Well to be fair, the 59 ambulance version of those Cadillac are hard to come by, especially when most left are scooped up by fans lol but they could have picked a better decade of the newer ones, but they could have just borrowed a fans lol

ha ecto 1 rides again. ( fun fact: did you know that the car your seeing here is not just no orinalry ecto, but the famous ecto 1a from ghostbusters 2. thet took ectoa and refurbished it for and screen dress as ecto 1. So yay this car was in ghostbusters 2 and afterlife.
It’s great knowing that the least loved Ectomobile is up and running again. Though personally I wish the Ecto-1A really was in the movie and the final showdown with Gozer would’ve been the perfect time for it to return. Say before Gozer is about to electro-fry Callie and Phoebe, a siren is heard coming towards the farm. Gozer turns to see the 1A breaking through the spiraling inferno cloud as it suddenly fish tails, revealing the rusted “No-Ghost 2” logo (a reference to the arrival at the Sedgwick Hotel). The Terror dogs give a confused head tilt and then (starting from the boots and panning back) the remaining 3 OG ghostbusters are fully revealed, as Ray says “Hello flat top.” and Peter following with “Have ya missed us?” This would’ve more logically explain how Peter, Ray and Winston got to the farm. Cause come on, are we really expected to believe that these guys just stuffed all their equipment into a normal car, park outside the inferno cloud and walk to the farm?
What a relief, cause there’s only 200 to 400 of these Miller Meteor’s left. This scene as well as the rest of the ghostbusting and action scenes, follow the CGI rule perfectly, Only use CGI when practical effects can’t do what the script writes them to do.

Ecto-1A is a car that belongs to the fans. As for Afterlife, the most obvious car moments when it’s CGI are the close-up shots (interior and some exteriors). And in this scene, the shots of the car in the air and landing are the ONLY shots wear it’s CGI. HOWEVER, ALL the other shoots of the car were done for real. That car really was hauling ass through the corn field and the streets of Summerville.

Oh boy the sound of when he slammed the door, reminds me of this '64 Bedford truck that we used to have on our family farm (sold it just this year) or any old car really, because the doors sounded like that went you opened and closed them. Heck even hearing the engine (the 390 I mean) reminds me of old cars. But the question is here, is that the former 1A we see at the start and was that the 390 we hear at the start also? It also seems like this Trevor kid is a bit of a rebel too and the music adds onto the whole "rebellious teenage boys" vibe. But it also kind of reminds me of worlds strictest parents, where these two teenagers were sent to the Australian outback (the kids were only allowed to watch Christian shows) and the boy stole the wife's car and ended up having the cops called on him. Which is also ironic, because I have herd after they catch Muncher, they end up being arrested by the cops...
the movie is still in theaters i think we could understand the excuse of bad quality. I'm just thankful to see it again without going back to the theater

It might not, those old cars are fairly solid, but being inside during the bump would certainly suck for the occupant.
