Nice work! Not a lot of people understand the in's and out's of vehicles and this was a good example of that knowledge people won't understand until they are in your shoes.

Thank you! Yeah. There is a lot that goes into vehicles and it is okay to not know everything. I know there is so much I don't even know!

I have the same Z71 Tahoe, next time before refiling the brake fluid clean the inside of the reservoir. After a while I got tired of the original tires and rims and I installed the rims and tires from a 2011 Silverado 18 inch rims with BF Goodrich KO2s. If you want better stopping power, replace your front calipers, rotors and pads with POWER STOP front brake kit.

Nice! I will have to look into better brakes eventually. Right now it seems to stop okay. Doesn’t handle sudden movements well. I was planning to have a professional flush the brake system at some point as well since I don’t have the right tools for that on hand. We’ll have to see.

With such little clearance for the other type of tire you tried on, would there be cause for concern when you take a really bad pothole? Or would the suspension prevent the rim from hitting the caliper?

Good question! My understanding is since the wheel is bolted to the hubs (the part with all the bolts sticking out) the caliper moves with the wheel when it goes up and down or side to side when you turn. My concern would be damage to the fenders and inner wheel liners if the larger tires rub up against them if the suspension bottomed out. I likely won't go with that wheel and tire size anyway. If I hit a hole hard enough to bend a rim with that much rubber on it I would probably have bigger problems to worry about.
