As a skeptical, young senior at Asbury College in 1970, I was not ready for what happened that morning. I was skeptical, because I had seen the failures of the church, of which there are many. Yet, at that moment, and from then on, all the failures of Christians (including my own deep sins) took on a whole different perspective as I was left with witnessing God’s power through his Holy Spirit. My prayer is that this movement of His Holy Spirit runs deeper and wider than it has ever run before, and that our nation will never be the same again!
I was saved in 9/71 next to my Harley in a little Pentecostal church yard, looked up to heaven and His Glory hit me, dumped out my weed, knocked on the ground, repented of my sin began to speak in tongues few days later 2/23 still here I love you Jesus 🔥
I am awestruck by this not knowing about this Revival,but this may have been why I was saved in 1971 at the University of Cincinnati. They m'ay have prayed,they may have visited the campus-idk,but I am SO grateful Jesus got hold of me in my 'junior year. I attended the Billy Graham Crusade that year,also,but I believe I was already born again.Praise be to GOD!!
!!!!! Scares me that he said the last one lasted 2 weeks. Not sure i can get out there that fast. Brownsville didnt last 2 weeks. Brownsville had some serious longevity. I cant imagine God showing up in 2023 n only staying 2 weeks. A lot of folks planning on a rapture in like 80 something days. He could at least stay that long 😁
Revival does not happen when God comes on the scene. God never leaves the scene. Revival comes when we, who are called by His name, BEGIN TO ACT LIKE IT
I recently became curious about the Jesus movement of the late 1960s and mid-1970s, which is the same time period during a previous revival occurred at Asbury. It was then known as The Jesus Revolution. For anyone here who might be interested, a movie will be coming out later this month (23rd or 24th, I think) by that same title. I strongly encourage all of you to check out the trailers and then go see it in the theaters. It will be well worth the price of admission.
