Javed Ahmed Ghamidi is a Pakistani Muslim theologian, a Quran scholar, and an educationist. Mr. Ghamidi is a student of Maulana Amin Ahsan Islahi and Maulana Abul A’la Maududi. Mr. Ghamidi has authored several books, including the bestseller ‘Meezan’, in which he presents a comprehensive treatise on the entire content of Islam. Mr. Ghamidi is a researcher and a critical thinker who has challenged many aspects of the traditional Muslim schools of thought on the basis of evidence from Quran and sunnah.

Salam dear sir,
Please guide regarding Zakat on defense saving certificates which will be matured after 10 years.
Further, fixed deposit at bank would be treated as a "Mall" or "awamil"?
If treated as a mall, then 2.5% on principal amount and if awamil then 10% on the annual profit?
In both cases, with holding tax paid to govt @15% on profit will be deducted from the zakat amount??

In different countries we pay different kinds of taxes while as government (in non Muslim countries) don't collect any zakat. Should we pay zakat individually and Should we deduct the amount we paid as tax? Kindly enlighten.

محترم غامدی صاحب سے سوال۔۔۔۔چھوٹا سٹور چلاتا ہوں۔۔۔۔۔وہ بزنس ایک کمپنی کے ذریعے رجسٹرڈ ہے۔ کمپنی کی صورتحال یہ ہے۔ کہ مکمل مال کی قیمت اسے قرضوں سے بہت کم ہے ۔ اس صورت میں کیا ہوگا۔۔۔۔

اپ نے فرمایا کہ کوئی مال خواہ ایک رات پہلے آیا ھو تو اس پر بھی زکواۃ ھو گی ؟ کیا ایک سال گزرنے کے بعد نہیں ھو گی ؟ یعنی جو مال ایک سال تک جمع رھے ، صرف اس پر زکواۃ نہیں ھو گی ؟ ؟؟

کچھ سوال تو وہ ہیں جو عام طور چلے آرہے ہیں لیکن جو غامدی جی نے ہوٹل دوکان کی بات کی ہےان پر غامدی صاحب کا نظریہ غلط ہے
