This video completely mixed up "flex printing" with Digital Printing.. Flex printing is similar to using a rubber stamp (which today is called photopolymer plate) pressed against a cylinder drum. The video was showing a large format digital press.
The cash required to be in any of these businesses and make a good profit is way to high and the current demand is very low. Most is still done overseas in China and other SE Asia countries.
Most of the local printing in the United States is not done over seas… The smaller digital presses have taken over small to medium job quantities, and there are still affordable used offset presses to be had, even a new/used digital press can be leased through such companies as Konica. If an artist wanted to sell their creations, I would recommend looking into a desktop upgraded digital printer and learning as much as possible about supportive softwares. Personally I am into letterpress printing using lead type and flexo plates.. My presses were built in 1901, 1910 and my paper cutter dates back to 1890… Print as a business is not dead! 👣🖨
