    This is good. Plus I just add a little more cordage at the end to make a quick release bight.

    I've tensioned this loop with a pulley system, and didn't have any problem untying it... What are those cases, when it's hard to untie this loop?
    UPD
    I tensioned it a little tighter, and now a see, how it can be troublesome to untie.

    Hi Mark. Not perfection as will slip. Especially in Paracord. A substitute for a half blood knot but not for the bowline. Thanks.

    If you wrap the tag end around twice instead of once you get a double dragon knot.

  • @bryantreacher5793
    @bryantreacher5793 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    The way you have tied this knot would be the way one ties it as in the bight method ,you can make it by tying a slipped over hand knot way .also one can tie this into a bend like the bowline bend,but you have to start by tying two over hand knots first and feed the ends into each other.

    Don't say, 2:17 "over the top..." Just say through "into the loop."
    I kept getting it wrong, because I was actually trying to go "over the top" of the loop.
    However, thanks for the video

      Bless ur soul. You r doing a beautiful job of making people focus on these creative projects thru ur art, it inspires me to take my time out instead of reading and watching bad news on tv and newspapers. Doing / watching ur projects helps me find better connection with myself.

      You are quite right about the news! We mostly live a very stressful life nowdays. Working with your hands as we do in braiding requires focus and patience. Relaxing and practical to boot.

    Why is it called an angler's loop?

    • @fakecubed
      @fakecubed 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Anglers (aka fishermen) use this knot to tie a hook onto the end of a fishing line.

      @randyrussell6246 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@fakecubed I am a Fisherman of 55 years, fished in lakes ,creeks rivers and ocean, for many types of fish and I've tied many types of Knots .......I've never tied on a hook with this one. Looks as if I missed this one . Just tied it with my loose piece of paracord that I have been practicing on many different knots with , I find it to be super easy with paracord and even doubled back with the loose end to make a quick slip .......but you can forget me tying this with monofilament fishing line.
