Your videos exude the quiet thoughtfulness that I relate to. I find myself saying, "exactly!" while watching you! We are in the market for a small loveseat and a midsize sectional for 2 different rooms. I've been hunting for 2 years already! It's so hard to find something that is affordable and good quality. Because we are sensitive about textures, it's even harder. I'd buy used, but can't find sofas that are in good enough condition. The ones that are have a "like new" price tag. All I want is an immaculate, perfectly sized, linen or real leather Chesterfied sofa that costs a few hundred dollars...is that too much to ask??? 😂 Keep up the cool content!
Thank you Melissa!! I really appreciate you saying this and I love that you say “exactly” out loud! EOL haha PS I know that feeling and I’m going to keep an eye out for you!!
Decorating with the 5 senses in mind is so useful, thank you! I can work on the smell much more. Touch is covered in my home, with my velvet sofa and other materials. And I love to listen to music, in the background. Mostly classical music, like Bach and the choral music of Palestrina, but also (religious) Indie Folk and of course Parisian/France songs. I used to be a music teacher. For the windows in my livingroom I chose roman blinds, because my space is so small, and it gives me more breathing space than drapes. The linen texture gives warmth. I agree that vintage and thrifted finds are more emotional than big store items. However I think that when chosen carefully for that one spot in your home, it can work also. When you don't buy an item to follow a trend, but when you get it because it communicates perfectly within your home. Not too matchy matchy, but with its own voice. For me it is about balance. In a personal setting a big store item can become a personal object of affection. Preferably combined with vintage, thrifted, memories and heirlooms etc.
Yes you do have a lot of great texture indeed Grady 💛 I’m inspired by your music choices-I should listen to more classical-I’m a Schubert lover. I do agree on mixing the old with the new, with a curated eye and a sensitivity to materials, as well as staying true to your home story/voice. I often purchase vases from Zara Home and find they’re actually well made! For me it’s about the trendy shapes and objects that everyone has in their home and also that are predictable-that starts to devalue these items. I’m striving to inspire others to find their own unique voice as well as have that sensitive eye. I’m not worried about you, you are very artistic and I see you have the eye!
@@ChristinaDiStefanoStudio Yes, I agree, trendy and predictable items loose their value. I love that you help us to develop our own unique voice. It took me a while to get my own voice. Dark periods help, although difficult and painful, but when there is a way out, it gives depth and growth. I love interiors where one can see a person has lived. Would love a video on how to go about decorating in rentals. I have the hardest time making big commitments to furniture or even accessories. From my experience, furnishings and decor never look the same when you go from one place to the next. It’s so hard to want to fill up your home with things, knowing you won’t be there forever or even in the next couple years. But then it just never feels like home without adding to it. @@Senia0903 I can definitely create a video for that. Perhaps how to invest in furniture and accessories that can be more adaptable to a variety of spaces? @@ChristinaDiStefanoStudio Yes! Maybe multi-purpose furniture? My biggest issue is investing in expensive furniture that may not work in a later home. I believe the sense of smell just might be my favorite. It is so powerful in shifting our moods. I love all the senses but this one is special. You are creating memories for yourself and your guests taking this time to make your home smell beautiful 🤍 So lovely to see you here babe 🤗
Hello lovely! So inspiring the way you have added the five senses to curate our sanctuaries. I will be returning to this video again for inspiration. I love a subtle fragrance in my home, but some can be overwhelming when I burn them. Wish I could find a good palo santo candle. Love me some good mood music…all depends on my mood, but I often play soft jazz when cooking dinner. 😊
Hello my dear! Oooh I love Jazz too. Great music to cook to. So good... I will keep an eye out for a good palo santo candle. Nothing smells as good as the real thing it seems. I have also been looking for this--and also frankincense and clove. I suppose that's very fall but I go based on my mood and time of day. I am highly sensitive to fragrance and so I must always be cautions so it doesn't over power or give me a headache!
Enjoyed your video again. My favorite part: examples of trendy decor. You features some of my favorite yucky things. Looking forward to design dilemmas.
My fav mood music is bladverk band, hara noda, Oakwood station, John Coltrane mostly jazz . Thanks for sharing these tips. Have a blessed Easter my darling sister in Christ
Hi Kathy--It depends so much on the rug and pile of the carpet. I don't think it's a no, but I would have to see it to give you my confident opinion. If you feel up to it, DM me a pic on Instagram and I'll use it in the Q&A TH-cam Live I have scheduled for Wednesday. No worries it not--it's a good question and I can answer it broadly on the live too!
Psssh, psssh, psssh. Got it. Scandinavians are all about perfect lighting. They pick and choose where they go out to eat based on the lighting in the restaurants. The author of Danish book about Hygge, said that he goes to a coffee shop that has terrible coffee because they have a cozy fireplace. Now that prioritizing.
Ha! You like my spray technique?! :D I am the same way with lighting. I will not eat at a restaurant if the lighting is bad. It's not a good mood or vibe. It really does so much to create the experience. I don't know about having bad coffee in exchange for a cozy fireplace (I am picking about my espresso), BUT maybe I would opt for tea instead ;)
@@ChristinaDiStefanoStudio I appreciate that this gives those of us who prefer not to burn fires in our homes an option to enjoy candles. I stopped buying them, and now I have a way to enjoy them again😀

I believe the sense of smell just might be my favorite. It is so powerful in shifting our moods. I love all the senses but this one is special. You are creating memories for yourself and your guests taking this time to make your home smell beautiful 🤍 So lovely to see you here babe 🤗
Her videos are just so practical and relatable! Please keep these videos coming!! They make me so happy!!
You got it!! 😉
The drapes outside if a bay window make a huge difference…wow
Right?! So much better and the ceiling feels higher this way
Hello lovely!
Thank you as always for the great content!❤
Hi Pat! Nice seeing you here 🤗 Thank you for watching!!
Love these design tips! Looking forward to your Wednesday Lives!
Yeah!!! Excited to see you there Nicole!
Enjoyed your video again. My favorite part: examples of trendy decor. You features some of my favorite yucky things. Looking forward to design dilemmas.
Hahahaha I know they are so over used. They add ZERO emotional value nor impact to a room. We are creating homes that mean something to us over here!
My fav mood music is bladverk band, hara noda, Oakwood station, John Coltrane mostly jazz . Thanks for sharing these tips. Have a blessed Easter my darling sister in Christ
Loooove John Coltrane (and jazz). I will be sure to check out the others you suggested--thank you so much for sharing. I love new (to me) music.
Great video! What is your opinion on putting rugs over carpet?
I am the same way with lighting. I will not eat at a restaurant if the lighting is bad. It's not a good mood or vibe. It really does so much to create the experience. I don't know about having bad coffee in exchange for a cozy fireplace (I am picking about my espresso), BUT maybe I would opt for tea instead ;)
Thank you
You’re very welcome 🤗 thank you for watching 🤍
Mug warmer hack is genius!!!! ❤
Thanks babe! I don't know who I learned that from--maybe from an aunt when I was much younger in the 1990s.
2:46-2:53: Brilliant!
Right!? It's a carry over from my younger Yankee Candle days in the 90s. I was quite crafty back then haha :D
@@ChristinaDiStefanoStudio I appreciate that this gives those of us who prefer not to burn fires in our homes an option to enjoy candles. I stopped buying them, and now I have a way to enjoy them again😀
@@civilizeddiva Oh great!!! I love that 🤗

@@ChristinaDiStefanoStudio And I am so happy to hear from you! You’ve been a great lift to my heart! 🥰
@@georgina1921 Likewise Georgina 🤍
Totally agree on buying the same generic decor. I don’t understand why everyone wants to buy the same sculptured pieces that you see all over in everyone’s homes and in every store.
I hear you Lorrain! I personally have no interest in having the same things that everyone else has. I want my home to be unique, and feel like me (and Jerry of course)!
Music: Sade :)
Ohh yes. Love Sade 😉
Great content! You have your wireless mic too far away; I can hear reverb and reflections.
Yes, sadly it's actually on its way out and time for a new one. She was a good mic but her time has come so say goodbye...
💪
😘
I could listen to you talk about design for hours! Thank you for sharing and looking forward to your live session.... I will dm you on Instagram.
Carol, you’re so sweet! Thank you for saying that! I still get nervous with the videos but focus on bring you inspiration for your life and home-so that helps me move beyond that. Looking forward catching you on the YT live 🤗
