This video comes at a very opportune time…. I’m in rope tech class and having a hard time figuring out how to tie this based on the instructors direction. I think I’ve always tied it going away from me…. Gotta get some reps in now! Thank you very much!
It's all about practice! Once you've mastered it sitting around, you need to walk around and try to apply it wherever you can. You would be amazed at how many people can tie a knot standing in a circle with their fire buddies but add some different environments and they become lost. Good luck with your class btw.
It is one of many knots I use. One of the places I use to use it in conjunction with a truckers hitch but found that the timber hitch* was easier to untie though it is quite as pretty. (* the loop is made by putting a a few twists then create another loop by pulling the lead through the loop created by the twist).
Have you tried a slip knot for the truckers? I should make a video on that as so many people use the truckers hitch. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers
@@perryfire3006 Using a slip knot on the trucker can jam using the loggers hitch method never jams. It was taught to me by a carny for setting up tent rigging.
