  • VIDEO CORRECTION: INSERT DIME DISC IN TRACTOR'S STACK PORT (NOT IN POWER BEYOND BLOCK'S PORT AS SHOWN IN VIDEO), AND INSTALL POWER BEYOND BLOCK WITH O-RING AGAINST TRACTOR'S STACK (SCV).
This video shows how to install the power beyond kit on the John Deere 6400 tractor. The same power beyond kit fits the John Deere 6110, 6120, 6200, 6210, 6215, 6220, 6300, 6310, 6320, 6400, 6405, 6410, 6415, and 6420 tractors. The PBY block kit includes the block, two sets of studs (one set is 175 mm, and the other set is 220 mm), and the dime disc. This kit is tapping into the tractor's hydraulics so the rear remotes are left free. The block has a pressure port, and return port, and a load sense port. These ports supply hoses carrying oil to and from the loader control valve, thus leaving the rear remotes free on the tractor.
The steps for installing the manifold block kit are listed below:
    1. Remove triangular cap.
    2. Remove studs one at at time, and replace each stud that you pull out with the new long stud before pulling the next stud out. You don't want to pull all three studs out at the same time, because if you do, the rear remote blocks will fall apart and it will be very difficult to put the longer studs in. Whether you need the shorter 175 mm studs or the longer 220 mm studs depends on how many remote blocks you have on your 6000 series John Deere tractor. In this video, we have 3 blocks so we are using the 175 mm bolts.
    3. Tighten new studs and discard old studs.
    4. Place power beyond block on the studs.
    5. Insert dime disc into slot on PBY block.
    6. Replace the triangle cap and tighten it on with nuts.

Hi . I'm from Poland . I have a question . why is the video showing the installation of the disk in the PB, while in your other video you tell us to mount the disk in the SCV board?

I have two loader valves where you installed the power beyond kit. Is there enough clearance for me to install one of these? It doesn't look like it on my end. If not, is there and other way to get a power beyond port on these tractors. I have a 6415.

Losing power steering after installing the power beyond block on the JD 6000 series tractors typically indicates a problem with Load Sense activation, and is usually linked to a problem with the dime disc.
The steps listed below are what we recommend for diagnosing and fixing a load sense activation problem after installing the power beyond block on a JD 6000 series tractor:
      1. The dime disc that is part of the power beyond block kit may not be installed at all. Sometimes this piece gets missed during install. This is unlikely in your case, because in situations where the dime disc is completely missing, the loader, bucket, and grapple usually won't operate at all.
      2. The dime disc may have been placed in the slot in the power beyond block instead of the slot in the SCV during install. This is the most common situation where load sense activation is affected.
      3. There are existing dime discs installed between each SCV section. The SCVs get loose during power beyond block installation, and sometimes one of the existing dime discs falls out.
      4. The dime disc may have a small scratch - less likely than the above possibilities. If this is the case, it would need to be replaced.
Dime Disc John Deere PN#: R95493. If you need one (or several), your local JD dealer should have in stock. This is a very common item used in many of their machines.
One more note - on the cover / cap - there would have been o-rings originally installed on the inside of the cover. These do need to be removed when the cover is replaced after installing the power beyond block. (There was NOT an existing dime disc between final stack and cap before PBY install, and there will NOT be a dime disc installed between PBY and cap.)

@@johnsawatzky620 dime disc must be on the left side of the power beyond, you don't need it between PB and end cover. Dime disc should be install on the left side in all section

@@h.j.6463 thanks for the reply. I guess mine is a different problem. My dime disc's are all in the correct spot. My tractor is having the same symtoms. But i bought it with those issues so I'm having a hard time figuring it out. Thx.

What is the tractors stack port?

    • @shortlinepartsllc6795
      @shortlinepartsllc6795  2 ปีที่แล้ว

What is referred to as the stack in the video is actually the SCV (rear selective control valve). Each SCV on the JD 6400 has a small port about the size of a dime. The small black piece referred to as the "dime disc" goes into this port before installing the power beyond block.
