The bubbles totally make this build. I thought the lights were going to make it look kinda cartoon-ish (?), but it actually kinda gives the illusion of bubbling and stuff in the end. Super cool effect.
You are much more creative then most artists on here that do the same stuff. you must be an engineer by trade. I really enjoy getting ideas from you, and you epic builds are so great. Keep it up. Cheers.
Thanks Jarrett, we all have our strengths and weaknesses... and yes, I'm an engineer :) I'm glad to hear my videos are providing a bit of inspiration for your crafts! .... another EPIC build on the way !!!
The thumbnail is a mix of some artwork from a 80s horror movie vhs (I mean that as a compliment 😂) and a mortal kombat fatality. Looks amazing. Brilliant build as usual John, props to your daughter for the great idea!
I love this so much. I'm about to start running a long-term Call of Cthulhu game, and I'll need something a lot like this for some sewer scenes with evil space fungi. Thanks!
Another nice terrain idea: acid swamp in a toxic wasteland. Well I would like to do that, but since I do not have a room for that, my wife told me to stay with my minis... As an idea for a trap: Teleporting trap! You can make the like "glow on contact" ( maybe having a wire that needs only minor weight, like a mini, to make contact and glow up a "hidden" circle) Once painted it should look "normal" so your players done see the trap until one or two of them are at a further end of the dungeon.
Just a quick tip that I use that may have sped up the detailing process. Obviously you have a soldering iron, so simply wrap a bit of wire around the tip and leave a short lead. That will heat up enough to go around the base instead of having to reheat the pin over an over. Would probably work on the hot wire knife, but I don't know for sure. Great video! I am going to have to do this one after my blade trap!
LEDs and resistors … why you probably don't need one in real life, but do on paper. An LED is a diode, which works like a one-way valve in a pipe that needs a certain amount of pressure to open. That threshold is the "forward voltage". On LEDs it can be as low as 1.2v or as high as over 4v, depending. Point is that anything less than that and the LED doesn't light up properly. Once you hit that threshold though, the valve starts to open. At fully open, the LED reduces the pressure by its forward voltage and the rest … is heat and overdriven LED with a shorter lifespan. So a 25 year LED possibly had its lifespan shortened to 5-10 years. I doubt you're overly concerned. 😁
Let the guessing begin! 1) A large ship is the next project, where each layer can be removed for playing, 3 in total including the hull+the "captains hut" on top. A problem is the ship will be larger than the castle and the colesseum. Solution: build the castle even larger with additional battlements and castle areas. 2) I first thought maybe it's a board with levels, where ALL BUILDS FIT IN, from castle to dungeon to graveyard, ect, but that's just too large.....hmmm......nah, it's a large ship next, with harbour.
YEEEESSSSSSS! Another epic build! There is no stopping you! Loved the shot at the 12 minute mark as you gaze meaningfully into the flame as you melt the hot glue stick....it was a moment of tranquility and meaningfulness, as if it had a higher purpose than just making bubbles. Did you mount all the other 3x3 bases on the same sized mdf base or just the trap? If you do 4 epic builds this year....will that mean next year there will be more than 4? Thanks so mush for sharing these great vids with us, hard to believe it’s almost been a year!
Andy Gorman Andy tell me about it. The year flew by and I’ve learned so much and getting to know this whole community has been amazing! I just mounted the one mdf base to the trap to hold the batteries in place. As for the EPIC builds you and I both will have to wait and see what year two holds in store for Tabletop WitchCRAFT!
Amazing great ideas, I have a battalion of Catachan soldiers, as I'm making a Temple in a Death World Jungle and this build I can use putting a few sulphur ponds and open bubbling fire and lava pits. Question how do you get the led lights going on and off? Your a Mastercraftsman, congrats, Cheers from DownUnder Bob.
Thank you Tom. I always put two magnets together, and then take a permanent marker and mark the outside of each. When I add the hot glue I always put the marked side of the magnets in the glue. This way you'll never mix them up.
to make bubbles easier drop little drops of hot glue onto glass peel em off drop em in hot water you can also make mushrooms this way. if you press the glue gun just right you can get clusters of bubbles ( or toadstools) you don't need to drop em in to hot water if your making toadstools
@@TabletopWitchCRAFT No problem I discovered it by accident my Hot glue gun dripped onto my glass hob in the kitchen ( where I do most of my modelling) I notice these little drips looked like bubbles put a tooth pick in em they are great mushrooms. so I started deliberately dripping hot glue onto my scultpting glass and I got some really cool effects. I think it was you who I saw put hot glue in warm wter to make them clear so your partially responsible for it.
First time watching your videos, super well done and easy to follow. Do you have any simple suggestion for adding a small switch of some sort for the LEDs ? Not required here but want to transfer your idea to a diorama
I'm glad you found the channel. I don't have any suggestions for wiring up a diorama, but after working with and studying some videos with LED's it wouldn't be too hard to do...I guess depending on what your vision is.
Alright. I was planning to make some acid tiles for my current campaign but I wasn't sure if it would mess with the LEDs or if I should just put the was around the edges to add depth. I'll definitely make a few to test out though. Thanks for the great video and keep up the good work.
Awesome build, and the hot glue bubbles are a really intresting thing. If you are still taking suggestions for the traps of this series, may I suggest an Arcane trap? (Like a runic kind of trap?) I did some for one of my friends game, and I really want to see your take on it ^D^

Your a Mastercraftsman, congrats, Cheers from DownUnder Bob.
That campaign sounds awesome! The LEDs that are in the video description are flickering! Nothing special to do just power them up. Thank you Bob 🙏
With some very minimal wiring or even using the long legs of the LED you can do this with one battery.
Stefanie Elle You can it just becomes a little bit of a pain to take the lights in and out.
i was interested in knowing where you got your miniature bases for the battery install, i'm having trouble finding the hollow bottoms
They are listed in the video description in my Amazon links along with everything else used in the video :)

:) Good advice.
Would a bright green wash make the acid colors stand out a bit more or would that be a bit too much?
