What's 1 new change you would like to see in the next 10 years?

Shorter seasons and fines for load management
@@suryakartikyeah, I agree with this one
@@superguy111fax bro ppl should really stop doing it so the playoffs will actually get interesting
Steph Curry's popularity and plays that paved the way for guards to become elite threats beyond the arc, has generated even more revenue for the NBA.
Around the Globe, people who were not physically gifted to match the previous standards of the game has provided them increased opportunity by emulating his playstyle. They were now reached and influenced, resulting to an increase in the popularity of the NBA among countries where Basketball is played passionately.
nailed it on the head
10 years ago I couldn't imagine how the game is being played today
personally steph is top 5
YES SIRRRRR YOU ARE THE BEST
All time???
Cap at best top 7 but he is is top 4 in impact on the League behind Kobe Michael lebron
All time, he hasn't surpassed magic for me. Mj, lebron, kateem, magic in the top 5 for sure. Then Kobe and the rest of the guys, so it's close
@@MrE_Magic couldn’t shoot Steph is Top 5 all time he changed the game of basketball.
The she-ee-eesh guys is killing me. Good shit!
Warriors started the 3 point meta. Took awhile, but the league caught up.
Whichever team starts a new meta will be the next dynasty
Dirk was never considered a center, he was a PF. For example The year they won the title Tyson Chandler was the center
With more people who aren’t 6’7 or taller being able to play, because of the three point shooting the game is actually able to expand! This is great for the game having a larger talent pool!
I love how he always roasts Dillon Brooks😂
*dynasty :D
I really enjoyed the video Man, thanks for the quality content 🙏🏽🙏🏽
love your stuff man
LOVE YOUR VIDS BRO
I honestly think the most thing that has changed in the NBA is three point shooting and money. Like what hoop reports said how kobe bryant was the most highest paid player in 2013 and now how gordan haward gets as much money as kobe did in 2013. Also the shooting like before the NBA only had like 5 or 6 guys that would shoot like atleast 6 or more threes but now its like centers shooting more threes then being in the post. 😂😂😂
Well my last new truck cost $12k. Now it's $50k.
Favorite TH-camr
10 years ago I was in my rookie season.
Today I am still in my rookie season....damn 2K
10 years ago I was a rookie fan, now a veteran fan
I watched the Bulls v Knicks playoff series from 1992 last week.
An epic series with so much physicality, taunting, flagrant fouls which were normal fouls back then...
Its a massive difference. Mostly half-court sets, post ups, and mid-range. Scores in the 90's at full time. Crazy.
I actually like 90s basketball more than present basketball
@@SourPatatao0930 90s basketball is more like a 1vs1 because of illegal defense and more of a wrestling than an actual basketball because of defense that they allow that time, most of the time low score also. I'll like the now because players is more creative and skilled. The defense also better, less iso/1vs1 because the center/forward can camp now near the rim and can send double anytime without penalizing it,
@@Oragon-ld1of "The defense also better" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣Less iso? Bro tell me you a casual without telling me you a casual.
@@roboninja3194 Then prove it is not. Are you just watching now? Yes the defense is better unless you categorize that holding, punching, elbowing, wrestling as a part of the defense. There was also illegal defense before which you cannot camp on the rim, or leave a player without guarding them, now they allow that. Thus, it will allow to easily double/triple team a very great offensive player.
Try to watch those old games, lots of 1on1 and most of teams using it. Now they still using it a lot but they also emphasized ball movement and 3pt shots.
I think you just don't know or not watching basketball. Low scoring, which is common on those old games, does not equate to a great defense. It may also because of lesser offensive player.
Really interesting video! 👍👏
Back on track! 😉
dirk was a PF his whole career if im not mistaken.
NBA needs to widen the court to stop the tip-toeing between the 3-point line and the sideline. Often there are several out-of-bounds calls per game due to this. Size 26 feet just don't fit that tiny space! Widening the court would also eliminate the weird dog-leg in the 3-point line.
The distance between the 3 point line and sideline is 90cm (or 3 feet for Americans) which only appears small due the TV camera angle. If you meet anyone with feet so large they won't fit in that space you should probably climb back down the beanstalk.
@@AndyPresto75 The NBA court is the same width as a high school court - 50 feet. The numerous corner out-of-bounds calls prove that men with size 22 shoes need larger court dimensions than kids with size 9 shoes. Perhaps the best benefit to widening the court however, would be eliminating the bizarre dogleg in the 3-point line. In one game, it even decided the outcome: th-cam.com/video/t1xyH7iI3cE/w-d-xo.html
4:33 I was cracking up when he said Dillon dynasty brooks
😂😂😂faxx
4:31 always gets me😂
im glad they added flop penalty
w like always
How do you make your thumbnails ?
The biggest change besides play style/ 3 pt shooting is the player contracts and control over management. Every couple of weeks someone signs “the biggest contract in NBA history”
The whole world is unrecognizable from 10 years ago
Pick and rolls from half court😂😂😂😂
Boy am I glad Steph didn't listen. 😅😂🎉🎉❤❤
Re watching this randomly i now remember why I blocked you from my timeline 😂😂😂 that dirk komment still has me....
Does the goat reply
Inflation can't compete with iconic moments.
The fact it took 30 years for people to understand that a 40% 3pts shot is as good as a 60% 2 pt shot is kinda insane tbh. Players like Nash or Stockton should have been shooting lights out, but because old heads were saying that a PG shouldnt shoot a lot they were not shooting that much, it's kinda sad.
I'm glad we're in the analytic era because even if watching players spamming the 3pt shot can be a bit boring at least there is a logical reason for them to do that.
The defense will catch up at some point anyways, like everytime.
For the defense to catch up they gotta stop with all these phantom fouls. It’s hard to play defense now cuz every slight contact warrants a foul
@@user-gm5gc1be4wthen how to guards draw a foul?
They are not strong. Should they not get calls?
@Herzeder Bro it's 33% from 3 is the same as 50% from 2. 99% of players in the NBA are not shooting 60% from 2. And 36 players shot 40% from 3 last season out of 450 players. Then you have guys like Sam Hauser on that list who played 15 mins a game, shot 4.2 threes per game, and made 1.8. Meaning his % is good but he's not shooting enough.
New height of hoops
The dollar value is cut in half every 7-10yrs (pending inflation rates) so $30M in 2013 is only worth $15M in 2023
3pt definitely on the rise & they may add the 4pt play like some foreign leagues have.
Strategy for big men have definitely changed
I think this decade is at it's PEAK of 3pt Era, after 10years it will come back to the basic/fundamentals as Steph and Klay both retired..
Nah
For salary nominal values, you do need to account for inflation by industry. So which player is the actual one paid the same as Kobe, after Kobe's 2013 salary is adjusted?
It's amazing how innocent he looks in that first picture.(Behold I send you out as Sheep amongst Wolves) Now he worth 1/2 Billion dollars and a new brand logo that looks like three 6's....go find it🤔
6:17....... that's a list of PF not centres 😅😅
The NBA office jas changed the rules to spped up the pace to produce more scoring.
More scoring is more exciting to watch, so the audience tunes into more games.... equalling more NBA $$$$.
Except less people have been tuning it. The ratings have been awful.
You forgot Gordon Hayward wasn’t a role player until the injuries he was all star maybe (big maybe) even star caliber player
Man forgot about one of the most watched sports in the word the first 5 secs into the video, football aka "soccer"
Practically same concept than the second video of this channel which hit 500 views
I did enjoy the game before than now.
Didn't take into account inflation when comparing salaries 10 years apart.
I feel like the salary cap should be $100 mil.
Only a superstar should make $20 mil a year.
$15 mil a year for all stars.
$10 mil a year for role players.
If they want to make more money, they should look elsewhere.
That right there I believe this can prevent players from being overpaid.
So you would rather the owners pocket all the revenue. NBA contract are as a result of negotiations
Wow
That’s Steph Curry for you, off ball movement and 3 pointers were introduced to the league by him. He changed what being a PG meant
Big facts however the 3 point line been there for a long time. Curry just revolutionized it permanently for all players coming in the league for generations to come
@@iricmessing7757 No one thought you could consistently shoot 3s though. He was shooting 3s in high volume with high percentages. Which forced defenders up. And trailing the 3 ball players.
Tyler segeen lol
That's it. I am telling my boss I'm underpaid.
You're right about the fact that it's changed a lot in past 10 years. But what about last 5?
Since modern tech has been in basketball, don't u think we've plateaued?
Yes
Why were players faces blurred LMAO
"For some reason Dirk wasnt a Center"
because he wasnt. he was a Power Forward. franchise players like him can claim whatever position they want to play in their respective teams
I played NBA 2K before the NBA became 2K
NHL had salary cap for season 😢
The NFL is slowly turning into what the NBA used to be.
Nba needs a contract structure for players based on performance, stats and post season performance.
So many average players make far too much for what they produce.
Each contract has qualifiers. That's why there are max contracts which come in play when certain parameters are met
In 10 years must be screen on enemy court
No subtitle
Side note: I would say soccer has surpassed hockey in America’s favorite sports
Basketball is the armpit of American sports.
0:00 There is another
Jaylen Brown your next video Hoop Reports 🙏🙏🙏
Don’t forget they gave curry that b.s 40 million for 4 year contract
Gordon Hayward ROLE PLAYER ? 😅😂😅😂😅😂
0:46 ik this is a completely diff convo but this essentially means Lebron is better than MJ bc of how rapidly the game has evolved from the 90s and 2016 GSW are better than the 96’ bulls. It’s just simple sport evolution, this happens is every other sport but idk y basketball is the only one who holds on to the past
Wait last time I checked the MLS exists, so there’s 5 professional sports leagues in America not 4
🤓
Lol
Comparing Hockey to Basketball is ludicrous.
Unless your country is cold and icy for much of the year, no one cares about hockey. Same with the Winter Olympics.
In Australia, I meet people every week that watch the NBA and we talk about it. In 15 years I've met one person who follows the NHL.
You didn't mentioned Karl Anthony Townes...
He changed the game, right? 😅
Wild interview 😂
CURRY=GOAT
Gary Payton with the flush... Goes right at Bane... GP are you with me
Absolutely NONE of the "tall guys" you're talking about have "guard skills"
Dirk has always been a Pf… hence the need for Shawn Bradley* and Tyson chandler.. you hella casual
Great video but you BUTCHERED Seguin badly.
to me, the players have gotten so skilled that the game has gotten less entertaining to watch
Do adjust for inflation
Adam silver changed the NBA into a Barbielandia.
You act like 30 million in 2013 wasn't worth the same as 48 today🙄 and what about Mike making 25 mill a year in 1997
Dirk was never a center. The fact that he played in the midrange and not posting at the block is one if the reasons he was never a center. They would have Tyson Chandler and other big bodies do that work down low.
"Dirk was considered pf for a reason" 😂😂 hell yes he is brother he can't play the center.
Basically you can't just be big anymore. you have to be a hooper
In terms of money: you really ought to have adjusted for inflation. Kobe's $30M in 2013 dollars would be about $39-40M in 2023 dollars. Salaries have still gone up a lot but not as much as you say. (But NHL salaries have actually gone down in real terms.) And using Gordon Hayward as an example is unfair: he gets a big salary because he had gotten a big long-term guaranteed contract when he was still a very good player.
Leave Dillion Brooks alone 😡, he's a Rockets player now and i have to support him
The Lakers play like 2013 to beat the warriors in second round
players could survive on 100k a year. they dont need millions. they arent special because they got paid.
Lol it's all the Steph curry effect
I fell like that's going to be the downfall of the NBA because if all they do is shoot from like 46 feet eventually that would get boring meaning less viewers and less money.
I dont see that becoming a reality. Even with the game spreading out and players shooting from further away than ever. People today are still completely enamored by insane athleticism and physical dominance that it will continue to be a staple in the sport. Giannis or even a young guard like SGA aren’t losing their roster spot because they can’t shoot.
brudda 30 mil in 2010 is 41 mil in 2023
I wouldn't call it evolving. It's devolved into a 3 pt contest that is incredibly boring to watch. There is no defense. And the refs blatantly help out certain teams. It's trash compared to 10 yrs ago.
It was taken over by Nosferatu
Dude players have always earned more money overtime… guys now are gettin what Jordan got thru his whole playing career the money part is known
x
You mentioned everything but defense. If the NBA so great now, why are the ratings so low all time Lowe’s? And another thing the three-point shot is good except when you miss him. I have seen so many games where the other team can’t make a three pointer and yet they keep taking them. The NBA today is just following trends. The trend that started on TH-cam. Where are you see his highlights. No one watches the full game anymore. He just watch the highlights.
I guess you didn’t see the views didn’t the nba playoff have his highest rating since years and I mean years lmao
Fine say nuggets and Miami was boring but jokic was so good
But lakers and warriors views was at a all time high
