  • Tensions rise in an asbestos removal crew, as they work at an abandoned psychiatric hospital that has an unpleasant past. Brad Anderson keeps the menacing atmosphere going without resorting to jump scares, thanks to an excellent cast and perfect location.

    This movie does have one of the creepiest closing lines:
    "And where do you live Simon?"
    "......................I live in the weak and the wounded."

    I was really disappointed with this movie, mainly because at the time the twist ending was quite common around that time, which probably stemmed back to Fight Club.
    It was atmospheric, & as I was watching the movie I had that niggling feeling about the twist & when it appeared I felt cheated & disappointed.
    Ironically when Shutter Island came out, I thought this is an over the top Hollywood version of Session 9.
    Wheelchairs I don't get as to why they're scary, but people with disabilities have been portrayed as villains, so there's that stigma attached to wheelchairs & people who use them.
