Courtney mentioned in an interview that they were working on their 2nd album, and it would come out at the end of the year. So, my guess is this is going to be from the new album.
Production on the vocals (and overall) made up for the structure/themes feeling more predictable. It scratches a very specific itch instead of many and I am here for it, especially with the axe to the face line ‘You all deserve each other’.
Spiritbox is my second favorite band and they definitely delivered with this song. I saw some comments where people are like it's sounds like the early Spiritbox but also sounds more modern
I don’t want any noodles in my spine. I enjoyed finally being able to make a live stream for once today and see you react to this in real time! I think this is a nice blend of their roots but in a modern setting. And it definitely comes off as their first pissed-core song and I’m living for it 🤘🏻
this was a solid bop. and what you said about live setting is huge, for example seeing them live: Hurt You, hit way harder, and it surprised me how much more effective it works live. They have a few tracks like that.
Today was good day for my spotify playlist: it sugested me new The Browning song, Linkin Park new song was more than decent, and Spiritbox dropped something out of nowhere..
Allt Echoes is the song of the month. When his vocals get pissed, it genuinely sounds monstrous. As opposed to a plodding slab of one vocal like this song was.
I stepped away from the genre for a long time, basically once I graduated high school. I came back a decade later to bands like bad omen and sleep token and wondered what happened to genre until a friend told me about Spiritbox and I fell in love. Spiritbox and Currents are easily my 2 favorite bands at the moment. I'm really digging this song, and I'm really stoked to hear their second album.
Noodle Spine absolutely slaps. While I agree that the structure was fairly simple, it's nice from a writer's perspective to just do something safe and simple every once in a while
Not to be that person, but your posts have like 10 plays. Not sure if I'm going to trust your opinion on this one, sorry. Honestly, this sounds like a diss track that isn't specific enough to sound like it's not just manufactured anger. To make it chaotic sounding and genuine, Mike changes his riffing, but it still seems forced and kind of uninteresting 🤷
@nolankuffner3573 dude I posted those years ago. I haven't posted anything recently cause I was going to college to learn how to actually produce and write music. The most recent one is a demo on top of that
Feel like this is the closest we've got to Iwabo. Very strong Hail Mary vibes several times in this. Not sure if intentional but there's for sure a callback
This sounds like old self-titled album Spiritbox with a nodern twist, and a sprinkle of Meshuggah towards the end. So good. Courtney does sound pissed. I hope Mike is ok. Lol jk 😂
Personally i really enjoyed this because I saw it as more of a taster than anything. They obviously weren't going to release their best material straight away, and the matter of the fact is that even if this sampler kind of song is still pretty insane and heavy, I am very happy with what we've been given and even more excited for what is to come
I thought they were working with JF but it looks like a different producer credited on this track. It's pretty intense. I love that it just comes out swinging. It got a little too djent-y / jazzy near the end for my tastes. But I'm stoked for new Spiritbox music.
In a way by the lyrics, it can looked at as a call out to the old guard. Maybe reflecting to the grammy snub with fans good with old reliable (Metallica) instead of change and adapting giving the future sounds a chance. Then there's society as a whole you see being cowards and having "Soft Spines" hiding behind injustices. Instead of standing up to whomever's referred to as 'The King' (regicide), that can be any number of things that has a sickening following.
i hope this means they're out of their radiostream type of music phase. because the band lost me with the past 4 singles and their last EP. it just didn't sound like Spiritbox. This song sounds closer to their Holy Roller days which was near their peak being the Eternals album. that was a damn good album so fingers crossed the next one is in the realms where i can proudly say "this is spiritbox"
Honestly, I felt ALMOST the same. The only thing that brought it down for me that extra peg was something you criticize Imminence for (yeah, I AM calling it out here): saying the name of the song in the chorus. Saying the name SEVEN times. If I hear it 2-3 times, maybe 4. Ok. They wrote the song and named it what they named it for a reason. The ONLY reason it makes sense to say it 7 times? The song is pretty forgettable and lacks the dynamic that gives Courtney's vocals their power in other heavy songs. This was pretty monotonous, and aside from some slightly different riffing, the instrumentals were just average too. 6.8
Man, another little 3 minute, simple sounding pure metalcore thing that doesn't really leave an impact on first listen. I was under the impression that they were going to be proggy again with their next album, I hope this isn't the style for every track. It just doesn't do enough for me, compared to something like the new single Opeth put out on the same day that had me bobbing my head even though it's weird and not very metal.
Heavy Spiritbox or Melodic Spiritbox?
I love both 💪🔥
Melodic all day
Heavy!
Melodic.
But tbh, no Spiritbox at all too.
both
Courtney sounds pissed!! Spiritbox does whatever they want and I love that we get so much variety from them. My favorite modern metal band for sure.
Courtney mentioned in an interview that they were working on their 2nd album, and it would come out at the end of the year. So, my guess is this is going to be from the new album.
I can't believe Eternal Blue is almost 3 years old now. I literally had to look up the release date lol.
@@dravenripley9468 I went to the release party here in LA back in September 2021. Three years already.
RIP Bill
This is the first tease of their second album. It was reported at the start of year that they were working on their second album with Jordan Fish.
Jordan Fish isn't credited on this Song
@@rukasu02, probably not the whole album. We might see some songs with his production later down the line
They are not
Man this band is just perfect, whatever if they go melodic or heavy.. they simply NEVER miss!
Rest in peace Bill ♥
Surprise Spiritbox release right after the Linkin Park announcement/reveal?!
I want whatever Mike was on while writing the guitars lol.
and after new Allt
He was on some Darko like stuff hehe
He's dang creative. One of my favs for sure.
Belcara will always be my forever preferred type of spiritbox heaviness. RIP BILL 🖤
Yyesss and angel eyes.
What a week for music, Spiritbox, Allt and of course Linkin Park
Yeah new releases slowed down for about a week. Now I'm overwhelmed with new releases lol. So much to check out.
Production on the vocals (and overall) made up for the structure/themes feeling more predictable. It scratches a very specific itch instead of many and I am here for it, especially with the axe to the face line ‘You all deserve each other’.

Who’s your first favorite band?
@@equinoxnemesis6170 its a swedish band called In Flames. Not the most popular band but they have a special place in my heart since i was a kid
The Danza tapping at the end is very Fall In Archaea era Mike haha love it!
I thought the same thing!
These lyrics are also blunt af and pissed, which is VERY unusual for them! Who pissed off Courtney??
I don’t want any noodles in my spine. I enjoyed finally being able to make a live stream for once today and see you react to this in real time! I think this is a nice blend of their roots but in a modern setting. And it definitely comes off as their first pissed-core song and I’m living for it 🤘🏻
Even more excited to be seeing them in less than 2 weeks!
Delicious punch in the sternum track. On repeat the last week!
this was a solid bop. and what you said about live setting is huge, for example seeing them live: Hurt You, hit way harder, and it surprised me how much more effective it works live. They have a few tracks like that.
Her screaming sounds a little different here too. It sounds good.
Today was good day for my spotify playlist: it sugested me new The Browning song, Linkin Park new song was more than decent, and Spiritbox dropped something out of nowhere..
Ikr? Also new Allt and Resolve are incredible! You might wanna check those out too
Allt Echoes is the song of the month.
When his vocals get pissed, it genuinely sounds monstrous. As opposed to a plodding slab of one vocal like this song was.
Intense groove and guitars, what a band, insane!
Definitely a party anthem. Live setting crowd is jumping chanting soft spine I see it. Another banger! Noodle spine lol
😂

Checkout Slaughter to Prevail if you want some really heavy modern Russian deathcore.
RIP Bill. Gone but not forgotten.

Mike went crazy on this song. The guitars are absolutely amazing
I appreciate the riffs more on repeated listens.
he goes off on every song. Dude is a riff genius.
I think it's an awesome song, I've been listening to it a lot!
Soft Spine goes hard
Feel like this is the closest we've got to Iwabo. Very strong Hail Mary vibes several times in this. Not sure if intentional but there's for sure a callback

This slaps so fuckin hard... my god it's been on repeat all day
That ending has some Danza vibes. Which hallelujah.

They can’t knock it out of the park every time but Noodle Spine was a solid track. Thanks for giving me the heads up Birb.
I got HUGE Joshua Travis vibes from the riffs in this one, BANGER
This song is my current obsession
Interesting. The instrumentals are very Numetal and the cadence of the vocals are too. The delivery of the vocals however is pure deathcore. I like it
shit goes hella hard!
A filthy diss track - Love It!
love the 'r.i.ip bill' ❤ what a legend
0:35 famous last words lol
Noodle spine 🍜 🦴
Man, rest in peace Bill Crook ❤❤❤
Spritbox crossed with Celldweller... perfect.
Noodle spine 🍜 can’t wait to see them in October!
Certain parts of this song really remind me of koRn especially the chorus, it’s such a banger I love spiritbox

Love this! Soft Spine ... Maybe this is going to be soft 😂 Noodlespine LOL
That drop. That fucking drop 😅
nice song. notice the visualizer looks a lot like sleep tokens ascenionism visualizer
Essa música ficou brutal. 🤘🏻🔥
Silk In The Strings is more of an "a**-beater of a song than Holy Roller.
Sounds like Loathe
Filllllthy 🤠
Just in time for me to see this live in salt Lake next month 😎
Anyone remember when people said Spiritbox was selling out for radio? Yeah, me neither lol
Courtney letting the world know
She’s the top female vocalist in the scene right now

Is this spiritboxes first actually angry song ? All other heavy songs are heavy but not really angry. Do you know what I mean ?
Noodle spine I loved it
Whoever pissed off Courtney...
We are here for it! 🔥🔥🔥
Heavy all the way thur absolutely 0 CONS for me 🔥🔥🔥🔥🤘
spine noodle this reaction was pretty cool
I kind of want and enjoy the softer side of SB.
NoodleSpine for justice. The track felt a bit repetitive to me, but it might have a good spot in a full length.
Mick Gordon Core, which..
I would love a SB/MG collab
Guitars are cool but now waiting for second single which I assume would be more melodic song
Noodle spine lmao. Damn bruh i kinda expected you to rate it low but 8 is very good!
Sounds like Harper. Awesome song though
Please react to the Poppy + Spiritbox version of this :)
Noodle spine🤘
Have you ever heard mew - introducing palace player? It's not metal but..
I've never assumed that? Lol

"You all deserve each other" ?
just curious but does anyone know if he is still dating the chick who used to be in the videos? havent seen her in like 3 years
They need to try getting back into the more proggy stuff.
Always a good day when we can say "WTF Courtney!?"
Certified noodle spine moment

This song reminds me a lot of Polaris and like Currents - The Death We Seek. Cool song nonetheless
