Door handles tend to break on 2006 - 2009 Lincoln Zypher/MKZ, Mercury Milan, and Ford Fusion. This video shows the removal and replacement of one of these broken door handles.

Ok so when replacing it you have to disconnect your battery because of the locks ?
You don’t “have” to, it’s just good practice when replacing electronic components.
My door would not lock when this happened. Was this the case with yours?
Yep, had to manually lock it
