This show is top tier for Marvel.. Season 1 started kinda slow but ended with quite a bang, and season 2 so far is even better 👍 Also, episode 5 intro music is the best in all the MCU..
Hey, Emme! The bureaucratic scenes in the elevator reminded me of Terry Gilliam's "Brazil"! Bureaucracy run amok! Infinity Stones as office paperweights was the best gag! It certainly sobered up Loki. The animated orientation video was reminiscent of the animated lab tour video in "Jurassic Park". D.B. Cooper was actually Loki engaged in an adolescent prank! Loved Loki reviewing his thread of life to its end. The TVA is from "Thor" comics. I liked this episode as mostly being a two-hander between Hiddleston's Loki and Wilson's Mobius. Mobius is from the comics. A Moebius strip is an impossible shape that loops back on itself. The biggest reveal in this episode is that the magistrate played by Gugu Mbatha-Raw is Ravonna, a name well-known to comic readers! I wonder what happens during resets and redlines? In the comics, Loki has appeared as both a woman and a child! Will this series show us those sides of Loki?
Random tidbit. The flashback to loki jumping out of the plane is reffering to the story of D.B. Cooper. A man who highjacked a plane, demanded money, got the money, and then jumped feom the plane, never to be seen again. Nobody knows still who Cooper was. Hence perfect opportunity to say it was Loki lol
This was an excellent episode and a strong start to the series. It also did a great job of developing Loki's character, showing us a more vulnerable and introspective side of him. The Time Variance Authority (TVA) was created by Walt Simonson in the pages of Thor #371 (October 1986). Simonson has said that he was inspired to create the TVA by his love of bureaucracy and desire to have a character who could explain all of the complexities of the Marvel multiverse. The creators of the Loki TV series have said that they were drawn to A Clockwork Orange because it is a story about a character trying to find his own identity and free himself from the constraints of society. This is something that Loki can relate to, as he has always been an outsider and has struggled to find his place in the world. I think the creators of Loki did a great job of blending the influences of Felix the Cat and Mr. DNA to create Miss Minutes. The blue-mouth gum in Loki feels like a nod to this old comic book trope. It is a bright and eye-catching prop that helps to convey the variant Loki's personality. He is a mischievous and carefree character, and the gum helps to reinforce this image. I personally think that the show's decision to make Loki DB Cooper is a bold and creative one. It is a way to connect the MCU to the real world in a new and unexpected way. It is also a way to add a new layer of mystery and intrigue to the character of Loki. I also believe Owen Wilson is an excellent choice for the role of Mobius. He brings a lot of charm and humor to the role. Mobius M. Mobius first appeared in Fantastic Four #353 (June 1991), created by writer/artist Walter Simonson. He is a bureaucrat and middle management for the Time Variance Authority (TVA), responsible for monitoring and regulating the timeline. Mobius' appearance in the comics is based on that of Mark Gruenwald, a longtime Marvel Comics writer and editor. Gruenwald was known for his dry wit and encyclopedic knowledge of the Marvel universe. Gruenwald was a highly respected figure in the comics industry, and he is considered to be one of the most influential Marvel Comics writers of all time. His work helped to shape the Marvel universe as we know it today. I think it is great that the creators of the Loki series decided to honor Gruenwald's legacy by basing Mobius' appearance on him. It is a fitting tribute to a man who made significant contributions to the Marvel universe.
@@jasonutty52 I think the second season is good, but they are two different concepts, the first season was creating something new and fun, the second has to follow the rules created in the first season, while working on the story of the one who remains complex for himself
Having just watched season 2.4, it’s incredible to go back to the beginning with you and relive the oohs and ahhs and all of the surprises again but this time with your amazing reactions and commentary. Imagine if someone made a necklace and matching earrings with all those infinity stones. You could have a set in each color and match all of your outfits.
I'm sure you gonna love this series and given your love for Star Wars, I simply have to recommend Doctor Who. Like, I understand you have a schedule, but I really think you should add this show in a future poll or something. The series is really big (13 seasons currently and, like, 13 episodes or more, I think), but it's also really good and fits your channel. I also have to recommend Agents of SHIELD. Love the reaction, tho. I'm very excited to rewatch the rest of the show with you.
@@magus104, really? I mean, they are both a big universe where you have some good and heavy moments, some silliness and light harder parts with great messages. All the aliens and crazy planets, equipments and story. I'm surprised you really don't see it like that.
Funny you say that. In season 2 there were lots of ‘radiation’ themes and even nuclear sirens. Secret Invasion was also set in a nuclear power plant in Russia. Probably Chernobyl.
The TVA location shoots were in the Atlanta Marriott Marquis hotel. It was filmed during the COVID pandemic, and the hotel was empty and available. Loki and about half the MCU films use the Trilith Studios in Fayetteville, GA, which is part of the Atlanta Metro area. Georgia has a tax credit for media production, so a lot of it gets done here these days. The Dragoncon sci-fi and media convention uses that and other large hotels in Atlanta, and I have stayed in that particular one. The architecture is very distinct and I recognize a number of the rooms they used in the series. Ironically Atlanta gets some of its power from the other TVA - the Tennessee Valley Authority.
I’m so glad you’re reacting to Loki Emme, especially with season 2 currently being released. I’m four episodes into season 2 so far and it’s just as good as ever.
Great reaction😮 Emme. The recent MCU movies have been mediocre to awful. However, the TV shows Loki & Wandavision are amazing & everything the MCU should be be when they reach their potential. Loki has amazing & smart writing, great acting, incredible cinematography, etc It’s so good & an amazing ride. You surely will enjoy it. Plus it’s perfect timing as you get to roll right into Season 2 which had the impossible task of matching Season’s 1 greatness & incredibly matches it which is rare. Strap on your seatbelts because it’s one hell of a ride.
Hi, Emme. Loved it. I'd like to say I loved it at home, but I'm in jail. I'm here because I refused to move from my spot. And I refused to move from my spot because I was badly dehydrated. So I... (TVA shows up.) Huh? Who are you? What's that little glowing thing on the end of your sti... AAAAAAHHHHHHHH. (Silence then reappears) Whew, where was I? Oh yeah, just getting a drink of water before stretching my legs so I don't end up in jail. Wow, life is good. Moral of the story: Listen to Emme, kids. 😊
Depending how season 2 ends, she might wanna wait. This is new territory for the MCU. A season 2. Honestly, to be safe, she should watch it in release order. Let her wait on season 2 like we all had to wait.
They could have given one throwaway line about how not only magic is supressed in the TVA, but also his strenght and durability. But they semed to forget a bit of his abilities. Other than that I love this show.
That thought had crossed my mind. His strength is part of his physiological makeup, unless the TVA has some sort of dampening field that affects that as well.
The "end of file" of Loki ended with Thor hugging him..which means he only died after he felt that hug
The D.B. Cooper scene was a pretty awesome reference to throw in. If you don't know then google homework it. Still unsolved
Loki got his own series all because Hulk hates the stairs.
Ha !5 star comment MI amiigo
Haha, damn that's so right! The Hulk fucked up big time lmao.
@@paul1780yeah but who on the tva is gonna try to prune him? Lol quick way to get hulk smashed.
And mostly everything in Marvel’s Infinity Saga’ happened because of Loki. 😉
This show came out before What If. The concept of this show basically is the reason What If exists
It's so interesting to see Loki, someone who has seen so much, be confused by something
Yes agree!!!
4:15 Tom just signed his contract! 😆💀
Emme wanting to work at the TVA is perfect! 😂🤣😂
Agreed. But in an earlier reaction, she confessed that she could never work for corporate America.
Miss Minute is voiced by the great voice actress Tara Strong.

The writer for Loki, Kate Herron, is writing some episodes for the new season of Doctor Who funnily enough!
I am a pretty big doctor who fan but i fail to see how enjoying starwars could in any way relate to the campy cringy nature of doctor who.

Emme!! Good Morning, so glad you're starting this series :)
I wanna hear Emme say Owen Wilson's "Woowww". 😋
Humanity has an inflated sense of self-value. Life is indeed, meaningless, as Emme alluded to.
It looks like the TVA scenes were shot inside a 60's TVA nuclear power plant. Very unique style.
