basic rules being BROKEN? For example, I really like how a spoiled card changes how only the water stat matters!
The QR codes are used to scan each individual card into your database of digital ownership! Every single QR code is unique, and once you have scanned it, nobody else can scan it. Once you own a card digitally, you are able to sell and trade the card via the online marketplace as well as access "print on demand" for that card, allowing you to print new official copies of that card.
So far, it seems all the factions will be viable competitively! There are so many options for each faction that leads us to believe all the factions will be able to hold their own in a competition setting!
I like the bright and colorful artwork and the way the game plays feels different. But I've heard there may not be that much of a competitive scene for the game. Is there a competitive aspect and support for the game at launch or is it meant to be more casual?
The great thing about Altered is that it can be both! It lends really well to casual play, but even with the demo decks we are using here at the store, there is a level of complexity that brings out some pretty strong competition! We feel that with full deckbuilding available, the competitive side of Altered will only get stronger and more robust.
Personally, as the one writing this reply, I am a Muna fan! At the store, we have a wide variety of favorite factions already! It's fun to see how each faction speaks to different people.
Congratulations darthpanda0! You are the winner for our first giveaway! When you are ready, please send an email to customerservice@gamersguildaz.com or create a ticket in the Gamers Guild Discord server to claim your set of 6 Altered Starter Decks! (Please be ready to prove you are the account owner)
Currently there are just three adventure cards with the demo decks provided during the roadshow. We don't have much information on future plans for the adventure cards quite yet, but stay tuned!
The same as the Hero! You have a Hero expedition and a Companion expedition, represented as separate sections on either side of your Hero card. For example if you only played cards in your Companion expedition, only your Companion would be able to advance.
Limited rarity slots make it really hard, so we totally get it! The biggest recommendation we can offer is to analyze what your goal with your deck build is and try to align the rares and uniques with that goal. If you are focusing on "Anchored" for example, it may be more beneficial to cut one of your rares and replace it with a rare/unique that uses "Anchored" effectively (Sneezer Shroom for example)
So my question is how much should I order? My real question is are there demo days planned where I or my wife and I can try out the game before committing heavily?
And to answer the first question, if you get any product, get the Kickstarter available boxes or cases. The EV because of the stretch goals is insane and the specialty promotional cards are just 🤌
Its interesting to me how many new games incorporate a "fixed" mana system to avoid screw and flood, where all of your cards are essentially MDFCs. Personally I like the tension of mana/screw and flood, but apparently designers see this as the optimal design framework. Is Altered amenable to Limited gameplay? Is it draftable or capable of being played in a Sealed style format?
Thanks for the quick tutorial; I knew within the first minute the game wasn't for me (or my group) so no need to buy starters. Saved me $30+!

I really need to sit down for a demo for this game.
I like how you can win in just one category to advance your expeition markers
We have plenty of demo decks available at the store for use! Come out and get a game in soon!
Can't wait for my KS! What do you plan to celebrate release?
Very clear explanation of the rules! 👍 Great motion design!
Thanks for the opportunity!
Hey! I'm looking forward to seeing more and more content about Altered on your channel 🙂
Awesome video, looking forward to the new game!
Awesome quick explanation! Fantastic intro video💪🔥
Great video, really dig the visuals and the short form video in comparison to other tutorials.
My question do I get your first Moonlight Jellyfish? 💞

Love the artwork on this game
Woo hoo! Can't wait to see these decks in person. I wonder which faction will be the strongest?
Too soon to tell what the meta will be, but each faction has so much variety and potential to do great!
great video!
i do have to ask what the QR codes on the cards are for? is it just a way to keep track of what cards you have?

Hello, thank you for the video !
Do you think all the factions would be played in competition?
So far, it seems all the factions will be viable competitively! There are so many options for each faction that leads us to believe all the factions will be able to hold their own in a competition setting!

Can't wait for the release....Will this be available at gencon?
They will be hosting play at Gen Con! Both demos and sealed/limited formats!
Love the game! How often are expansions coming?
While we don’t know the release schedule yet, we do know that one large set and two smaller sets approximately every four months: 3 sets a year 😁
We do know the schedule: september, january, may...
@@ericlazure wonderful, thanks for the clarification and additional information 😁
Follow! Like! And now the question! Which faction do you prefer?
Personally, as the one writing this reply, I am a Muna fan!
At the store, we have a wide variety of favorite factions already! It's fun to see how each faction speaks to different people.
Art style looks cool as heck! Do they have alt arts to collect?
They do! The Kickstarter edition boxes contain alternate arts of many of the available cards!

Great thank you!!! You're the best!
Are the three adventure cards always the same each game, or are their multiple types that a player will select when building their deck?
Currently there are just three adventure cards with the demo decks provided during the roadshow. We don't have much information on future plans for the adventure cards quite yet, but stay tuned!
So I understand how the hero advances. How does the companion advance?
The same as the Hero! You have a Hero expedition and a Companion expedition, represented as separate sections on either side of your Hero card. For example if you only played cards in your Companion expedition, only your Companion would be able to advance.
Any tips for deckbuilding? How do you know that a rare is worth its slot?

How many cards are in this first set?
18 heroes, 162 commons, 324 rares, countless unique variations of the 109 characters
How many sets per year are planned for altered?
One large set and two small sets a year 😊
One large set and two smaller sets per year. 😊
Why does everyone seem so obsessed with the Moonlight Jellyfish card???
Because it is adorable!
What happens in the morning phase?
In the morning phase, you'll ready all of your exhausted cards, draw two cards, and convert up to one card from your hand into a mana orb!
You make breakfast
Its interesting to me how many new games incorporate a "fixed" mana system to avoid screw and flood, where all of your cards are essentially MDFCs. Personally I like the tension of mana/screw and flood, but apparently designers see this as the optimal design framework.
Is Altered amenable to Limited gameplay? Is it draftable or capable of being played in a Sealed style format?
It is! They are actually hosting limited format events at Gen Con for Altered!
Hey, thank you for your work!
