Uhm I think you misunderstood the part about Hiruko: in episode 11 it is revealed that it is the name of the kids.
Maru initially thought that it was another way to call the man-eaters but that was just because Mikura knew all the man-eaters were actually Hirukos dead after developing the disease.
I don't think that the Takahara Academy actually planned to populate the world with monsters and, as far as we know, they didn't even know what the thing that came out of Tarao's body was.

The genetically-modified soldiers were born from Miina's robot body (notice how "she" is "pregnant" in every scene).
It wasn't explicitly stated in the anime what their name was, but if you look for Hiruko in Japanese folklore, you'll see that it was the name of the god (Ebisu), who was the "misconceived firstborn of the creator couple of Izanami and Izanagi." (www.britannica.com/topic/Hiruko)
When Tokio and Kuku found the babies (Ep. 5), they look like alright on the upper body, but their lower torso look like jelly, like a squid or a water leech (squishy).
- "The word "Hiruko" suggests that the child's limbs were deformed like those of a water leech."

These genetically-modified babies are what I'll assume to be Hiruko, because just because they fit the description. These first-generation gen-mod soldiers were probably called Hiruko as well.
I mean, they're Japanese, and Izanagi and Izanami's pictures were always hanging on the wall, so there's that.
In Chapter 41, Director Shino and the rest of the board sent multiple genetically-modified soldiers to disrupt the world organizations from building countermeasures to avoid the asteroid that Miina correctly predicted.
They know what they are doing and if you read the manga, Director Shino's goal is to populate the world with these monsters. You'll know it because she said it in Episode 1 when she revealed to Tokio that the "outside of the outside" is full of abhorrent monsters, she was probably referring to the Hiruko Mk. 1 that they were mass-producing.
You're correct about the part that they didn't know about the hiruko-core until it was found in Tarao's remains, but then again, they know that they are creating these monsters.
One of the three workers during Episode 11 mentioned something about "crossing too many taboos" and even Dr. Sawatari questioned Director Shino about the brain transplant using Assistant Director Aoshima's (Mitsuki) body as a vessel.
I think it's safe to say that she's looking for a way to live longer and hirukos are the perfect vessels because they're near immortal.
That's why when there was a child who turned out to be a good candidate, she wanted to be transferred immediately.

I think the director, talking about abhorrent monsters, was referring to the "corrupted humanity".
About the taboos they are probably referring to human cloning and other unethical stuff they felt morally justified to do because they thought they were working for the greater good and certainly not to unleash dozens of flesh eating monsters.
It may be but there is no evidence that they actually knew what the thing that came out from Tarao actually was. If they knew it was a monster, it's strange that the director never said anything about it even when she was talking to Sawatari about the disease in episode 11.
I think the kids were already supposed to have a virtually limitless lifespan being immune to everything (aging too?) and that actually makes more sense with the director's words because she wants to achieve the longevity betting on the supposed immunity to the disease of Hiruko's descendants.
So, in the mind of the director the kids from the facility aren't immortal because they can get the disease that, as far as she knows, will eventually kill them.

I don't think Asura actually died. He just faked a dead body and then went invisible or something.
This series is actually quite sad. You can actually trace some monsters back to the original child in the facility if you pay attention to the clues in my opinion. For example, the one that hypnotize them in the basement is actually the little girl with the glasses. I hope I am wrong, but I get a feeling I am not.

You did some mistakes in this video, such as the one when you said humans can have the plague. That girl thst was at the hotel, she is the daughter of Anzu and Taka. The only one that is closer to a human and can have the plague is a half human half hiruko being, which is the baby with ice power, son of the human with an 11 on him and a female hiruko from the academy.
Hi and thanks for watching! You are correct about whom the plague affects. The original title for this video was The Lore of Heavenly Delusion, but I changed it for the algorithm. Sorry about that. It was only meant to explain how the world came to ruins, and not give away major reveals about the characters. Wanted to leave some surprises for season 2.
I know this is splitting hairs, but Dr. Usami introduced Hoshio as a human with the disease that turns them into monsters, and wanted to honor her humanity in death. So as far as anime-only goes, "it's not proven yet." Although it's evident her biological make-up is different, since Maru can deep dive into her, and similarly Totori.
@@AnimeFlashbacker Hoshio is Mimihime and Dr. Usami is Shiro. You can tell by her eye, the fact that Shiro is in love with her and her last wish being to see the sky, just like Mimihime focused on the sky when she got out of heaven.
The story structure reminds me of this book that reads the color of water. It has the same structure. This Anime/manga is so interesting. I'm hoping season 2 will come out, the hiruko sounds similarto the hiruko from xam'd lost memories

Hi, to clarify, it's supposed to be revolution...sorry, mixed it up in editing. But evolution sort of fits too since, since people would have to adapt to the new world Shino was creating...except she was literally engineering the hiruko instead of humans...so, yeah that's a stretch. She was evolving hirukos so she could frankenstein one with her brain.
My understanding is that Shino just didn't like the current world for some reason (a “Hell of Patience”) and wanted a new world order. To that end, she actively revolted against the government military, who were trying to protect the current world and prevent the asteroid crash (aka "Jeweled Spear of Heaven" aka "Planet Nibiru" which was based on the 1995 "Nibiru cataclysm" prediction).
The director reminds of God Emperor Cleon from Foundation.

Coming here to spoil the show for myself intentionally.
Never read the manga, won’t now because of the show. I thought it wasted too much of it’s time and reminded me too much of ‘Lost’ where characters do as much as possible to stop the plot from progressing.
