One of the most beautiful and timelessly styled cars on the road. Good to see they are using USB C as well. Might get one of these before there are no sedans around at all.
Driven R Line and I find the suspension is superb. Very comfortable. I dunno what's he talking. Even at Sports mode, ride is not so busy. Extreme Comfort it does feel plush. Not that good but definitely on par with W206 C Class and more comfortable than 3 series. Anyway the "firm" ride quality or Arteon, no car can escape it when they're riding on 20" rims, insane low profile tyres. 19" is the best for compromise of comfort and sports. 18" would be the best for comfort
I waited on this car for the longest time to come to Australian shores, and was pretty sad that its taken this long! I ended up with a '21 Mercedes Benz CLA 250 4matic... It's not that I'm not happy with my CLA and the practicality is decent overall... the arteon just hits different
Ironically enough I actually cross shopping the small CLA 250 4matic and the Arteon. I like the MBXU setup and the styling of the MB. My biggest concern is reliability, how has your cla250 held up so far? would you buy it again?
The car is stunning, I had the old shape but got rid of it when covid meant it was on the drive for months on end. I’ve now got another R-Line on order in Oryx White… I won’t be seeing it for at least 8 months due to chip shortages though! (UK that is)
I placed my order for the exact spec as in this video apart from the rims three weeks ago, 8 months wait as well, tho used to be a year+. My passat took 3 months (same factory) 4 years ago.
You don’t have to slide it you can just touch like a normal button on the corresponding colour or symbol for what you want to do. No need to slide finger for anything
This year the US is getting a 300 HP / 295 tq tune...I'm trying to come up with a performance numbers guess. Absorbing everything I have at my disposal, lol, I am predicting a 5.4 0-60, 13.9 1/4 mile, 102 trap for the AWD. I think we can thank the 7spd dsg for 2/3 tenths of the performance numbers.
"You sink into the seats, almost like bucket seats". Ah.. They are bucket seats 😅😅. The shooting brake design looks more interesting, but I wish VW had just called it simply a wagon or estate. A shooting brake body style is a two door wagon, not a four door.
Ok, Vw Arteon start price is 61.000 $ and Audi A7 start price is 55.600 $ . Bmw Sersies 8 start price is 59.650 $. Mercedes-Benz CLS start price is 76.425 $.
Not sure I would trust VW with any fuel tricks, that didn't work out so well last time. Do like the look and style of the Arteon although the interior is a little underwhelming.
I had a Golf R with this same engine in this same state of tune, in mine, that was dake exhaust noise piped into the cabin, I'm pretty sure this is the same.
I own one and videos definitely don’t do the dimensions and styling well, none the less I absolutely love the car, will love to get another one in a few years if it’s still an option, of not then a petrol gti, unfortunately don’t like the styling of their electric cars and I do believe for 2024 their sedans will be swapped over majority for anything sporty or premium
These are the first of VW's PPF equipped cars into Aust. No Euro 5 engines are now available for the Arteon for the Aust market . Big backflip by VW regarding the suitability of their PPF's on Australia's higher sulfur 95/98! Golf , Tiguan, Passat etc will now all follow within the next 12-18 months. Filter replacements could cost up to $8k including labour depending on model , if in a worst case scenario that you do something to destroy the filter which won't be covered under warranty. And yes VW like all other brands here may void warranty as well .Should you accidentally fill with E10 or 91 it will actually damage the filter after just 1 tank.
And being vag which aren't exactly known for long term reliability will probably give grief post warranty when they try and implement new technology we know how it ends up remember DSG, diesel gate
You're probably right. This one is just a little more of a larger spacious car. And a little more luxurious. And the R line has more power than the VRS
@@daniel.s8126 I don't think that guy cares about AWD or FWD. I do ! That's why the Arteon is miles ahead. Transmission wise, maybe it is the same 7 speed DSG. Unless you know more about it. I thought all 7 speed DSG by VW and Skoda are identical or there about.
Why does everything have to be critical. How about they just tell you how good it is. You can then judge the various little details that you want on your own time.
Hate to break this to you but EV tech isn’t ready yet at this price point, in a car with this many features & style at least . And I wouldn’t exactly call a well engineered & PPF equiped engine an “immision” (I think you mean emission?) pumping “dinasaur” (I think you mean dinosaur?)
@@billgates3452 Thanks Bill agreed 4 out of ten for spelling lol, but sorry Bill the VDub (and other emmitters) will still be a heavily deprecating asset in the face of what's locked in and coming......
Actually the biggest depreciating cars will be current electric cars. New electric cars will be better in every way than current generation electric cars and given that they already are $20-30k more expensive it stands to reason their resale value fall the most.
@@henrylawson430 You are spot on, right now the earlier adaptors are over paying while better tech catches up. Personally I think some if not most ICE cars in the future will hold their value fairly well once it’s not an option anymore, maybe not for let’s say a small family SUV or small run about but certainly for enthusiast aimed vehicles, touring & off-road models.

Just had a test drive of Passat today and found it’s excellent to drive. The Arteon should be even better.

I can imagine the Touch screen "sliding" control for the volume and climate control would very annoying and difficult to use while driving.

Will the particular filter block up like on the disel and ruin the engine

At 7.59 and 8.50 crashes over bumps on oversize 20inch rims. I dont get it, its not a sports car
