Big Update! I’ve learned thanks to Scott Uhl’s in depth review, that these actually have an auto scan feature which is a game changer at this price point! For some reason, when I checked this function wasn’t even included in the Phenyx Pro website, instruction manual (?!?!) or anywhere on the Amazon listing when I bought it, but I’ve tried it and confirmed it works! Check out my update video here! th-cam.com/video/qFpgGePePXs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=LQrqjLhu4m7DhfqN I’ve reached out to Phenyx Pro about the design issue and plan to upload an update talking about the auto scan feature and any solution offered by Phenyx Pro once I hear back!! With this auto scan feature, I’m going to give these units another shot, and use some kind of adapter/ short XLR cable to get around the design flaw just like many of you recommended! Phenyx Pro still takes an L on the design, but makes up for it in that I think that the positive of having auto scan outweighs the negative of having to use an extra cable/adapter! This is why I love TH-cam - I would have not known about the auto scan feature and the idea to use an adapter otherwise!! Thanks for the suggestions!!
@@masterpdj2623 Thanks for watching! Great solution - that’s definitely the best solution to this, and not too hard/pricey to do. Im going to try that out at a gig and maybe consider keeping the product if it goes well! Definitely like you said they should’ve caught that and for something that’s supposed to be convenient and quick it would be nice not to have to remember to pack an extra cable or dongle to make it work properly! Thanks again!
Thanks for watching! Thats a great tip -- I'm going to try doing that myself! Hopefully Phenyx Pro will just do that from the factory now before shipping these out.
@@lasrocasent thanks bro!! Haha yessirrr STS sneak peek bro ✊🏽✊🏽 definitely man it can be an easy fix if Phenyx pro decides to fix it and then these will definitely be one of if not the best option out there!
@@lasrocasent for the price it’s def not bad if you don’t mind the design issue!! Or maybe you can cut the extra tabs off with a saw if someone is handy like that 😂
If these work good, to get around the tab problem I would just get one of those XLR barrel adapters that is basically just a short metal tube to extend XLR. Another, and possibly better option, is to get a right angle XLR adapter. This will point the receiver vertically up in the air which I would think would result in better RF reception than having it pointing straight out the back of the speaker.
@@DJ-Coma Thanks for watching! Those are great ideas and yes that idea about the right angle adapter to make the receiver stick up in the air is really good too! I’ve reached out to Phenyx Pro to see what they say, but I think the options you described are going to be the best bet. They do work well connectivity wise, and it’s a shame to have to bring an extra adapter for them to work, but overall it’s not a difficult solution. The other thing I was thinking of was just cutting off that black tab that’s interfering haha. Anyways, thanks for watching and for the great suggestions!
@ no problem! One last question. One of the reviews on Amazon said when it was having reception issues it would make a burst of static noises. I’m curious if that happened to you too when they cut out when you had it at a distance, or was that person possibly getting interference as opposed to signal dropouts?
@@DJ-Coma of course man! So in my testing, when I would get out of range of the unit, I wouldn’t call it a burst of static, but there were those like popping and hissing noises along with the sound cutting out. They would also be soft sometimes, but sometimes they were a bit louder and definitely easily heard. Once I hear back from Phenyx pro, I am thinking to do an update video, because I actually have since learned a surprise that these can auto scan for channels as well (they didn’t even write that in the instruction manual haha). I’ll try to include a range test in there too so you can hear what the popping noises sound like and how often they happen when you’re out of range.
@@elmelmon Thanks for watching! 100% you are on point 🎯 After also finding out that these also have Auto Scan feature, those are my thoughts exactly and I’ll be keeping them now! I just made an update video today talking about this - check it out if you’re interested!

@@MrMaui38 Yeah, they've been good so far, and I prefer the fact that they take a AA battery and are not rechargeable. They're not perfect though, I don't think anyone makes them perfect. @@DJG.Music_ Bro! Yea, I can confirm like he said - these do auto scan!
