Yeah, me too - left outta here too for Boot Camp (Ft Sill, OK) in 1996. I remember standing there waiting in the terminal for my flight, and watching all the in-bound flights coming in for landing, and I was just awestruck when I looked off into the distance (the in-bound flight path) and saw a line of planes ALL coming in for landing, but were still many miles out, it was crazy!
nice job . ive been wanting a video just like this: 757 , front engine view ,good sound,no editing out taxing , engine start up not being ruined by safety briefing .that hardly ever happens . Added to favs !
Thank you! Have been looking for AA flights landing and take offs .... My father retired in the 1990's as Capt. for AA and this was one of the planes he flew. He passed away Oct. 28, 2022.
I've have worked on many AA 75s. Flown on them as well. In the jetage, this was the best plane Boeing EVER manufactured. RR engines were the best. Boeing needs to get there act together, and restart the 757 lines again.
@17:36 in the distance you see the Naval air station North Island, home to a number of carriers and many naval aircraft. In fact you will be staring down a main runway. Google maps if you want to see how close to the airport.
Most convenient airport in the world, within walking distance of hotels, restaurants, downtown, the Amtrak station, and cruise ship terminal. If you every fly to SAN, make sure to sit on the left hand side of the aircraft for an amazing view of the city on final approach.
Great video. Great power in those engines and such a beautiful sound. My guess this American was heading to either Chicago or Dallas, but that doesn't really matter. San Diego is always great from the air. Especially on the westbound "white knuckle" approach!
Super nice take off video, the AA B757 in the polished metal livery is just so beautiful. I flew out of Lindbergh an hour after your flight on a UA CRJ bound for LAX. I took this AA flight in January but much to my dismay the B757 was substituted for a ex USAIR A321 :-S
Dan B i thought the same thing because these engines are very high performance. The power percentage is usually 89-95 percent full power. But the engines sound very relaxed.
What is the cabin pressure like on 757? I have slight breathing issues and will be flying from Edinburgh Scotland (my home) to Chicago o'hare in 2 weeks. Should I be okay?
When I flew the 757, I didn't feel any difference between that and any other aircraft I've ever been on. However, if you have a medical condition, I would encourage you to talk to a doctor or another medical professional if you have a concern about pressurization :)
+Pinchie08 Some of these videos are recorded by my father on his travels around the country, and he's a fairly tall man, so he'll get aisle seats on the majority of his flights. Every now and then though, he'll take a window.
Why didn't they name the airport after the men who flew non-stop across the Atlantic nine years before Lindbergh? Oh I know, it's because they were British and not American
There is nothing like the B757!!! Such a powerfu and sleek majestic bird! I absolutely love flying on the B757 is awesome
I love the sound of those Rolls Royce engines
Flew into S.D. On my way to Boot Camp in 75. Flew on PSA.

Wow! I haven't seen that view, since the Fall of 1974.
Thusly, the back gate, Airport side of the MCRD.
I LOVE THE LOOK OF THAT AMERICAN AIRLINES PLANE AT THE START!!
Another great one guys, thanks. That 757 really has the power. Loved the left turn, very smooth. Lindbergh Field is pretty amazing for the one runway.
+DansJets I agree! Thank you for watching!

Well the safety briefing adds the feels to the whole thing, to me without the briefing its soulless

Has taken place MILLIONS of times yet never gets old!!!!
MCRD San Diego is right across the street. I miss those days.. Lol
Wow,this 757 really has good take off power, good view to,was stationed there many good years.😊
Hola sodxzi. Izxzix cv æxixffxisfcx o o😅😙😙😅😚😅
Great video! There's nothing like the 757 in the old American livery. :D
16:50 for actual takeoff, over halfway through the video

Great video. Flew out of there myself a few days ago. Thanks for the 25 minute vacation ;-)
Love the RR's! Amazing sound no aircraft can beat.

At 22:57 you can see the site of the PSA flight 182 crash just off the tip of the engine

best takeoff sound ever
i love airplanes hell yeah
I love it on full speed when the engines buzz.
Pinchie08 me too it's an amazing feeling to be on a plane!
Never flew out of San Diego but flew out of John Wayne on Southwest around Christmas. I love California weather. Nothing like humid Texas!
I completely agree! The humidity here is the worst.
Charles Ramsey yes! California rocks
RB211 relax my ears. Boeing 757 my favorite plane
I love flying out of SAN. Get those high power takeoffs! Great video :)
+planesguy Thank you, glad you enjoyed!!

Lovely onboard takeoff footage! Nicely filmed! Liked :-D
+Traveller Thank you so much!! Your like is much appreciated :)
You are welcome :-D

Very cool video, nice shot of San Diego.
This is an awesome video. Way to go!!!

the 757 is a beautifle aircraft i wish i could fly one
Amazing video I loved the takeoff and the view of the airport
+GeminiJets Texas16 Me too! I always try to get a good aerial view of the terminals.
I sure am going to miss my beloved 57
The best part of visiting San Diego is flying out of it!
Where in San Diego did you visit? That has Alot to do with hiw well your trip goes..
Gotta love that steep climb out of SAN.
I'd rather be landing in San Diego but both experiences are beautiful.
It's been nice seeing so many AA 757s coming here the last few months. I hope it lasts.
CoastersBolts it didn't :(
Great takeoff!
+Mah584jr HD Aviation Thank you so much!!
Something about the growl makes me feel at ease on a 757.
Dan B i thought the same thing because these engines are very high performance. The power percentage is usually 89-95 percent full power. But the engines sound very relaxed.
What causes the growl?
Ugh, I hate these engines. Sounds like a hairdryer gone out of control
yixnorb the tips of the fanblades going supersonic
Me too!!!
Great video mate! Congrats!
Thank you!!
Beautiful aircraft!
powerful sounding engine
amazing footage && sound !
I just love the Stork.
I m already round American airlines flight nice one for me
I love how it says “AA.com” on the winglet!😀
San Diego always looks so brown from the air but not on the ground.
Did they recently redo the Tarmac there? Sorry if it's a stupid question but I haven't flown out of or in to San Diego in years! Looks great!
Looking like they are driving to their destination
what airport is that off to the left? is it an army base or something?
+Larry Peters That would be Naval Air Station North Island!
Its my fav and local airport. Its Public not Army Base like North Island
What is the cabin pressure like on 757? I have slight breathing issues and will be flying from Edinburgh Scotland (my home) to Chicago o'hare in 2 weeks. Should I be okay?

I did have a little breathing issue on the 757-200
What’s the flight number on this I would like to fly from Miami or Fort Lauderdale on this
Awesome Video.
Thank you! I was happy to get on another 757 before the year is out.
17:18 Alaska -900 w/o winglets.
I noticed that to the big arch way OOH RAH !!
It’s like the Captain was revving the engines as they started taxiing 😂😂
Hi, was seat 10 a good seat? Did the exit door interfere? I'm just wondering because I'm choosing between that and seat 12 on my next flight! Thanks.
If you sit in the back of the plane it's very loud at full speed.
How come the video felt wavy?
The sound you hear is courtesy of PRATT& WHITNEY
Nope... AA 757's have RB 211's (made by Rolls Royce)
Im here because Im flying on this exact plane tomorrow and I hate flying. Great video but... doesnt help :(
danny how was it ?
danny 1 year later I ask you again how was it :D
Looks like Alias gave up… but I’ll fill in. Danny I ask again 5 years later how was it?
Great sound in this video! What camera did you use? Nice job!
Thank you!! Just my iPhone 6!
His cell
Does American still have the 757's in San Diego?
As of right now, no. It's all A321 or 737-800, (with regionals to LAX).
Thank YOu
Take Off is at 16:30 🙄
Why didn't you record landing at DFW? And why didn't you record your flight back to San Antonio?
+Pinchie08 Some of these videos are recorded by my father on his travels around the country, and he's a fairly tall man, so he'll get aisle seats on the majority of his flights. Every now and then though, he'll take a window.
noisy engines, what are they?
pussy wet 5000
Rolls Royce RB211. Amazing engines.
TrustyMarlin63 damn right!!
This was filmed on my B-Day
Is that a 767-300 next to you when you're getting pushback?
No, that's another 757 I believe.
Jordan Bullis No an 757
She is a DHL freighter now 😔
Why do pilots favor the 757 so much?
Why didn't they name the airport after the men who flew non-stop across the Atlantic nine years before Lindbergh? Oh I know, it's because they were British and not American
maria cornwallis
Well, this IS the United States...
Lindberg Field is the site of the building of the "Spirit of St. Louis". Charles Lindberg had his plane built here.
On a similar note, North Island NAS is the birthplace of Naval Aviation.
I came for the RB211
Me 2 :D
15:35 - "Jesus Christ"
What happened? Did somebody fart?
ha
?
Somebody whispered, "Jesus Christ" just before the engines spooled up for takeoff.
I heard it XD. *fart* oh... well it was mai...
The people are ruining the roar of the plane
Cruise baby cruise
What's that awful noise??? I be freakin out..
