      It it best to replace whole solenoid or just replace the gasket?

      Hey so was you vtec rev’n up to 4K ? And did you have leaks around the distributor cap as well & b4 you tried this did you try anything else like oil change & clear codes ??

    • @youautoknowjoe
      @youautoknowjoe  ปีที่แล้ว

      No to any of the things you mentioned I had the code so I replaced it. But I have seen where low oil pressure or low oil level can also cause problems with the VTEC system

    When you loosened that bottom 10m on the solenoid did you loosen it from the side or did you position your wrench from the transaxle then up

      Honestly I’m not sure I apologize for the poor quality but if you try with a shorty box wrench or small 1/4” wrench you should be able to get in there

      @@82Devilz if it is just leaking and you aren't getting a code, you can save money by replacing the gasket, but if the CEL is on, then you need to replace the solenoid and gasket to fix the VTEC issue

    Where does the green plug disconnect from having some issues. Because my motor is not the original it is an Acura motor and I can't find where it goes. Don't know if it makes a difference.

    Hi Joe I’m getting the P1259 code on a 2002 4cylinder accord, I replaced the VTEC solenoid but I’m still getting that same code, what else could cause it? Thanks for the help.

      Check oil pressure sensor or do an oil change and change filter

    Hello, I haven't been able to remove the vtec accord 2.3 getting to the bolts is uncomfortable I've tried and I've only loosened one bolt, I don't know what else to do to remove the other bolts 😢😢

    • @youautoknowjoe
      @youautoknowjoe  ปีที่แล้ว

      It is definitely an uncomfortable location. I would recommend to get a stool or step ladder, you kind of have to lay on the engine to get to the back of it. Go in from the side of the engine bay (passenger side)

    Suggest you go back and actually look at this video and tell me again if you would sign your name to it. PISS POOR on so many tangents, missing steps, camera not directed to the actual work-area.......
