I havent seen any videos of the 1989 Tour since I found out it was being deleted, I got mad and I still dont know if there are videos out there eheh still, I agree that it is her happiest era, but talking about music, compositions and even attitude (and outfits lol) I dont like this era at all.
Here's the whole speech she says in the beginning :) I’m lucky enough to get to get to do a lot of meet and greets and get to meet you guys. And when I do a lot of the time I meet a lot of people who write songs or who wanna write songs and the number one question I get asked a lot is; “how do you know what to write a song about? Where do you start?” And for me, I guess the answer is--I guess the easiest answer, the most simple answer is think about how many things do you want to say to someone who you have been too scared to say it to them because you’re scared of their reaction to what you would tell them? Over the course of the day we get hundreds, if not thousands things we wish we could say if we were brave enough or if we didn’t have to see the reaction, or hear the reaction or response to saying what we actually feel--about someone, about a situation. Writing a song is kinda like saying what I really wanted to say to the person--whatever you wanted to say the most and being able to push pause on the moment and not having to see that person’s response. It’s like putting a message in a bottle, whatever you wanted to say, whether it’s saying “I really love you” or “I am still really heartbroken” or “what you said really hurt me”, or “you make me happier than anyone in the world and I’ve told you before” or “you’re my best friend and I never want to lose you”. All those things. It’s like saying any of that, putting it in a bottle throwing it into the ocean, maybe they’ll see it, maybe they won’t. Maybe it’s a really cowardly way to love your life--but maybe it’s also the bravest way you can live your life. I haven’t really decided which one. This is a song, that was all the things I wanted to say to somebody but instead I just wrote this song because everything about this person i just couldn’t forget, you know, I just remembered it all too...well.
I will never understand why this wasnt ever released as a single.. I'm convinced it would have won several Grammys in its own right. Its a work of lyrical genius.. She is a wordsmith and a poet of the highest quality.. This might the best song she has ever written wrt lyrics..
I think it’s cause the song made her feel really emotional. Having it as a single would mean she would often sing it, and I don’t think she wanted to do that
Honestly I feel like the studio got involved too much in choosing single releases I think it was criminal with speak now there were way to many great songs that got ignored and never got a release as a single and it continued with Red!
This song is a masterpiece.. this song really defines what the RED album is all about... intense love, a love that is red, that you can't forget it, 'cuz you remember it all too well!
Just discovered Taylor Swift in full this year and I am so happy. It is equally surprising to me that a young woman could move me so much. I am 76 years old and my life is so much better just for the beautiful music I hear from this beautiful woman.
She does very inspiring pep talks. And she's a BRILLIANT performer. I went to see her in Hyde Park in London. 26th JUNE 2015. Best night of life. Such an inspirational star.
I Wish I Was There, Singing That Song With The Crowd. Shouting Taylor Swift's Name. Clapping My Hands. That Would Be The Most Enchanting Day Of My Entire Life!
Here we are in 2022 being graced by Taylor Swift releasing the full 10 minute long Taylor's Version of All too Well that Big Machine never deserved to have it in its entirety. Thank you Taylor Swift for never forgetting your worth. Go watch her version now! It's so so good, its a masterpiece!
it makes me sad how this never hit the radio. what a beautiful song that shouldve been heard by more than just the true swifties. all the radio wants is pop, and upbeat songs. but sometimes you have to look past that and look for the truly extraordinary songs. this is one of them.
LYRICS I walked through the door with you, the air was cold, But something 'bout it felt like home somehow and I Left my scarf there at your sister's house, And you still got it in your drawer even now. Oh, your sweet disposition and my wide-eyed gaze. We're singing in the car, getting lost upstate. The Autumn leaves falling down like pieces into place, And I can picture it after all these days. And I know it's long gone, And that magic's not here no more, And I might be okay, But I'm not fine at all. 'Cause there we are again on that little town street. You almost ran the red 'cause you were looking over me. Wind in my hair, I was there, I remember it all too well. Photo album on the counter, your cheeks were turning red. You used to be a little kid with glasses in a twin-size bed And your mother's telling stories about you on a tee ball team You tell me 'bout your past, thinking your future was me. And I know it's long gone And there was nothing else I could do And I forget about you long enough To forget why I needed to 'Cause there we are again in the middle of the night. We dance around the kitchen in the refrigerator light Down the stairs, I was there, I remember it all too well, yeah. Maybe we got lost in translation, maybe I asked for too much, And maybe this thing was a masterpiece 'til you tore it all up. Running scared, I was there, I remember it all too well. Hey, you call me up again just to break me like a promise. So casually cruel in the name of being honest. I'm a crumpled up piece of paper lying here 'Cause I remember it all, all, all too well. Time won't fly, it's like I'm paralyzed by it I'd like to be my old self again, but I'm still trying to find it After plaid shirt days and nights when you made me your own Now you mail back my things and I walk home alone But you keep my old scarf from that very first week 'Cause it reminds you of innocence and it smells like me You can't get rid of it, 'cause you remember it all too well, yeah 'Cause there we are again, when I loved you so Back before you lost the one real thing you've ever known It was rare, I was there, I remember it all too well Wind in my hair, you were there, you remember it all Down the stairs, you were there, you remember it all It was rare, I was there, I remember it all too well
"Time Wont Fly Its Like Im Paralyzed By It, I Wanna Be My Old Self Again, But Im Still Try'n To Find It, After Plaid Shirt Days And Nights When You Made Me Your Own, Now You Mail Back My Things And I, Walk Home Alone." -- I Guess She's Right Everytime She's Saying, " I Think, The Worst Part Of It All Is Not Loosing Him, It Was Loosing ME." .. Its Really Relatable Because Its Funny How We Cry For Someone Who We've Lost... But We Never Realize That Maybe It Should End That Way, Because He/She Isnt Worthy Of Our Love... And Today, I Or We (with the same case with me) Should Stop Chasing The Wrong One, Because The Right One Wont Run.. **Sorry For My English. Lol.
She was going to cry, then she did that thing with her hair and tried to control herself. When she was sure she can handle this, she looked to the public and put a fake smile saying in her mind “the show has to continue...” Honestly, I hate the fact that she wanted to cry all the time in the Red Tour singing “All Too Well”. It totally broken my heart, 'cause in 2013 Harry Styles broke up with her and I know this song is dedicated to other person, but she was really sad all the Tour 🤔😟 even though she had good moments, it also makes me feel mad the idea that she prefer 1989 than this beautiful albums: TS, Fearless, Speak Now & Red.
It makes sense to me that she prefers 1989 because it's the era where she finally founds happiness and she realised she didnt need a guy to do so. 1989 is about being happy and confident. It doesnt mean its less important and meaningful :)
the way this song has always moved me is phenomenal. even after all these years it's still a masterpiece. I cannot wait for the extended version this year. my favorite TS song and one of my favorites ever. coming from a 43yr m.
Gosh even after being 8 years since this song came out it still gives me chills every damn time I listen to it. Such an amazing song and will forever be the best song she's written.
So many specific lyrics from this song are all too relatable for me. I feel like this song tells my own story so perfectly and it means so much to me. I can't wait for the extended version on Red Taylors version in a few months.
It is great listening to a song while you're thinking to the person behind it. It makes you think that "uh, this was what happened" or "oh that was the reason". And you just gotta listen and watch her pronounce every word with soul because she means it and the song she's telling is based on a true story. And I think that is so amazing.

I know right omg 😂
I like the 1989 tour over Red because she was upset in this point in her life.
I havent seen any videos of the 1989 Tour since I found out it was being deleted, I got mad and I still dont know if there are videos out there eheh still, I agree that it is her happiest era, but talking about music, compositions and even attitude (and outfits lol) I dont like this era at all.
+ana hunt you can watch the 1989 tour live :)
+ana hunt Now you can watch New Romantics
Shes not just singing a song, she's singing a story
okay?
sappho well true, but sometimes "artists" don't sing it like they're telling a story so maybe that's what she meant lol
Exactly!

You tell me 'bout your past, thinking your future was me.
And I know it's long gone

After plaid shirt days and nights when you made me your own
Now you mail back my things and I walk home alone
But you keep my old scarf from that very first week
'Cause it reminds you of innocence and it smells like me
You can't get rid of it, 'cause you remember it all too well, yeah

Back before you lost the one real thing you've ever known
It was rare, I was there, I remember it all too well

Down the stairs, you were there, you remember it all
It was rare, I was there, I remember it all too well

The intro is so sad, I wish original was like that...
i wish the original was done on piano...
actually the original like first one she wrote supposedly was about 10 or 11 minutes long and was done on the piano!!!
jessica murray i didn't know she wrote it on piano! but i did know it was around 10 minutes. shame the studio one isn't like that.
jessica murray Haveyou ever listened to the original version? Is it on youtube?
Alexa Provido Taylor never released the 10 minute version of this song, but I hope she does one day!
Lorde is right! Taylor Swift is too perfect! So flawless. Please perform #alltoowellatthegrammys and shut all the critics up!
Shivam Murari she did and i am so proud.
Wow, who knew this comment would come true? And her grammy performance of this song became one of the absolute favorites by swifties. So proud of her.
"Time Wont Fly Its Like Im Paralyzed By It,

flawless isn't even enough to describe everything about this
IT is really amazing that she play the piano at the same time she singing...
GRAMMYS performance. I'm going to die from happiness. OMFGGGGG
She changed her speech, I like it!... unlike America, it seems like the crowd is really listening and not just screaming like crazy all the time
It's true that the reason we are still hurting from a broken relationship is we still remember it all too well.
She was going to cry, then she did that thing with her hair and tried to control herself. When she was sure she can handle this, she looked to the public and put a fake smile saying in her mind “the show has to continue...”
