    Also, it would be great to have a video talking about how introducing multiple languages to a baby. For example in our family, I'm Russian and my husband is anglophone, we speak English at home but it's important to me that my daughter learns Russian as well.

      @@friendlykiddoc8796 maybe also an interesting subject could be safe sleeping. As I said my 5 months old daughter rolls only from back to tummy, and does it during sleep as well. Is it safe to let her sleep in that position? The AAP says it's safe once they can roll both ways because it reduces the chances of SIDS but nothing about this particular situation.

    • @friendlykiddoc8796
      @friendlykiddoc8796  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@natalishevchenko3732 Yes it's okay for her at this age. I wouldn't put her down onto her tummy to sleep, but if she rolls over on her own, then there's no reason to disrupt her sleep to put her onto her back to sleep. She has good head control now and her muscles are stronger, so the risk of SIDS is low.

    Hello Dr. Belousov, thanks for the videos. It’s good that by following your recommendations we can help our babies to develop.
    my baby is 1,5 months old and I’ve started putting him on his tummy from the beginning first on my chest and now on the flat surface.
    He pulls his legs as if trying to crawl. His arms move around, sometimes even go backwards. Today he seemed to lean with his head more towards the right side (and so does his body, bcs the head overweights it). Is it normal at this stage? Would appreciate your reply.

    • @friendlykiddoc8796
      @friendlykiddoc8796  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Aida thank you for your question. Yes what you describe your son doing is all normal movement. Sometimes babies will even roll over from the tummy onto the back at this age, but it happens unintentionally.

    hi, can a baby born with fractured clavicle during delivery can do tummy time? hope you reply, thanks in advance.

    • @friendlykiddoc8796
      @friendlykiddoc8796  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi VaMa, fortunately clavicular fractures in babies heal within several weeks. Therefore if the baby is only several weeks old, you can do the modified tummy time I talk about in my video on newborn and 1 month old activities: th-cam.com/video/wEufPYl-bsk/w-d-xo.html
      If the baby is one month or older, you can do tummy time the ways I discuss in this video.

    My almost 5 months old loves tummy time and rolls from back to belly (only towards the right). While on his tummy, he has great head control, reaches for toys, and can sustain being there for well over 10 minutes but he doesn't push on his elbows or hands. Is there something I can do to help him to develop this?

    • @friendlykiddoc8796
      @friendlykiddoc8796  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Melanie. Thank you for the question. You may help your baby by placing his arms in front of him while he's in tummy time. Gently rest your hands on the outer portion of his arms to provide some support and see if he will start to push up on his elbows or hands. If he doesn't, after bringing his arms in front of him you may gently help prop him up on his elbows or hands.
      You mention that the baby rolls only towards one side. It's common for them to start off that way. I have a separate video on teaching the baby how to roll. If you would like to do exercises to teach him to roll in the other direction, I have it linked here: th-cam.com/video/C6T_wFXf4nQ/w-d-xo.html

    My baby does swimming when on his tummy, what should I do?! Thanks

    • @friendlykiddoc8796
      @friendlykiddoc8796  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is nothing to worry about when the baby does those types of motions when doing tummy time. It’s a sign that the baby’s neck and back muscles are strong enough that there is no need to provide support using the arms and legs.

      Ghazala it is common for babies to resist doing tummy time. Try doing the other variations of tummy time mentioned in the video, like putting your baby in a side-lying position, or having her laying on her tummy on your lap. The biggest thing that helps is having distraction toys that will keep your baby engaged during tummy time. Check out this blog post that I wrote for even more ideas: friendlykiddoc.com/tummy-time/
