      That is what they'd want you to think, but it's honestly a combination of pride and prioritizing one-off molds for licensed themes more than anything
      Pride in that they may view their current inventory as 'flawless' with parts like this being 'unnecessary' and solvable through more convoluted means, with the second point being why things like recolors of the hotly-debated mixel joints haven't seen release
      They're a multi-billion company, of course they can release them in multiple colors on top of fixing part strength, they just chose not to in favor of appeasing the bigger fish they coattail (your Disneys, Universals, Nintendos, etc)
      It's been really weird to be honest, to see lego take mega bloks' old direction of super specific one-off molds (a small, useful minority of which lego has even translated over to their system, but would never admit to outright) while mega has inversely sobered up and shifted it's focus towards understanding an streamlining it's in-house system, going so far as to reviving dead molds to avoid the single-use hyperspecifics of the past

      There’s nothing that would cause this design to be unstable. I made fifteen of these years ago for my Toa and Nuva (plus a couple extras) only with axle connectors instead of pins so I didn’t need to replace the gearbox. They’re no more unstable than the tow balls with axles or pins, or any other Mixel socket joint. Lego just doesn’t invest in new system/technic elements that aren’t aesthetic. It’s such an obvious counterpart piece to the existing tow balls that I’m disappointed still hasn’t been made official.

    • @Dovarcraft
      @Dovarcraft 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      GoBricks make excellent brick and technic elements, in a lot of(probably most) cases with better quality than Lego themselves, so i doubt its due to quality control.

      @Ankh_The_Artist 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@SchlelkohovI was with you until you tried to say mega bloks is doing something better than Lego. There's a difference between being too poor to afford Lego and thinking they are genuinely worse. And if you think they're worse you're probably delusional

      @@Ankh_The_Artist Mega upstaged them at making spongebob and ninja turtle sets, and their system for customizing minions was leagues above the designs lego has out on shelves right now, Kre-o too had trolls sets before lego which lego borrowed ideas from like the cloth cutouts while not adapting the real hair elements that made them function as troll dolls
      Lego as a company began as a knockoff of the american-based building system kiddiecraft, but they've made many improvements and innovations since then
      Why then can't rival companies that are just as legitimate a business as lego get the credit they deserve?

    I use the method at 1:19 for my Self Moc, since he uses a Metru torso. But to make it more rigid, strip out the gears from inside entirely, and use the (copy pasted from Brinklink name) 'Technic, Axle and Pin Connector Angled #4 - 135 degrees', as it fits perfectly with the angles the shoulder socket holes are in the torso. Anyway, just stumbled across this video by chance, and enjoyed it. Might buy those pieces when my next paycheck arrives lol

    Having a tow ball on a 2 long axle piece to go in the chest, and a tow socket with a 1 long axle for the arm would be the best combination. I noticed in your setup how the socket rotated freely, which I believe would be an inconvenience. Sigh why do all these cool mods require a bricklink account and god knows what else instead of being able to make it with parts from the official sets. Can someone "link" me to the ball and axle part? since OP has already provided the link for the socket one. Indeed, I see this as a less invasive alternative to the ball and "hand" part but as one commentor stated I am afraid that it'll be less reliable. Should do anyway.

    Turn the bgm down, and i don't think it needs to be something so intense. It sounds like you're shouting over rock music. Because you're shouting over Rock music, to be fair.

      Duly noted. Didn’t know Genesis sound font could be mistaken for rock music lmao

      @@OSSOYTIt's a pun based on it being a rendition of Wily Fortress 1 from Megaman, or, Japanese, Rockman, but also the music for those games is inspired by rock music, too, and I was joking on the classic trope of shouting over rock music.
