  • In this video I will talk about the 7 main pitfalls of getting blurry photos and how to avoid them, no matter which camera you use. And I will test if AI can help to unblur blurry photos at the end of this video.
I am Oliver, a Street Photographer from Germany with a big love for Italy - mainly Turin. But i am a passionate traveller as well - check out my website krumes.com for photos i´ve made on my journeys to Myanmar, Japan, Bangladesh, USA or China. I´ve been shooting Street Photography for nearly 20 years now. In 2016 i started to teach Street Photography workshops. I had solo and group exhitibions in Germany, Austria, Hungary and Italy, published my first Street Photography book "Immerse light, embrace shadows" last year and was juror for international photo contests. This channel is for all Street Photography beginners and pros - if you have any requests for future videos, please leave a comment - very curious about your opinions. Oh, and I am still a beginner in this TH-cam thing so your comments help me a lot - and please forgive me my bad English...

How many times I have smiled while listening and watching your video!! Same here right at the beginning when you say 'Imagine' and the John Lennon photo flashes into the picture. Your humor is unbeatable, and look: the English word for unbeatable even has a Beatle in it ;-).
Point 1: Hold your breath and take the shot - this is good advice, but also very dangerous if you after taking a photo suddenly forget that you need to breathe again. It could have been the last photo you took in your live. ;-).
Regarding point 2: Human movements: Do you know what happens in Göttingen, for example, if you only focus on what shutter speed you choose and how you can or cannot move the camera? Before you know it and before you even see anyone, you will be run over by cyclists and if you don't have a firm grip on your camera then this situation is dangerous not only for you but also for all the equipment you are carrying. And then even a blurry photo ( which you show in your video at 3:16 ) of those who caused the accident is no longer possible - let alone capture a nice motion effect of another person around you - with or without a hat like this 3:35 ;-).
Please don't think that I didn't pay attention to what you said, I just smiled a lot. For example, I would never in my life think of holding a sandwich with the same hands that I use to hold the camera. You even use an imaginary “third hand” to hold the cloth you use to wipe the lens. I don't even have that many hands!! ;-)
Don't get me wrong - you did a really good job of giving us informations we need. Schön ist, dass du es auf diese unterhaltsame Weise tust. ;-)

I cropped off the tops of two subjects' heads last week and was able to regenerate the tops of a hat and a hairdo with Photoshop AI. Looked really great.

It's crazy, isn't it? And we're just in the second year of AI becoming really a thing to use for everybody...

Hi Maria! Right now there are no plans for workshops in Portugal but who knows - I´d love to travel to Portugal very soon. You will see announcements for workshops on my Instagram and on my website streetphotographyberlin.com (only 1:1 workshops at the moment) Cheers and best to beautiful Portugal!

Absolut! ;-) Erkennt man die Herkunft an dem Semmelmuster?

Ja, und der Witte ist einfach die Anlaufstelle für Fischsemmeln auf dem Viktualienmarkt. Man kann ja als Bayer auch nicht immer LKS essen.

    One question keeps unanswered:
Is a non blurry picture even interesting???

Good question! I guess - it depends. When I do blurry portrait shots I guess the reaction of my customers won´t be "Oh, that's interesting!" ;-)
