The 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe & Suburban Get Big Screens And New Interiors

- Looks like we'll have to wait about a year to see the 2025 Tahoe and Suburban on the road, but the refresh is worth the wait. On the outside we get tweaked bumpers and lights, under the hood we finally get the diesel engine on the off-road trims, but the magic is really what's going on inside. The dashboard of both vehicles has been completely redesigned with huge new screens and GM's latest software. The massive displays are flanked by more premium materials as well. In the top High Country trim that means real wood and real leather combine to make this the new most premium entry outside the luxury segment. Want something snazzier than an Expedition or Wagoneer? There's now a Chevy for that.

100% looks better. It's amazing how everyone balked at the Nissan Juke and 1st Gen Cherokee for having foglights as main driving lights/headlights and now everyone is doing it.
That wasn’t why people balked at the Juke lol
Could say the Aztek did it first. xD
Right!! That’s what I’m saying, it’s a cool look
Nissan Titan is better
It wasn’t the 1st gen Cherokee.
I'm so glad the column shifter of the Chevy Tahoe and Suburban are back and I like it and it looks amazing 😍🔥
I kind of wondered if they had issues with the push/pull shifter...so I'm DEFINITELY waiting for this newer model to come out.
It's about time.... or they should have adopted the console shifter the Escalade at least over the past couple years, versus the fakajata dash arrangement.
Glad they brought back the column shifter
For a big SUV, sharp! From out of my price range to way out of my price range 👍🏻
Yup, they keep getting more and more expensive 😊
I think around $1,000-$1,400 monthly payment based on trim. Amazing how expensive it is.
Base model with diesel. Done.
Although those are kinda hard to find in my area…
@@faheemabbas3965probably wouldn’t find that in inventory. Would have to order it.
Don't worry Folks, it's only 25k for the base model
Liking the lights being placed lower, it helps with pedestrian visibility and keeps light out of other drivers eyes.
Such a thoughtful move and impressive refresh. I am genuinely proud of *gm* right now. Also the fact their styling speaks for itself, stands out amongst the crowd, and it’s _theirs_ (original), that means A LOT to me, as an American. 🇺🇸
Finally a modern column shifter and not the awkward button setup. I thought it was bogus that they claim that column shifter takes up space but the button shifter does not.😂😂😂
This looks amazing!! I'm even more interested to see what they'll do with the Yukon. GM does a great job of not letting their products get stale
The fact that the column shifter is back and the Z71 w/ diesel availability basically corrects every grip I had. If it turns out they've corrected the airbag non deployment/SDM logic issues these would be near the top of my list for a full-size SUV.
Tahoe also has foglights now 👏
The new light saber style LED puddle light that runs along the bottom of the doors looks so upscale and so much better than the LED dots on the current trucks. They’ve addressed absolutely everything that I didn’t care for on the pre-refresh! *gm* is doing their homework! 🔥💨
I have to admit that GM did quite well with the design of these two vehicles.
The Interior is a far cry from the 'Fisher Price' days.
Wow GM was able to really keep things hush hush! Kinda glad they didn't stray too far from their styling ethos and the headlamp relocation works well for a vehicle of the Tahoe's size. Great move on finally offering the LZO DMax on the Z71.
Happy to see GM continue to really work to remove the stigma of poor interior quality from the lineup. It is both functionally and esthetically pleasing.
But my fear is that $90K Tahoe and $100K Suburbans will soon become the norm.
People did like the pre-refreshed Tahoe and Suburban. They were already a big improvement from the previous gen models.
It is the Norm.
@@garrettmckinneythe previous generation was pure trash. Ended buying a current generation Expedition
@@williamerazo3921the previous generation just felt cheap in comparison to the current generation.
front end looks nicer with this redesign.
The wheel design and dimensions look so perfect on this truck which is massive in person. I felt the 22s looked small when the 2021 was revealed but never thought an American manufacturer would have the balls to fill out those wheel wells like the Germans do on top trim models - this truck just put them all on notice! Absolutely gorgeous. Can’t wait to test drive to see how the updates to the air suspension and tuning of the MRC in this application keep the ride quality top in class!🔥
Get ready for $750 ea tire!
Shifter n the column is a big win!
for better center console space, clean, tidy, roomy
I wonder why it's not mandatory yet
Well, I got a 2023 Tahoe model and I cannot wait to get this 2025 Model , Thats a Big Upgrade for the Interior 👍🏼
My lease is up in 25’. I know I won’t be able to pass that new Tahoe up!!
Thanks for your usual great review, especially given the time constraints. We have a 2001 Suburban and don't need *quite* as much room anymore. But I sure do like the Tahoe/Suburban! p.s. Love the column shifter - that's what the 2001 has so it is great to see the column shifter return.
I wish Chevy had more interior color options other than black… it would be soooo nice to see the z71 in maybe red leather or like a light brown to break up the interior style and not make it sooo dark and boring 😩
I'm interested to see what they do for the Yukon Denali. I hope they stay away from the horrible vertical screen found in the Sierra EV and new Acadia but it seems like that's the way they're going. This screen layout looks better and is more functional than anything vertical.
GMC should go out of business.
It appears GMC lost their mind and went with the tablet in a vertical mode based on early released photos, not what we hoped for.
Can't wait to see the Yukon and Escalade
The redesign inside and out seem like a big step forward. Well done, Chevy.
Great job GM on the design and improving the 3L diesel engine. I’m a big fan of having a diesel option on these large SUV’s and trucks. Very concise review Alex. Thank you for your time!
Why do these have the such low ground clearance for lower rear control arms?
i noticed that on the road too. i was raised in a gm family haha but i would never buy one now. now i know why my old man switched to toyota in 2011. they look like they have mini van clearance now.
Did they fix the oil use problem with the LZO diesel engine??
Looks sharp! But I’m going for the Traverse or Acadia.
Why are 2nd row captains chairs such a fad. The whole point of these vehicles is utility. And the ability to seat 5 with 3rd row down for cargo, or 8 total, is a big aspect of utility.
Really like this mid cycle redesign. Thought the 21 was okay…but this remodel fixes some of the things that I found annoying. Just have to see the refreshed Yukon to decide between the two…
Only reason I wasn't getting a new one was this combo wasn't available. Diesel offroader I'm sold
So. Much. Better!!!
Any word on the ZR2 version?
When can you order the 2025 model ? I’ll wait for diesel upgrade .
It would be nice., when we activate the turn signal show an a camera.
Did they fix the rear low hanging independent suspension?
Doesn't seem so if you look at passenger rear wheel @4:16. Control arm looks like it is still ridiculously low.
Insane vehicle bestie.
So glad they got rid of the push button transmission controls. I don’t understand having the HVAC controls through the touch screen when you have physical control as well. Who’s going to tap on a screen when you can easily adjust with the knob.
If you have choices of which to use, what does it matter. Its not like you have to use the screen. You and use one or the other.
That grey is the color of the mid 2020s. It’s showing up everywhere now. And hallelujah for finally getting rid of the absolutely ugly center console stack. Oh… thank the maker no more dumb drive selector buttons.
This whole vehicle looks so much better.
My question is how are people buying these things without having like 10 years of payments? I make a good living and still can’t imagine spending $80k+ on a vehicle.. heck the “base” model is $60k after taxes, no way in hell…. People like throwing away money I guess.
I bought my 23 Grand Wagoneer Series III, which had a $117K MSRP sticker! I'm retired and not working. Pretty easy to do.
can’t wait til they fix that rear suspension that sits 6 inches from the ground
I think it’s actually 9 inches inches off the ground but it’s awful looking and way too close and no vehicle does this so they need to redesign it and fix it
Lens glare in a studio, I can only imagine driving in full sunlight. We have a model Y and that similar tablet style display creates horrible viewing issues in certain bright light angles especially when there are a few fingerprints on them
I like the styling but I wonder how the piano black trim will age over time - how washable would it be?
24 inch wheels ?! The ride quality will suffer significantly these automakers have gone off the deep end.
Not to mention $750 tires!
Is that front skid plate actually functional on the 2025? On my 2023 it looks functional but its actually just plastic that is painted to look like its functional, which was definitely a disappointment.
Thanks Alex. With the increased size of the Tahoe, will 4X8 sheets of material now fit with all seats folded with the rear hatch closed?
Suburban probably, Tahoe no.
Can we finish 2024 first, dayum!!!!
Great another large SUV most Americans wont be able to afford, something like 90% of the population!
I have a 2004 Suburban packing a 960-horsepower LT1 motor. Police package front end and rotors. She'll rip a mean second. Top speed around 165 mph.. A wolf in sheep's clothing.🐺
I smoke most vehicles!!
That truck looks nice.
Supercharged?
Massive upgrades for a line that was already the best 3 row full size truck-based SUV.
The refreshed front end looks much better, but I never liked the cutline of the engine bay hood.
Can u put Tahoe into Neutral to coast or tow or roll on if engine not running ? That push button shift could not !
You would simply pull the stalk towards you and release it to go into neutral.
@@G-Rated not if electronic
Waiting for build and price become available.
Doesn’t it also come with the standard federal government shut off switch too?
I hope there transmission are better. I love my tahoe but have had many many issues. Hope I can buy a new one in the future if there transmission last longer.
It uses the 10 Speed, the one developed with Ford.
the lower arms of the rear independent suspension hung a bit over 6” above the road surface. i doubt they’ve changed it which begs the question - can you have a full size suv with 6-7” of ground clearance be considered “offroad”?
Why did they have to go with Digested Tootsie-Roll Brown for the interior?
One pothole will ruin those wherls. What were the engineers thinking...?
60 series gives some pretty decent sidewall protection.
@@tpolerex7282 Forgive me for being sceptical, but I don't begrudge your opinion.
@@tpolerex728224" is ridiculous, and for this type vehicle is rubber band territory. The aspect ratio (your mentioned 60, etc) won't matter in this area.. The overall tire diameter--what most laypersons think of visually as "tire height"--will, unless aftermarket oversized, be fixed - the same as (or close to) any other current or recent Tahoe/Suburban spec, regardless of wheel (16, 18, 20...24 etc) - So, it won't matter the aspect ratio (55, 60, 65, etc)...the sidewall height dimension will remain the same for (within) any specific tire diameter (31, 32 inch etc) meeting the factory spec for the vehicle. Result: the larger (diameter) the wheel for a given, fixed tire diameter always = shorter sidewall = less ride cushion = both less sidewall and wheel protection.
And the OEM 40 series tires will blow out the sidewall. Replace each tire at $750!
@@tpolerex7282 Since the overall diameter of the tire, ie 32" etc, remains the same (+/- 2-5% depending on specific tire and brand, etc) from vehicle year to year (or even generation), unless its is a completely different specification in that regard (which is rare--overall vehicle dynamics, handling and safety parameters,, ride height, and axle gearing, etc, not changing that much over the years), it's only the diameter of the wheel which changes, i.e., from 20" to 22" or 23" etc, which means the sidewall gets perilously shorter and shorter the taller the wheel itself gets.... the rubber band syndrome... The tire series, per se, doesn't matter except in the ratio it represents sidewall to tire width. If we see the series (ratio) go down, numerically, within any particular wheel/tire (diameter) application, it just means that the tire has gotten wider relative to the sidewall height which is static within any factory approved or spec'd overall tire height, ie, 32" etc. This application is scary.
Please relocate the volume knob to the passenger side, please
GM once again nails this. This looks like another hit
Say what you want about GM products being garbage but this one’s far from garbage
well if GM made their full size SUVS and extended variants garbage, they might as well be looking like nissan and infinity. but gm does do full size SUVs the best now that they have independent rear suspension, updated tech, and have class-leading total cargo space even with the new Wagoneer and grand wagoneer and their extended lengths
Let’s see how they hold up. Recent years, the quality has been bad. Have they fixed the displacement on demand? Time will tell. I have a very hard time thinking of spending so much on these vehicles combined with poor fuel economy.
@@appleiphone69 the GM diesel powertrain actually is pretty fuel efficient, the 2nd best fuel-efficienty is the sequoia with the iforcemax twin turbo v6 hybrid, but they don't have a longer variant to compete with the suburban and the cargo/third row space suffers from the new design and new frame
@@huanronghu4432the new sequoia is not good imo. It offers so little space.
@@appleiphone69that’s what the Diesel 3.0L is for.
No ambient lighting?
It’s a Chevy what do you expect next you’ll be asking for a semi analine leather
Screen seems to be a bit far to reach all the time. While driving, that may sound like trouble
Exactly
“Tahoes and Suburbans are $90k!”
LS Trim: “Am I a joke to you?”
If 90k i preffer Toyota sequoia capstone...same price... it lasts 30 years😂😂😂
if the price not going higher than $60k I will buy it diesel version as soon is come out.
You can get a full-size Lexus SUV for the same price and even improved gas mileage
Yeah, but it's not a Chevrolet..
American-made baby!!!
1000% better looking 😊 just need some fender flares to finish the look
I’ll keep it short. I’m in the process of getting a lawyer to evoke the lemon law. A brand new 2023 Tahoe High County leaking water into the cargo area. It’s been a nightmare.
Will the Yukon XL or suburban be over 6k lbs? Also, why release the new 2025 when the older look 24s haven’t even sold out yet? Kinda like shooting yourself in the foot 🦶
I would not spend that much for a vehicle that cost the same as a house
Inside looks just like the new Silverado EV, that they have yet to release still.
Yes! GM truly makes Beautiful car but its just SAD that it plagues with issues & problems.Reliability is number 1 issue that make you stressfull and Silently making you retired Broke.2015-2021-2025 have minor / major facelift BUT same Engine,Trans & Electronics Becareful and Good Luck!😁😢
Dinosaur manufacturers make dinosaur cars
I'd wait until Chevy's new small block V8 is available. They're spending nearly $1B in developing manufacturing facilities. It will blow away the currently quasi-adequate 5.3 liter.
The Tahoe looks like it's painted in wet clay.
I used to be a GM person until I worked on cars for a living. It seems like ever Chevy/GMC/Buick and especially Cadillac have some sort of electrical issue. This new Tahoe seems nice but, if it runs over a raccoon doing 70mph, it's going to rip an electrical harness that's probably manufactured in south Korea and is on back order until 2030. By then all the plastic in the interior will have already started to self destruct. The vehicle will probably be only worth 1/4 of what it was purchased for new. The customer will be complaining about something totally unrelated to the damage caused by the racoon and I will have to lose sleep worried about how to repair a car built from garbage.
I don't get it these days, people don't think about the longevity of the things they buy and they just look at shiny stuff that doesn't last long
Wow they really fixed all my gripes, ugly interior and lack of super cruise.
24 inch wheels and tires. Lol. How much do they cost to replace for a tire?
$750!
Still no hybrid options?
Yeah, just what we need hybrid junk from General Motors
@Ryan2022 They had a great program with the Volt, but in typical GM fashion, they abandoned it just when it was perfected.
The seats in my 2023 Denali are terrible for comfort! I hope they do better on the 2025
These screens are getting ridiculous in size
Why did Chevy unveil the Tahoe that won't be available for a year?
Fall of 24 most likely. GM has been revealing most of their new products a year before production.
I’m a GM girl… my father worked for them… I drive a Tahoe now and I love it!
2025 model in 2023, this time travel thing is get a bit ridiculous
It's a reveal and will be available to purchase next year. Model years are normally always available to buy the year before so nothing new
I find it hilarious when Americans flip out when a car that should be running a big boy diesel over a petrol actually has a diesel in it. It’s like giving candy to a kid
I was sure that it's a KIA when saw a preview 😂
Why would GM provide such poor lighting in this studio. Honda seema to do a good job
And back to blinking brake lights. Does GM and Chevy flip a coin each year to figure out who'll use amber and who'll use blinking brake lights?
GM is trying to fix the big mess they created with this current generation of full size SUVs, hence the drop in their market share in this segment from what used to be around %70 to %40 because of the high price (still not fixed) and some stupid ideas like the button shifters. With this revision for current models they fixed all points and even added the stunning diesel across the range. Remaining is the elephant in the room: the price! This is coming from an owner of 2 Tahoes (2012 LT then 2018 Premier) so I'm the typical client for this segment but with the current pricing (plus current fuel prices) there is no way I'm even considering a new one!
The exterior touch up is gotten worse than better. But they got rid of that gear shift button !!!!!!! Great !!!!!!!!
GM got brain !!!!!!!!!!! How dumb was that button, you have to sort of reach out to shift the gear, how akward is that.
The interior might be look great but I don't like exterior features.campare to the old model like 2004 up to 2006 it's too low. If they can come back with the old exterior feature with a small touch up,it would be too nice.shame on Chevrolet company
FBI agents favorite vehicles?
You should see my suburban.
What working middle class family can even afford this? Definitely not mine.
I can 't even tell this is an suburban at first sight
They are best sellers? Really? People line up with their 100K in bags at dealership door ha-ha
105k were sold last year, and this year to date they have sold 84k of Tahoe alone.
As for Suburban. Last year they sold 50K and so far have sold 42K this year.
@@Nebula1701 Hmm.. those are crazy high numbers. Must be the ranchers who buy them and can do tax write off
My Grand Wagoneer L was $117k but got it less than $109K. More features and power than GM SUVs.
wheres the panoramic sunroof and heated massage seats
This is a Chevy so you’re not getting that
Are we just going to skip 2024?
That 5.3 AFM still will drop its lifters no matter how many screens, buttons etc. they add.
That Tahoe front design is not going to age very well
Not a fan of the front end of this gen Tahoe/Suburban and the update doesn't look any better. But the refreshed dash design is fantastic.
Same interior as the 24 trax… SMH
I'm just so surprised what a low tow rating compared to trucks .
So sad doesn't give the passenger any entertainment.
Even though it's my truck. Like someone else to drive. So I can do business on the road.🙁
For the money plastic upgrade on the trim sucks.
I'm a big Suburban fan. I have Three. This is a big letdown.....
Why is Chevrolet promoting 2025 Tahoe's and Suburban's ...when the '24's have JUST BEGUN HITTING DEALERSHIPS ???? Is '24 gonna be a short model run? Ford did this with Mustangs for several years! I wish manufacturers would go back to new models coming out in July of the previous year...instead of anytime and more than a model year ahead badging !!!
Wagoneer can’t compete with these big boys. Ask a Saudi. They always prefer a Escalade or Suburban
Grand Wagoneer competes with Escalade. More power and features than GM SUVs.
