Getting similar vibes to Constance, in the best way possible... this band is utterly flawless. Cleans, screams, production, riffs, drums... it's magic. Spiritbox evokes emotional states in me that no other band ever has approached.
Really happy with Mike’s riffs on both tracks. Seems like he’s been going a bit more techy early SB which sounds awesome with Courtney’s vibey vocals and JOSH finally on the record! I’m very happy with this.
Experiments are fun. I liked their experimental pieces to give themselves a bit of a refresh and to show they aren’t one sided. However much like you said their formula works for them. The music is straightforward but they make it fun. Courtney’s clean vocals have so much power and the guitar work is always enjoyable and fun to follow.
I’m loving that these two latest releases have B&W visuals but are so different both musically and visually. There’s so much in the palette-colour choice, texture (abundance of and contrast), references-and then content that makes their work so thematically rich. They give us so much to unravel without ever hitting us over the head with it. Ethereal but dark af, catchy but complex, true to their sound but still changing. Huge props to Versa for matching their sound so well, I look forward to new music videos as much as new music 🖤
For me, thats the radio friendly hit. I know it will not be my favorite song on the album, but like every other songs from Spiritbox, I will not skip it. Its a good « in the middle » Spiritbox song. Its the only band that pulls out that kind of track that i love so much. Gotta say : one of my favorite band since they exist. Btw, love you and your reactions metalbirb! Keep on going!
This is possibly their best ever song IMO. I love it so much. It has everything. It's heavy but not in an aggressive way, in a emotional way. It's got perfect atmosphere, the riffs are simple enough to be catchy but they're still interesting. The harmonies on the chorus are absolutely unreal. Everything about this song is 10/10 for me.
Loved their last EP The Fear Of Fear if their next album went somewhere along those lines while also incorporating some newer sounds we never heard from them before that would be cool.
I'm the same, but sadly that isn't how it works these days with releases, the band has to keep hitting the marketing beats on social media, merch updates, single releases and tour announcements. It's a funny game of 'look at me' that most modern bands have to play in order to stay relevant in the breakneck pace of internet society.
Needs more Josh. I love that they incorporated his voice more this time around but I would love a chorus or two with just Josh. But I guess if (god forbid) Josh isn’t in the band anymore. It makes it more challenging to replace this spot
I'm a spiritbox shill, so any song they release i love. But the name spiritbox is fading for me. It just lacks the darker edge/ Erie nature that their debut displayed, along with tracks like electric cross/belcarra. It left you going wtf did i just listen to instead of it's another banger.
I think this album is going to between Singles Collection and Eternal Blue and i love that because Singles Collection has eerie vibes and disgusting breakdowns and Eternal Blue has so good clean songs. also Electric Cross is one of my favorite song from them.
