    Excellent Christina - a great reminder about all the wonderful ways a home can bring joy and comfort to our lives through indulging our senses. Casa Serenita is looking incredible. I love Hotel Costes too - some of the music was on my wedding playlist (feat. Doctor Rockit)! We still listen to the HC albums on long drives, and it is wonderful to permeate the home with this music, too. I will have a listen to your other recommendations. My remedy music to give a home magical calming-the-heartbeat vibes is 'FKJ Just Piano (In Partnership with Calm)' - the accompanying TH-cam video is worth watching for cozy-as-cozy home music room visuals - by 5 minutes in, the world is set right again - by the end, everyone listening is transformed ha ha. Have a beautiful day. Joanna x

    Your videos exude the quiet thoughtfulness that I relate to. I find myself saying, "exactly!" while watching you! We are in the market for a small loveseat and a midsize sectional for 2 different rooms. I've been hunting for 2 years already! It's so hard to find something that is affordable and good quality. Because we are sensitive about textures, it's even harder. I'd buy used, but can't find sofas that are in good enough condition. The ones that are have a "like new" price tag. All I want is an immaculate, perfectly sized, linen or real leather Chesterfied sofa that costs a few hundred dollars...is that too much to ask??? 😂 Keep up the cool content!

    Decorating with the 5 senses in mind is so useful, thank you! I can work on the smell much more. Touch is covered in my home, with my velvet sofa and other materials. And I love to listen to music, in the background. Mostly classical music, like Bach and the choral music of Palestrina, but also (religious) Indie Folk and of course Parisian/France songs. I used to be a music teacher. For the windows in my livingroom I chose roman blinds, because my space is so small, and it gives me more breathing space than drapes. The linen texture gives warmth. I agree that vintage and thrifted finds are more emotional than big store items. However I think that when chosen carefully for that one spot in your home, it can work also. When you don't buy an item to follow a trend, but when you get it because it communicates perfectly within your home. Not too matchy matchy, but with its own voice. For me it is about balance. In a personal setting a big store item can become a personal object of affection. Preferably combined with vintage, thrifted, memories and heirlooms etc.

    • @ChristinaDiStefanoStudio
      @ChristinaDiStefanoStudio  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes you do have a lot of great texture indeed Grady 💛 I’m inspired by your music choices-I should listen to more classical-I’m a Schubert lover.
      I do agree on mixing the old with the new, with a curated eye and a sensitivity to materials, as well as staying true to your home story/voice. I often purchase vases from Zara Home and find they’re actually well made!
      For me it’s about the trendy shapes and objects that everyone has in their home and also that are predictable-that starts to devalue these items. I’m striving to inspire others to find their own unique voice as well as have that sensitive eye. I’m not worried about you, you are very artistic and I see you have the eye!

    • @gradyvandenbosch
      @gradyvandenbosch 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ChristinaDiStefanoStudio Yes, I agree, trendy and predictable items loose their value. I love that you help us to develop our own unique voice. It took me a while to get my own voice. Has also to do with age, in my case. In my life it took me many years to become the person that feels like myself. Dark periods help, although difficult and painful, but when there is a way out, it gives depth and growth. I love interiors where one can see a person has lived. Wether it is a well curated home, or just a personal collection of things. I feel the same with your video's. Keep em going!

    Hi! New sub as of today! Yay to finding your channel! So relate, with your thoughts and perspectives - we have a similar background - artist - design school - lol, I’m the friend you call when you want to make your house feel better … and the friend who shows up at the door with paint, magazines and coffee!
    So, I’m an older professional with ADHD, but recently was diagnosed with Autism! WTF! OMG - I’m learning soooo much about it, and it’s nothing like the stereotypes I thought. I was so surprised to find out how many ASD folks are interior designers! I now realize my brain is inherently wired with an overwhelming drive/focus/connection to controlling my environment - manifesting in always making my home/space/office cozy, intellectually nourishing, beautifully curated and loved. The built environment is so my jam!
    Ever since I was little I was building interesting forts with boxes, camps and “houses” - arranging furniture - obsessed with lamps, soft and natural light! Anyway - I think some peoples brains are just wired to drink everything in. It’s a spectrum and I’m thrilled to find your content! Thank you!

      I will! :) I think I want to focus on textiles right now, linen cafe curtains in the kitchen to help bring in natural light and our bedding desperately needs a refresh.
      Would love a video on how to go about decorating in rentals. I have the hardest time making big commitments to furniture or even accessories. From my experience, furnishings and decor never look the same when you go from one place to the next. It’s so hard to want to fill up your home with things, knowing you won’t be there forever or even in the next couple years. But then it just never feels like home without adding to it.
      Thank you so much for your response!! 💖

      @@Senia0903 I can definitely create a video for that. Perhaps how to invest in furniture and accessories that can be more adaptable to a variety of spaces? I also think, when moving into a new place, we may need a few more pieces to make the most of existing pieces--if that makes sense. It's all about the layout and working the puzzle so it all looks intentional. Let me have a think on it so it's something more than what you can already find online :)
      Also the video I'm releasing this Sunday should be helpful to you as well! It's going to come with a guidebook that I lovingly made for you all ❤
      PS I listen to videos and podcasts too! I very often work alone and I'm a social person, so I need voices around me! :D

      @@ChristinaDiStefanoStudio Yes! Maybe multi-purpose furniture? My biggest issue is investing in expensive furniture that may not work in a later home. But lower cost (on a new piece) means lower quality most of the time so I also see that as a poor investment. I think I want to turn my attention to FB marketplace for timeless solid wood furniture that need some TLC, but that will last a long time and won’t cost an arm and a leg. Maybe do a few DIY reno’s… 😬 wish me luck! lol
      I’ve watched a few videos on decorating in rentals, but some of the things they suggest means spending on things that won’t be going with me to my next location such as laminating outdated countertops or floors. Maybe I haven’t done enough digging into the subject. Nonetheless, I’ve come to value your artistic perspective on design and so I’d love to hear your thoughts! 💛
      I will definitely make sure to check out your video this Sunday! Thank you for the heads up! 😊

    • @ChristinaDiStefanoStudio
      @ChristinaDiStefanoStudio  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Senia0903 I think FB Marketplace is a great idea. Those older wood pieces were made in a different time when things were so cheaply made-even just 20 years ago! Fast furniture is always tricky, which is why I look for secondhand first for wood pieces, and purchase new if I can’t find what I’m looking for within my time frame-provided the budget works too!
      Keep me posted and let me know how that goes!!! I’m sending you good vibes for great finds!
