    It would have been important to mention, if your poop changes drastically, see a doctor. My poop turned black and was pencil thin for a month; then there was drops of blood. I had stage 4 rectal cancer. I now poop in a bag but am cancer free.

      I am glad you are cancer free. my friend has stage 4 intestinal cancer. Chemo is not working and she is now on a non-FDA approved regime. I want her to live, but even the doctors say that for her it is just a matter of time. Breaks my heart. she is 43. She said she did not feel overwhelmingly bad and the few symptoms she had did not seem so strange. I lost another friend to cancer about 6 years ago. She too was not even 50. Cancer scares the crap out of me ( really, no pun intended) because it hits people really young. I expected my friends and I would have what I call "old people problems" I did not know we could get cut down in the prime of our lives. I am so glad you are okay. I wish you many, many more years of happiness and health.

      "There is a nutrient, though, for which 97% of Americans are deficient. Now that’s a problem nutrient. That’s something we really have to work on. Less than 3% of Americans get even the recommended minimum adequate intake of fiber. So the question isn’t “where do you get your protein?” but “where do you get your fiber?” We only get about 15 grams a day. The minimum daily requirement is 31.5 so we get less than half the minimum. If you break it down by age and gender, after studying the diets of 12,761 Americans, the percent of men between ages 14 and 50 getting the minimum adequate intake? Zero."

    The gut microbiome certainly plays a role in our health, but it's not THE answer to all of our health problems.

    I like to use Natural Calm for my magnesium supplement. Processed and animal fats are not healthy, but seeds, nuts, olives, avocados and coconut should be the fats we eat. These are what increases omega 3, whereas the processed and animal fats increase the omega 6 throwing the ratio out of balance leads to other health problems.

    In many ways, this speech was excellent; however it did fall short in several other ways. I believe that it would have made her speech far more credible had she cited her sources. She had some interesting stats in the beginning of her speech and I would have loved to know where she got them from. For example, Ms. Ramos stated that over 70% of the population could not process dairy past infancy, where is she getting this stat from? It’s certainly not a fact that I know off hand, but I would be far more likely to believe such a high number had she had a credible source to back it up. Without it’s just another stat that could have been collected from who knows where in who knows what way. I also noticed that fiber wasn’t mentioned at all during this speech which I found to be a little odd as it seems to be pretty commonly known that one causal factor of constipation is a deficiency in fiber. However I do have to say that I am very pleased by the fact that she chose to speak on a topic that does not get enough attention. My friends often joke about my morning bowel movements, but the fact that they say they only have a bowel movement every two (sometimes even three) days is terrifying to me. What’s worse is that they don’t seem interesting in fixing it because they don’t see it as a problem! I also thought it was smart the way the topic was introduced as it commonly makes many people uncomfortable just thinking about it, by making a few jokes and a couple cracks at herself. If we had more talks about what makes up a healthy digestive system and why it is so vital, I think we would see a decrease in a lot of different issues. If it was more common to go to the doctor for being “irregular”, it would in turn increase the chances of catching any other comorbidities and disorders such as cancer or even depression.

    here's a tip... very efficient way to regulate your poop... fast from food for 3 days(72 hours). drink only water. She mentioned how our bodies are made in a certain way that allows our body to function properly, hence the foot stool or "squat". So being humans its only in modern era that eating 5 times a day has become a norm. This 72 hours period allows our bodies to regulation and process all the nutrients we intake and toxins we need to release. so on the first day of fasting i suggest begin in the evening at sunset, so you sleep through half of the first day. Get past the first day, mind over matter. Drink water! the second day, be prepared to have a toilet nearby, it will be watery because the water you are drinking will cleanse your entire intestinal tract. your body will cleanse like never before. the third day will be less. Now you have a clean slate for you body, this is the best time to begin regulating you nutrient intake and build ur body up. For those of you not sold on evolution theory of hunter gatherers waiting to find their next meal when conditions are right, safety and availability of resources. Review any spiritual book you hold dear. I have done my own extensive study and encourage you to seek facts yourself when it comes to spiritual books. They all revolve around HUMAN NUTRITION. Foods that are beneficial, foods that are harmful"unclean", a period on going without food prior to ingesting very beneficial food. I have learned for Torah/Bible/ Quran believers, the self control of food is essential. The Quran states to believe in the Revelation of Jesus Christ and the books of moses no matter what in order to be muslim. Revelation teaching only those that will "survive" would have the mark of God, and in the Torah it explains what it means to receive the mark of God, keep the 10 days of passover. 3 days to prepare(fasting) then the specific food to eat for a week. this food consists of what every and any human nutrition expert would accept as "healthy" food to eat. Wheat(no yeast), bitter herbs, grape juice, and fish. for a few more details check this out... rideronthebee.com... i hope one day i would be invited for a tedtalk... wish you the best, Her presentation was very good and informative.. thank you. i hope she hears about this and gives it the old college clinical effort ;D

    "Fat does not make you fat, sugar make you fat". Really? That's a misleading statement. Whole food plant-based diets (see Dr.McDougall) are low fat (around 10% or so) but lead to great digestive health due to high fiber content.

    There are hundreds of clinical nutritional studies showing saturated fat makes you fat, get your facts straight, use science, not your opinion. That being said, refined sugar is definitely not a health food, but not the sole culprit in obesity. You are quite funny however, with great delivery.

      Too much fiber and water (happens when you are eating tons of veggies
      and fruit) would cause loose poo or diarrhea. This is from my (past)
      personal experience--I used to be *mostly* raw vegan.

    One of the pitfalls of having a slow internet connection..........taking double the time to surf through, well, shit like this
    12:00 : finally she comes to the punchline "sugar, not fat, causes fat ( obesity )" again, no proof provided of this I guess the Darlene Cates of the world must be overdoing it on soft drinks ( eye roll).
    Exactly what you would expect from a former advertising executive.........at least she's being honest about what her discussion was all about.........but should she be giving health advice for obese/sick people ?

    • @billjoe39
      @billjoe39 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** If that is the case ( besides the fact she showed a lack of knowledge in this video) she should then retract some of this industry nonsense she peddles here...."sugar, not fat, causes obesity" ALSO she should cite her sources for such disinformation.....as if.

      What she like every other person that knocks sugar doesn't say is that the sugar is either gmo sugar cane, sugar beets, HFCS and corn lots of gmo bt corn and soy in everything on the shelves, packaged, and in fast food. Sugar and gluten are looked at as the enemy, when it's gmo. The proof is all around you look at people in the grocery
      stores, at restaurants, on the street people are getting bigger, and
      diabetes is a growing epidemic. It's GMO food there is plenty of proof, it's in the end result.
      Still her advice on poo, is still good.

    Sugar don't make you fat, eating more calories than you burn in a day causes fat storage

    • @gphx
      @gphx 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Insulin is the hormone controlling fat deposition. Eat a lot of carbs and raise insulin production and fat deposition increases by definition. Eat too much fat and you poop most of it out. Anyone who has had to run to the restroom after eating a lot of fried, greasy foods should understand this.

    • @dedicatedsot84
      @dedicatedsot84 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      gphx when humans eat too fat our cells get covered in the sticky mess and then the sugar can't get into the cells leading to type two diabetes overtime. Think of a glass filled with pearls and you dump oil over them completely coated them, that's what oil and high fat crap does inside our blood stream to our cells, causing the sugar to not be able to get inside and be used as fuel.
