Smith and Samantha were the greatest of all couples. I love that scene where Sam exits the elevator after being with Richard. You can tell from Smith's expression that he's not okay with what she did and he just sits there silently angry. But when Sam breaks down in regret, he forgets his anger and comforts her. To me this is the most iconic scene of SATC.
Yesss so good and so heartbreaking. Although I thought Richard was super sexy, I really was glad that Samantha ended up with Smith, until the movie, anyway. He was the best for her, and I got alllll the feels when he shaved his head for her 😭❤️🙏🏽
The scene where he comes back from the Canadian film shoot (when Sam's explicitly told him to go f*ck around, w/ her blessing, because the chemo drugs have killed her libido)! EPIC romance...
Smith is probably the most fictitious character but we wish he existed in real life.
Ive never met any guy as hot as Smith who is as nice as he is.
I liked the fact that Smith is not overpowered or intimidated by a successful woman yet he's not a male gold digger being with her just for the money.
As a big fan of Samantha, Im glad she was able to find a guy like Smith.😊

Nobody in the series ever loved someone as much as Smith loved Samantha. For me the absolute most beautiful moment apart from shaving his head was when Samantha told him he could fuck around in Canada because of chemo. And after a phone call when resieving the green sprouts yet to become flowers(Smith told her after her insecurities about her absent libido, she was a sprout and it would be spring soon), and she isn't comfortable with fucking around anymore. He comes home just to tell her he loves her. And she says it back and for the first time in weeks she is feels herself again en the camera moves to the vase with sprouts with tiny fresh flowers on it.
Harry and Smith are tied for #1 for me. Those men were ACTUAL men. No games or any of that nonsense. They loved Charlotte and Samantha, hard. Stuck with them through their cancer and fertility issues. Steve is a close second.

I definitely agree with you. Harry and Smith are the both the best partners and Steve comes close behind them. But the most memorable is Big. No doubt about that. He was a complete jerk on several moments but he's a subject in the series from day 1 to the last one.
I agree Steve was good too he really loved Miranda. I wanted Carrie with Aidan. They might of even had kids. And big took way to long to know she was the one.
I just always wished that Carrie didn't covet Big so much when she met Aidan. I couldn't stand him. I loved Aidan. But, Harry and Smith were my favorite guys that lasted until the end.
I don't understand why a woman can hurt a nice guy like Aidan twice. Aidan is such a good man, anyone would be lucky to be with him.

He ended up with a better life, though. Carrie didn't deserve him, and they weren't right together.

Well, now there needs to be a sequel where he ends with a girlfriend much more loving and much hotter and shove that in Carrie's cheating, self-centered face. 😂

Berger was just the worst. Way too much neuroses and way too insecure. Harry was such a kind and nice guy, who stuck with Charlotte through whatever. Trey might've had his personal issues, but he also never said a bad word about Charlotte, he was a true gentleman. I hated how Steve broke up with Miranda the first time, but he was such a great guy. #1 for me is a tie between Harry and Smith

I watched the show at 16 and loved it and then re-watched it at 26 and realized what a long line of bad decisions took Carrie to where she ended up. Mr Big is NOT the kind of a man any self-respecting woman should be with. All the games, silence, the cheating, the second thoughts about getting married after HE was the one to propose... He can only be #1 for a "Worst boyfriends" countdown.
Reading the comments, it's obvious that Smith and Harry should have been a lot higher on the list. They're my no1s and I love rewatching the series mostly for them.

Harry should have been at least number 2. The only reason most S&S fans don't esteem him higher is cause he is bald and hairy. He loved Charlotte from the minute he met her, treated her excellent AND made her grow/come out of her comfort zone in a more humane way. He was there for her through all her struggles with fertility and regretted breaking up with her immediately (even though it was in his right, she was being too obsessed with the marriage thing).

Smith is just too perfect, man. Handsome, yes, but there’s more to him than that. He’s sweet, romantic, caring and most importantly, a mature man that knows how to handle and adult relationship. He’s the boyfriend every woman should have by her side.
I love that the oft-forgotten James at least made an honorable mention. Sam really opened up with him and it was soooo sweet to see her let her guard down and be emotionally vulnerable

My favorite has to be Steve and Smith. Smith for me is like a dream. He's there for Samantha no matter what and honestly I can't recall any bad things from him. Steve is like the type of guy you get in real life. He has flaws and I was so devastated when he cheated in the movie (which I sometime want to forget that it even exists...). He felt real to me and I love his sense of humor lol

I find I watch mostly for Miranda and Steve, Sam and Smith (though I loved Richard...I know he was not good but I just like James Remar) I liked Aiden but he was too down to earth for Carrie. She is a New York fashionista Party girl. She was a pain in the neck in Sufferin NY (haha) For her Big was NY and like she said NYC was her true Boyfriend. Still enjoy this series over and over again. So strange.

I actually thought breaking Samantha and Smith up in the movies was a nice message that just because there isn't a reason to break up with someone doesn't mean you always HAVE to be in a relationship. Sometimes it's good to work on the relationship with yourself and set the boundaries to do so. Samantha always kept that in mind and although she used the same words to break up with Richard and Smith, the reasons were completely opposite. Richard didn't provide her with trust or safety and that's why she had to PROTECT herself, as she loved herself more than him. Smith provided her emotionally with more than she expected, but their relationship didn't leave her with enough time to focus on her the way she wanted. So she set her boundaries for the time being. However, I really loved seeing the couple together and I'd like to think that when Samantha felt like herself again, they would end up together.

Steve and Harry are my favorites. Aidan was a good guy, but he and Carrie were very wrong for one another. I also think Smith was a wonderful person, but he and Samantha weren't going to last forever, and I kind of wasn't surprised by what happened in the movie. Trey really redeemed himself a bit at the end of his and Charlotte's marriage, so I think of him a little more fondly than I used to.

2. Steve - the perfect match for Miranda.
3. Smith - he was the one for Samantha. I hated the break up in the movie
4. Berger - he wasn't that bad. I loved him with Carrie. He really tried to be not insecure and jealous bc of carries success.
5. Trey - A true gentleman. He never said one bad thing about charlotte even though she kissed someone else. She was the selfish one. At first she was mad because he wasn't able to sleep with her and then the whole drama with the baby

However much I agree with 4/5 of your top 5, I always thought Berger was kind of annoying. He's so insecure that he's gotta make Carrie pay for it. He was also kind of a dick and a little too cynical and immature and unnecessarily vindictive. And the episode when he drove her to the premiere on his motorcycle really pissed me off; he was a super douche and definitely didn't deserve her.
Ps., the sleep machine was SO ANNOYING. Although I personally would find it peaceful and comforting to sleep with the sounds of the rainforest in the background, Carrie was clearly irritated over it and he did nothing about it. Not to mention it was a gift from his ex girlfriend. Talk about super lame, imho.

All of you aiden lovers don’t realize he tried to change everything about Carrie and in the end that wasn’t who she was which ultimately ended the relationship and I actually felt as if they didn’t ever want the same things or have anything in common but he just kept pushing and I found him so annoying. Big however was carries first true love and although he made mistakes he evolved as character and evolved into a loyal friend who was there for Carrie and in the end they finally had fixed themselves enough to be with each other and if you didn’t understand that then you are honestly a casual fan

I agree with the list. I've been a fan since 1998. The seasons R on Amazon prime right now so I've been binge watching. Out of all the characters my least fave was Carrie. Self centered drama queen. Things didn't have to go the way they did with Big. Come on, a handsome wealthy man was gonna put up with her crap. Naw I LOVE Mr Big. I even loved his sense of humor!
