To think this film rewrote Eric Bana’s image to the point where the mainstream either forgot or didn’t even know he was a popular comedian in the 1990s. A truly great and underrated actor.

i absolutely adore this movie, but that also might be because this film portrays chopper so closely to how my father used to be that it's almost giving me that sense of safety as if i were a child again. not only does eric in this film look absolutely 1 to 1 to my father back in the day, he even "ages" the same way my father did by gaining weight the same way. it's very uncannily similar to what i see in my father, the paranoia, the unease and just hoping he won't explode, the humor is exactly 1 to 1, the short moments of innocence too. as just an example: my father told me a story about how someone attacked him in front of a night club and he had just hit the guy's teeth out and knocked him unconscious, and my father being somewhat scared and feeling sorry for the guy. cant tell too much though because a lot of the stuff that happened is private. so in some sense, this movie is actually fairly damn realistic even if many of the events were dramatized or made up. if anyone is interested to see the similarity in looks can let me know i guess

Brilliant film, watched it many times. The music that played in the end scene with the cell being locked was great.

Being a Melbourne born bloke, I met Mark (Chopper) Reed just after the film was released when he had a live talk about his life stories. Afterwards, I offered to buy him a beer and he politely said that he has his own. Later on I realised why he declined due to the fact that even though he was free there were most likely people out there who wished him harm.

23+ minutes, great! Have you ever considered to do some compilation episode, like "the movie we seen the past year" or "our favourite movies for every year" so at the end it comes out a longer episode? It would be GREAT

Enjoyed the video guys, that Blu Ray edition looks great, I got a different release like last year and always loved the look of this film and Australian cinema in general. Great Eric Bana performance

I was working at the ballroom on the upper esplanade and bojangles was on the lower esplanada just below it on the beach in St kilda. When i walked out of work at day break i noticed these very luminous lights on over at bojangles. I walked over the esplanade and there was the Turk lying on his side and several police (two detectives) looking over him. But his body was next to the beach road and not next to bojangles. So about 70 metres away from the side exit in the film.

i think the one of the funny scenes is when he shoots bartos and then takes him to hospital and when quizzed by the cops he said "what am I Mark Brendon Medicare Read - what criminal shoots someone and then takes them to hospital it defeats the purpose of shooting them" 🤣

It's weird how Eric Bana has gone from being an A lister to starring in bit parts in movies.
Chopper was brilliant, I remember seeing this years ago. I seem to remember a scene where he's in a bar with his knob out smiling at someone on the other side of the room taunting them I guess.
I did think the final scene was very poignant when he's all alone on his cell.
