    1. Do whatever format and frequency you want, not what everyone else wants. It has to be fun for YOU first! 2. This video is GREAT! Editing and voiceover and overall quality isn't something a LOT of folks put time into and I really appreciate the effort you put in there. Great work!!

      Totally agree, I'm quite new to your channel but despite being an instant fan, I instantly wondered why you're asking your viewers so often what they want. Just make whatever you want, you're damn good at it. Don't bend for your audience, make the audience bend for you and clap their hands in appreciation! You don't owe anyone anything. You can make a living out of what you love doing, that's the dream! Stick to the dream! If your content is good, subscribers will come! Have faith in your qualities! You are awesome!

      Rob Schaap Solder melting point doesn’t reach the temperature which cause lead to vaporise, still the lead dust are dangerous. what you’re referring to is on I.C.E that cause lead to vaporised and it’s harmful. Most of the dangerous fume from soldering come from flux which is carcinogenic. To clarify the misconceptions even lead-free solder are dangerous and why it’s important to have fume extractor.

    Found it on Thingiverse in trending. Great well-thought design, looks really neat. Just wanted to warn you and those who will be using this. This setup ability to draw away fumes is not more than a placebo. The fumes will still be in the room. Get a proper ventilation if you do soldering a lot. Stay safe!

    Great video! I've also thought of making a fume extractor, but never thought of using a carbon active filter, I just thought of blowing it outside my house, but your solution is pretty good too! Also, about the frequency which you post videos at, that guy that got mad at you for the infrequent videos should be grateful that you post videos at all. Dude I love the design. Very innovative. I don’t know if the carbon filter is enough to filter the toxic fumes (if you’re using lead solder) however. My experience comes from air filtered dust collectors (from woodworking). I think combined with another layer you will be HEPA safe? I would look at an N100 mask components and also a Festool vacuum filtering system, which I know will cover how they get down to safe levels of purifying air, albeit that’s not with fumes which is a different ball of wax. If you did research please share cause I’d love to do this as well.

      @ananthpadfoot 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ananthpadfoot oh yea, i forgot to mention. once you have octolapse set up with your dslr, the default is set so that the timelapse is compiled ON the raspberry pi meaning that it will be pretty heavily compressed and the photos are deleted from your camera's storage. what you need to do is set it so that the photos taken on the dslr stay in the dslr. and then i just use after effects to compile it. good luck!

    Cool visual design idea, but I think without a particle filter it is not a proper air purifier. Activated Charcoal is good at filtering solvents and the like from flux, but you also have to worry about particles from the actual molten metal. Just a PSA that activated charcoal is not the end all be all filter, there is a lot more to filtering and you have to use the right tool for the job.
