RdB gang gang I have. I do prefer the regular budokai games. I liked the more linear fighting type still and vanishing that they kinda brought back in dbfz. The open world Tenkaichi ones didn't appeal to me as much. They were still super fun with friends
seeing this game exists just makes me happy. my dad and I would sneak down to watch the new episodes of dragon Ball on toonami when I was a kid and really fostered my love for the franchise so many good memories.

FighterZ sucks on this, and it looks like fucking Guilty Gear: Isuka from 2006 with some antialiasing put on. Seriously. FFS. In Infinite World you can transform Goku to SSJ>SSJ2>SSJ3>SSJ4, DURING ONE BATTLE. You can even do fusion, fuck. In FigherZ you literally have two transforms - golden Frieza (which didn't even appear in the original series, it came much later with all this blue hair bullshit) and Gohan's potential unleashed. For fucks sake. To me it's as good as NO TRANSFORMATIONS AT ALL. These 2 are simply irrelevant. Understood?
For anyone who comes across this video in the future and is on the fence with this game: I will tell you the absolute truth about this game that everyone else seems to be too afraid to admit because they don't want to be labeled "uncool" or some other ridiculous bullshit. Simply put, Xenoverse 2 is any Dragon Ball fan's wet dream. Not even exaggerating. It's basically Budokai Tenkaichi on steroids with many gameplay similarities but more elaborate and polished. It's got highly addictive fighting mechanics that are easy to learn, but hard to master. It has a very nice cel shaded aesthetic that I feel like finally looks exactly like the anime for once. As well as a fantastic soundtrack full of catchy tunes with sounds ranging from 80's rock, to electric metal guitar, to ambient synth and techno (all except for the hub music which is fucking ear drum piercingly terrible for some reason, but thankfully you can change it at any time). It also has RPG elements with deep customization for your created character including TONS of flashy super/ultimate moves plus cosmetics and clothing, a gigantic character roster, over 100 parallel missions that can be played alone or with 2 friends, a cinematic story mode, pvp tournaments, and "raids" which are like 6 player co-op boss fights (not gonna lie, some of these are really fun, but a lot of them are pretty infuriatingly hard). Also there's like 6 DLCs and they're STILL planning to add more to the game in the future. Point is, this game is fantastic and does not get anywhere near the credit it deserves. I was very skeptical about this game before I bought it because of all the negative press and I'm pretty pissed that I almost missed out on a great game because of it. Xenoverse 2 is hands down my favorite DBZ game of all time, and I've been playing video games for nearly 30 years. Really the only cons to this game are the fact that yes it can potentially be a little bit grindy if you want to unlock certain attacks or clothes, but the drop rates are quite generous overall. I've never had to repeat a mission more than like 3 or 4 times to get what I wanted (except for 100x Big Bang Kamehameha and Black Kamehameha Rose.... those took like 10 or 15 runs for some reason...). And then also the fact that some of the later raid missions are retardedly hard. But other than those two minor flaws, it is truly a great Dragon Ball game. If you love the series and you love Budokai Tenkaichi, then you NEED Xenoverse 2. And even if you have never played Budokai Tenkaichi, odds are you will still love this game. Bandai and Dimps did a great job with this one.
7 years since its release, the game has progressed immensely becoming better, the gameplay is dynamic and its layout is straightforward/simple. The grinding is modified so it doesn't become boring. Plus there is continuous player service going on since release, keeping it fresh, thus more content. The customisation is wonderful, I am a hardcore fan of the franchise, I love this game pure 10/10!
Jason Brown actually the tutorial doesn't end until the middle of the friza saga...you know when because the hubworld music changes. long tutorial yeah but it's only like 30-40 minutes into the game...
When it comes to the music in the game...yea it sucks, except maybe for the main title/menu music but what I like to do is go to Spotify play the Bruce faulconer dbz soundtracks, mute the music in the game and honestly it makes the game waaaaay more dbzish and much enjoyable to play.
In my sole opinion I think the xenoverse series needs to take a few things from other db games like; 1) some of the what if fusions from db fusions like karoly, natz, bargeta/vardock, tiencha, etc. 2) a legitimate storyline like ultimate tenkaichi. xenoverse 1 had one, but xenoverse 2 was just a recycled version of part 1's. 3) more customization options like the ones from db online, db fusions, and ultimate tenkaichi. referring to hair styles, clothing, and more variety of moves. 4) more what if transformations like ss 1,2,3 of goten, trunks, raditz, nappa, etc. 5) more characters with different moves. a lot of moves are duplicates or recycles in xen 2. some characters to add like king vegeta, broly's various lss forms, tarble, adult gotenks, new buu absorb forms, androids 19 and 20, great ape transformations, dabura, baby vegeta, uub and majuub, and plenty others. 6) for the love of God spike ss hair lol. 7) get rid of future ss and replace with legendary ss, add ssg and ssgss for cac, maybe add majin mode for all races, give humans master rochi's buff transformation, give frieza race actual form transformations, give buu race super buu transformation and absorb ability. they could absorb mentor or random character. give nameks fused and synced forms, and make frieza race's golden form god level in power like it was for frieza 8) improving ally cpu ai. they are absolutely useless even though enemy ai is amazing. also some characters are much weaker than their anime counterparts, like broly. maybe add a create a super soul system. some character builds don't have many good super souls. 9) lastly, add a bit more options for clothes like color changing and removing or changing emblems, adding damage feature to clothes, and adding different fighting styles and grabs for each race. thanks for reading.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 did bring a whole-lot of improvements to the table and fleshed out combat, added more saga's, DLC updates, mostly related to newer content, even the Xenoverse 1 DLC, which was crazy, It was crazy, our costume characters got more transformations, CRAP WAS EPIC, have no idea where this review is going at, I've played the first game and enjoyed it, played it for hours and hours grinding, It was fun but I never got around combat all to well, the second game made combat even more fun, it was a whole different experience.
New clothes, better rng, better fighting system, no mechanics and updated old ones, storyline is certainly better than Naruto games, more customized options, new types of side missons, etc.

The only reason why allies don't help out as much is because they're less likely to attack if you're locked onto someone. If there's multiple enemies then they'll more likely fight the enemy you're not locked on to.
By now I'm sure you know this, but as you progress through the story, the Hub World's music changes. And after you beat the main story, you can choose which BGM can play in the Hub World (in the title screen's options menu, sadly).
Xenoverse 1 was very fun. I hated the story missions where if your teammate died - - by standing in the middle of an enemy's major energy wave or some other dumb reason - - you failed the mission. The part where you're on Frieza's Ship ticked me off so many times.
That kind of thing is largely reserved for Parallel Quests. There are a few irresponsible choices that can be made in the main plot,though. Negligent evil is the best kind of evil,right?
Tbh I’m barely getting a switch and this looks real fun. I wasn’t sure since I’d missed out on the first xenoverse game if I’d be lost in playing this but looks like it’s basically the same with minor touch ups so I’m happy to play this. I’m not a die hard fan and the fans who think they co write with the author and basically attack your opinions about who might be stronger or not.. I’m more in between a huge fan and just jumped in even though been a fan since high school
I'm a hardcore fan, I bought it and I absolutely love it The combat feels natural after a short while, especially if you play the tutorials that actually do explain almost every mechanic within the combat system (except regenerating stamina quicker when standing in the ground) and there's so much to do it's just awesome. Unlike in Xenoverse 1 SSJ transformation is no longer a spamfest (same for Kaio-ken) but a stat boost (also it's now a chain tranformation from SSJ to SSJ2 to SSJ3) and every race gets a specific tranformation or alternatively the Kaio-ken or the long awaited Potential Unleashed aka Ultimate form PLUS the DLC Pack #1 that came out two days ago is absolutely amazing: New characters, new Parallel Quests, new mentors, new skills, new Super Souls EVERYTHING!
Im guessing what he meant by "Infinite combo and ultimate finish" is that most characters like humans for example. Has a combo loop that doesn't stop until the enemy snap vanishes. So im guessing Almighty Legend is telling you to do that and finish with a ultimate each time.
Ive played through the first Xenoverse, and got this day 2. Its ALOT better than the first, the AI has improved quite well as i see it using techniques better than i can, timing combos almost flawlessly and all around being a much greater threat than just being higher stats like it was first game. You do have to do the PQs, as that is the next best way to level up your character. The game is all around fun, i love playing it to just go through the DBZ story ALL OVER AGAIN. Your character from the first game actually does matter, as if you import that save the current preset you had for that character will be ported over and GIVE YOU ALL OF THOSE MOVES, unless its a transformation of course, then it gives you Zeni and the TP Medals, which for me i have Galick Beam Cannon, Max Charge, Gravity Impact and Super Spirit Bomb from the get go :D, thanks previous game! But seriously its alot of fun and far better than the first, if you are a fan of DBZ, i suggest getting the game.
and don't forget that the A.I isn't spamming non-stop Ultimate attacks. that's what i hated so much about the first game. and they also fixed the super saiyan transformations. now you can stay in the transformation, without draining your Ki. which makes the combat system more fun, by mixing melee and ki together :)
It IS better than the first game, and I’ve NEVER PLAYED the first game! I don’t plan to since it’s not recommended by my friend. I rather watch the first gameplay than to play it. I love Xenoverse 2 so much. I feel like I’m in it as my OCs.

So until they get the release day version with all avaliable content they can't determine the quality correctly as whatever bugs present in the beta can be possibly removed upon release.
well all those stage names are actually made up, i had a game(don't know the name anymore) that did had no alpha or beta but gamma and zeta, it is made-up from gamers to believe it is rly called that way, when, in reallity it depends on the developer team or the publisher!

I have noticed after a while the music for the hub world does change to a more non-grating song. I think it was a little bit into the Battle of God's part of the game maybe a little bit earlier.

None. the game at its base form[pre-DLC] has tons of stuff to do etc and as someone who wants to get everything before moving on a DLC content im pleased with what i got and im still farming and havent finished the story yet which is fantastic[im on the last saga xD]!

T-Dub just because we've never seen it doesn't mean it can't be done. In the budokai series they managed to give every character a different feel. For instance trunks didn't have a lot of combos, but his sword attacks were good for zoning and his supers were op as fuck, in contrast vegeta and goku were very combo heavy and had juggles Which can be chained with forward punch combos

you can, you have to bump up your ki, the higher your Ki stat the higher your saiyan transformation, i havent put any points into it minus clothing boosts and im saiyan 2 so i dont expect it to be a huge amount of points needed, but yes you can go saiyan three
Main problem with the combat (at least in story mode) is that you usually just use one combo over and over while only using one or two of your super moves.

The biggest improvement of xenoverse 2 is the combat system, the possibility of combining attacks and special abilities to create combos are huge, each character feels very well represented (for example trunks use big swins with his sword and super strikes, vegeta for the other way launch enemys to fly and connect super blast in the air...) and the elimination of super ki blast spamers is a fine detail. Other minors twinks are the inclution of a system to wear the clothes you want in the protagonist without sacrificing stats, more characters, cloths, and the expert missions.
For me, the first Xenoverse is actually what got me into DragonBall overall, so getting my hands on Xenoverse 2 was pretty hype. I agree that the hub world is a bit too much, but the actual game play really makes it worth it.
I've been playing xenoverse 2 like crazy since release and I personally love it I will admit it does get some what repetitive in the case of some side missions but otherwise the grind for creating a powerful character is very fun. I've always been interested in dragon ball since I was little and I feel like this was a great addition. I think anyone who has had any interest in dragon ball would love this game and it would be well worth it
+Chameleon Bro xv2 has alot more content its just..... most of it is the same i would 100% say you should fucking buy it BUT if you already have xv1 the upgrade isnt that huge unless your work pays you pretty well or you are a spoiled brat 50 euro is alot for a game like this

I have tenkaichi 3 and xenoverse 2 there’s things I like about each one more then the other like I like in xenoverse online and characters customization and how you can teach your characters almost every move and and the guests but for tenkaichi 3 I like the character roster and the transformations also the fighting styles and in game fusions and how you can transform and stay that way thru the whole fight but I like both stories for both games I feel like if tenkaichi 3 was remastered with online and new characters like from super and the character customization and new mission and more side missions and kept the fighting style the same but add move customization it would be way better then xenoverse 1 & 2 it would be the best dbz game ever in my opinion
An actual open world dragonball game would be cool to see. It'd at least be a new direction for the series. Maybe you start as kid goku or something and get older as you progress. Maybe you can play as a completely new character or something.
100% agree. HUGE step up from the first one. Combat is a lot more in depth. Super saiyan spam is no longer a thing. And it isn't just fisticuffs 100% of the time and you win like the first one. Because that's what I did. Pure melee build. I find myself being forced-ish to use energy attacks.
Yea, I know the feeling im glad alot of the ball ultimate attacks have had their tracking nerfed as well. As far as this game goes my only major gripe is the load times which can be a bit irksome when you are trying and failing at a difficult mission and a minor one is the earthling transformation (Which is a lot of fun admittedly) it just needs a bit more work to make it feasible, at least making it immune to evasive skills would be cool give its draw backs.

Brandon Birkett right but at least the base game in those cases were actually solid entries with the core gameplay being well done. Xenoverse had a lot of problems with its core gameplay and hasn't changed anything at all as that would require either massive engine overhauls or simply switching that shit entirely. It is and always will be a simple expansion shunted out and dressed up as a sequel, if you have to use cod as an example yourself and the game you're defending have already failed.
You forgot so much like, stamina break, burst dash, reverse burst dash, the different battle modes, training with characters, a lot about the hub world like visiting different characters houses to do jobs and get rewards, the hundreds of different attacks and clothes you can equip from the show,different races and how they all have different jobs and transformations, all the playable characters and the year of updates and dlc most of them free. P.s it's faster to hit great apes then it is to shoot ki blasts. Also it's too easy to level up in the game.

When it comes to the music in the game...yea it sucks, except maybe for the main title/menu music but what I like to do is go to Spotify play the Bruce faulconer dbz soundtracks, mute the music in the game and honestly it makes the game waaaaay more dbzish and much enjoyable to play.

In my sole opinion I think the xenoverse series needs to take a few things from other db games like;
1) some of the what if fusions from db fusions like karoly, natz, bargeta/vardock, tiencha, etc.
2) a legitimate storyline like ultimate tenkaichi. xenoverse 1 had one, but xenoverse 2 was just a recycled version of part 1's.
3) more customization options like the ones from db online, db fusions, and ultimate tenkaichi. referring to hair styles, clothing, and more variety of moves.
4) more what if transformations like ss 1,2,3 of goten, trunks, raditz, nappa, etc.
5) more characters with different moves. a lot of moves are duplicates or recycles in xen 2. some characters to add like king vegeta, broly's various lss forms, tarble, adult gotenks, new buu absorb forms, androids 19 and 20, great ape transformations, dabura, baby vegeta, uub and majuub, and plenty others.
6) for the love of God spike ss hair lol.
7) get rid of future ss and replace with legendary ss, add ssg and ssgss for cac, maybe add majin mode for all races, give humans master rochi's buff transformation, give frieza race actual form transformations, give buu race super buu transformation and absorb ability. they could absorb mentor or random character. give nameks fused and synced forms, and make frieza race's golden form god level in power like it was for frieza
8) improving ally cpu ai. they are absolutely useless even though enemy ai is amazing. also some characters are much weaker than their anime counterparts, like broly. maybe add a create a super soul system. some character builds don't have many good super souls.
9) lastly, add a bit more options for clothes like color changing and removing or changing emblems, adding damage feature to clothes, and adding different fighting styles and grabs for each race.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 did bring a whole-lot of improvements to the table and fleshed out combat, added more saga's, DLC updates, mostly related to newer content, even the Xenoverse 1 DLC, which was crazy, It was crazy, our costume characters got more transformations, CRAP WAS EPIC, have no idea where this review is going at, I've played the first game and enjoyed it, played it for hours and hours grinding, It was fun but I never got around combat all to well, the second game made combat even more fun, it was a whole different experience.

The only reason why allies don't help out as much is because they're less likely to attack if you're locked onto someone. If there's multiple enemies then they'll more likely fight the enemy you're not locked on to.

By now I'm sure you know this, but as you progress through the story, the Hub World's music changes. And after you beat the main story, you can choose which BGM can play in the Hub World (in the title screen's options menu, sadly).
Xenoverse 1 was very fun. I hated the story missions where if your teammate died - - by standing in the middle of an enemy's major energy wave or some other dumb reason - - you failed the mission. The part where you're on Frieza's Ship ticked me off so many times.

I'm a hardcore fan, I bought it and I absolutely love it
The combat feels natural after a short while, especially if you play the tutorials that actually do explain almost every mechanic within the combat system (except regenerating stamina quicker when standing in the ground) and there's so much to do it's just awesome.
Unlike in Xenoverse 1 SSJ transformation is no longer a spamfest (same for Kaio-ken) but a stat boost (also it's now a chain tranformation from SSJ to SSJ2 to SSJ3) and every race gets a specific tranformation or alternatively the Kaio-ken or the long awaited Potential Unleashed aka Ultimate form
PLUS the DLC Pack #1 that came out two days ago is absolutely amazing: New characters, new Parallel Quests, new mentors, new skills, new Super Souls

I just miss the budokai 2d style it had the best soundtrack transformations and gameplay

Im guessing what he meant by "Infinite combo and ultimate finish" is that most characters like humans for example. Has a combo loop that doesn't stop until the enemy snap vanishes. So im guessing Almighty Legend is telling you to do that and finish with a ultimate each time.
Ive played through the first Xenoverse, and got this day 2. Its ALOT better than the first, the AI has improved quite well as i see it using techniques better than i can, timing combos almost flawlessly and all around being a much greater threat than just being higher stats like it was first game. You do have to do the PQs, as that is the next best way to level up your character. The game is all around fun, i love playing it to just go through the DBZ story ALL OVER AGAIN. Your character from the first game actually does matter, as if you import that save the current preset you had for that character will be ported over and GIVE YOU ALL OF THOSE MOVES, unless its a transformation of course, then it gives you Zeni and the TP Medals, which for me i have Galick Beam Cannon, Max Charge, Gravity Impact and Super Spirit Bomb from the get go :D, thanks previous game! But seriously its alot of fun and far better than the first, if you are a fan of DBZ, i suggest getting the game.
and don't forget that the A.I isn't spamming non-stop Ultimate attacks. that's what i hated so much about the first game. and they also fixed the super saiyan transformations. now you can stay in the transformation, without draining your Ki. which makes the combat system more fun, by mixing melee and ki together :)

Also, the hub world changes as you progress in the story.
The cutscenes in xenoverse were awesome if they were to switch those with xenoverse 2 that would be great and give them the detail and texture of the cutscenes we have it would be nice

In the budokai series they managed to give every character a different feel. For instance trunks didn't have a lot of combos, but his sword attacks were good for zoning and his supers were op as fuck, in contrast vegeta and goku were very combo heavy and had juggles Which can be chained with forward punch combos

Main problem with the combat (at least in story mode) is that you usually just use one combo over and over while only using one or two of your super moves.
That’s a user problem.. you can play anyway you want.. if that means 1 combo and 2 super moves.. then no one is stopping you

The biggest improvement of xenoverse 2 is the combat system, the possibility of combining attacks and special abilities to create combos are huge, each character feels very well represented (for example trunks use big swins with his sword and super strikes, vegeta for the other way launch enemys to fly and connect super blast in the air...) and the elimination of super ki blast spamers is a fine detail.
Other minors twinks are the inclution of a system to wear the clothes you want in the protagonist without sacrificing stats, more characters, cloths, and the expert missions.
Yeah about that ki blast spam elimination…it’s evolved.
For me, the first Xenoverse is actually what got me into DragonBall overall, so getting my hands on Xenoverse 2 was pretty hype. I agree that the hub world is a bit too much, but the actual game play really makes it worth it.

I've been playing xenoverse 2 like crazy since release and I personally love it I will admit it does get some what repetitive in the case of some side missions but otherwise the grind for creating a powerful character is very fun. I've always been interested in dragon ball since I was little and I feel like this was a great addition. I think anyone who has had any interest in dragon ball would love this game and it would be well worth it

I have tenkaichi 3 and xenoverse 2 there’s things I like about each one more then the other like I like in xenoverse online and characters customization and how you can teach your characters almost every move and and the guests but for tenkaichi 3 I like the character roster and the transformations also the fighting styles and in game fusions and how you can transform and stay that way thru the whole fight but I like both stories for both games I feel like if tenkaichi 3 was remastered with online and new characters like from super and the character customization and new mission and more side missions and kept the fighting style the same but add move customization it would be way better then xenoverse 1 & 2 it would be the best dbz game ever in my opinion

An actual open world dragonball game would be cool to see. It'd at least be a new direction for the series. Maybe you start as kid goku or something and get older as you progress. Maybe you can play as a completely new character or something.

The combat is a pretty big step up from a first one and they nerfed a lot of the stupid things from the first. It's a pretty solid game
100% agree. HUGE step up from the first one. Combat is a lot more in depth. Super saiyan spam is no longer a thing. And it isn't just fisticuffs 100% of the time and you win like the first one. Because that's what I did. Pure melee build. I find myself being forced-ish to use energy attacks.
Yea, I know the feeling im glad alot of the ball ultimate attacks have had their tracking nerfed as well. As far as this game goes my only major gripe is the load times which can be a bit irksome when you are trying and failing at a difficult mission and a minor one is the earthling transformation (Which is a lot of fun admittedly) it just needs a bit more work to make it feasible, at least making it immune to evasive skills would be cool give its draw backs.

Because they don't know how to make new games, they just make a "new" game that just seems like a patch or next gen update.

Xenoverse had a lot of problems with its core gameplay and hasn't changed anything at all as that would require either massive engine overhauls or simply switching that shit entirely.
It is and always will be a simple expansion shunted out and dressed up as a sequel, if you have to use cod as an example yourself and the game you're defending have already failed.
You forgot so much like, stamina break, burst dash, reverse burst dash, the different battle modes, training with characters, a lot about the hub world like visiting different characters houses to do jobs and get rewards, the hundreds of different attacks and clothes you can equip from the show,different races and how they all have different jobs and transformations, all the playable characters and the year of updates and dlc most of them free. P.s it's faster to hit great apes then it is to shoot ki blasts. Also it's too easy to level up in the game.
