This is sometimes called “rendering” and devices like the Dirtywave M8 support this in the box to have your stems or your full track rendered as WAV files 🥲 wish more devices could do this
Thank you for this series! I just got my unit and have run through this whole series to get oriented and begin thinking about my workflow with this very neat little device.
Would recommend recording each part to a separate track in ableton. That way you can add different variations above or below each other along with other song loops too. Then you can mix and match each part
Why not record the different groups as separate tracks in Ableton, though? It won't make a difference for dragging audio files into arrangement view, but it would give you a lot more flexibility to have some fun in session view. You could also apply different effects to the different tracks, etc.
Sure, that would be another way to do it. I just use this method at the moment, because it names the recordings according to the track name. That means I only have to name my track once and all clips belonging to the project will share its name. If I want them to live on separate tracks, I can just drag them to the right and they'll have their own tracks and be ready to launch in a session. Also using just a single track might lead to less confusion in general, like forgetting to change settings etc.
@@smatjoy4202for a lot of people, ableton was the obvious choice due to the style of music they wanted to make when they started. I started with garage band which lead me to logic and I still work there. Trying to learn ableton now though because it excels in electronic music production.
@@SONWU thank you so much for you answer! I already bought my ep 133 and my focusrite Scarlett solo 4th gen to record the audio in my PC! I already understand so much of this universe of KO II for you and your videos, thanks sonwu. My ep 133 arrives tomorrow:’)

If you have the time, would you provide a more thorough explanation on how to do this? greatly appreciated!
@@clockspeed-nu4kj I don't have any MPC at the moment…and I really don't like the new ones due to the heavy reliance on the touchscreen. However, I am getting a MASCHINE soon, maybe that will take it's place ;)
I really like this channel but I am not into the EP133 KOII: Return of the Jedi-Fights-Back-OMG-that-name-is-too-long toy sampler device. I'll be glad when the hype train pulls out the station. 😅
Yeah, I can understand… the hype is quite big on this device. (which, as usual for TE, is due to the amazing design) But it's certainly not THE sampler to get, if I was in the market.
I've been producing since 2008 and never got into sampling, until I saw the KO II. Sure, I can go into my DAW and do it without limitations or get something like an MPC, a TS-404 or even a Deluge. I decided to start with the KO II, because of its intuitiveness and LIMITATIONS; sure, I'm getting a 404 or something else later on to daisy chain it. This toyish piece of gear makes me want put on the AA batteries, my Sennheiser HD-600s, smoke a bowl and jam. I do think that even if you are a pro sampler that already has tons of good gear and experience, this piece will inspire you. It's about the process, not the end result.

i got it and it's awesome, you should get it too!
@@OrangeDrinkMusic Thank you so much 🙏 I am looking forward to seeing you jam with them :)
Iam going to order mines today
11:02 for anyone interested - hold Shift + Pad to solo a track sequence. Don't have Ableton, but still found this useful! Thanks!
I wish there was an option to hit export and automatically give you the tracks ready to be imported into a daw.
Same here :)
I bet someone will come up with a better solution over time, but yeah that’s a missing feature for sure.

Does it work with Propellerhead reason? And another question: Can you save Projekt in the Computer? Thx for your answer 🙏🏽
There will be a tutorial for Logic Pro? 😊
Hi! Sorry, but I don't use Logic…although I think the same principles should apply.

I've tried it in logic. Maybe I should make a video.
I need an audio interface to use the EP 133? :( I want to buy one but i have so many doubts
Hey! In order to record into the computer, yes you need an audio interface.

For some reason ableton does not sync the bpm when I have pressed the EXT button. I have set the settings as mentioned in the video. Any ideas?
Try going into EP-133's menu and see if you are sending MIDI clock out.
