...fuck you. Fuck you! I've already given money to Archvillain games! You mean I gotta give them MORE MONEY??? Those sculpts are so awesome! I don't even own a 3D printer yet! ...you win this round, buddy...you win this round. (Awesome content as always; I'm just salty that you've advertised such great models. I thought Frostburn Horrors was enough!)
There must be a thing called "fancy crafter syndrome" where we get caught up in using specialized products and trying to make a new favorite material work, when really the old basics were what we needed right from the start. Great video man!
Back to the classics! I love this approach, and these little "fairy lights" are so perfect for this! Also, thanks for turning us on to Archvillian! This month's release is NUTS and these mindflayer models are unbelievably cool!
I simply love it when you and other Content Creators revisit some of your older videos with new takes on the basic idea along with using new techniques, materials and ideas. Nicely done Jeremy and thank you!
I really do need to do more stuff with LEDs. Making glowing magic crystals was fun. That rune-tile really seems more like an altar or something that I'd put on TOP of a tile. But I spose it works either way!
Your sponsor is really hitting that Baldur's Gate 3 vibe! - This project, like nearly every other project, gives me so many tools and ideas for things I will do, even if they will not be exactly the project in the video. - Those lights would be great, I think, to attack to a tree armature (I was given about a dozen with no foliage attached yet) under foliage to represent a faerie tree or maybe a swamp tree infested with will'o'wisps and draped with hanging strands of Spanish moss.. - edit: lights ordered!
Channeling your inner Table Top Witchcraft, I like it. As cheap and easy as LEDs are to get and work with, it’s an easy way to add that extra level of awesome to your builds.
I've been waiting for this since I first started watching your videos! Thank you for inspiring me to get into the hobby and tabletop gaming. Now let's see a mega collaboration project with you, Real Terrain Hobbies, Miniac, and Goobertown Hobbies.
You have single-handedly turned me into a crafty bastard. Finishing my first set of tiles and columns right now. Starting on ruined wall sections as soon as the hot-wire table arrives later today. These lit arcane tiles are on the list to make next!
If you wanted to make a removable top for it, it would likely be a good idea to attach the top and middle pieces together and then attach them to the base with magnets. You could add rigidity to the top piece by putting a thin piece of clear plastic under it, which could be scuffed with a red scotchbrite to help diffuse the light some.
I adore the simplicity of these videos. Nothing over the top and it's made with everything I can just order or already have on hand. Your entire channel is fantastic. Thank you!
This would be a great story feature if you could make one of these or something like it with remote toggleable leds. The party solves an important puzzle or the big bad guy starts some kind of summoning ritual and the runes start to glow without having to take the tile out and flip the switch, love how these kinds of things just inspire more and more ideas
Another cool concept that is simple(-ish) in the execution, but looks great and is viable for all sorts of uses. After watching Real Terrain Hobbies vs. Jazza,, I totally want to see what you could accomplish in the same challenge conditions (trash, AP starter paint set, AP terrain basics kit, 1 12x12 sheet of dollar tree foam core, some cork sheet and miiliput).
This entire build is cool, but one thing I am consistently impressed with is your ability to free hand rad designs. I always have to draft stuff like that beforehand to get something I really like before I commit to it. You just go right for it with the knife and it comes out dope as hell.
Awesome video mate. A square of acrylic sheeting would bypass the need for any liquids being poured in. You could scuff the surface to get the right diffusion of light.
Bro! Your lack of patience and just-go-for it approach really resonates with me. I’ve just started on my journey of crafting and your videos have been great inspiration. Hitting you up on Patreon right now 👊🏻
cool video Jeremy. I've done a similar project posted on Scotty's Facebook group I used glow in the dark paint. I've always wanted to come back to that project and use EL wire or EL luminated sheets.
Great idea and execution, also a very helpful video and perfect timing, as I am about to wire up some light in a big terrain build for my channel. Thanks!
Fantastic work! I would never have thought I could do something like this on my own. Thank you for the great design and encouragement! Black Magic Craft ROCKS!
Great tutorial as always! I got into crafting after discovering your videos. Iive in your region so getting what you use is easy. Thanks for sharing and keep up the great videos!!
I've had issues with that gloss gel not curing transparent as well! Love seeing the mistakes you make along the way as I find it really helps to see the full process.
Love how you just roll with the inspiration of the moment, like adding green ink without testing it :D Glad it didn't react like the resin! Great video as always!
I really appreciate that do much of your stuff is available from Dollarama. I have 4 all in close proximity and eithoutvyour vids I'd never have known they had a decent amount of supplies. I didn't even know they had Mod Podge. So again, thank you.
I find it funny that you made this just as myself and a few friends are gonna be running a heavy madness campaign. I really dig this glowing rune tile and will be investing in some for myself in the future.
As always, thank you for the great tutorial! I really appreciate how you share your mistakes and how you problem solve in a transparent and educational way. I really enjoy your builds, keep up the great work!
You know, for all that in the intro about not being sure if this was worth the time and effort, I'd say you proved the opposite! Sure, it is a niche tile. But it is also freakin' sweet and makes for an awesome centerpiece! Great work, man.
And knowing what worked, and what didn't, it isn't actually that much work to do again in the future! Plus it can serve as more than just a tile. Works great upright too!
Very nicely done. Those fairy lights could have a hundred different uses. Already matches well to an idea I had for a temple of Tiamat (purple lights for the black dragon, matching perfectly for the other chromatics).
The past two weeks have been some of my favorite videos you've ever done. I actually appreciate that you show your errors, as I think it helps to showcase the overall process, and personally makes me more confident in taking risks.
I feel like you've been watching and commenting for a LONG time (you know that's true when you recognize user photo), so I'll take that as a big compliment.
I have not played any of the d&d style games or whatever you're referring to but I think the LED tile looks really good I'm thinking of like the dark crystal where everything else is pretty much around it completely dark except for the fiery pit way down below and then this purple crystal rising up out of those colors that's what that kind of reminds me of but not the same just kind of
Cool, you briefly thought about making a whole set of these with different arcane emblems, Spell traps like Symbol of Death, Weakness, Fear, Persuasion, Pain, and Flame. The symbols seem to be open for interpretation, but the research might be fun. Imagine your gamers stepping onto a tile, you immediately inform them that a saving throw must be made, while they are rolling you replace the tiles with your 3X3 symbol, the players hold breath waiting to see what the emblem might reveal. *phew* a Slowing spell trap, it could have been worse. Damn it Rouge why didn't you search this room. I'm new to your page and am trying to catch up on everything you do. Very enjoyable channel.
One of your simpler ideas, but so well executed! There's no way that players won't all go "woah!" when that tile is revealed. In a year. When we can play again in person 😩
Descent Into Madness mini look awesome.....hoping you have some to display..(see scale too)...especially werewolf....and mind flayers with other no name brands
I might adopt this concept into a freestanding wall (so the layers could be thicker) and magnets with swapable symbols/murals. Ooh, or like lighting gels so the color can change.
Yea, if you don't have the thickness limitation of trying to match existing tile thickness you can do all sorts of things. As is though one nice thing about this tile is that it CAN stand up and be used as a freestanding upright portal or something. All that epoxy fill gives it a nice weight so it's pretty stable.
@3:40 my brain was screaming "wait, why is he not using clear epoxy!?" lo and behold, often simplest is best-est. but thanks for leaving those mis steps in the video because we all learn from them.
cool video as always. I like it when you leverage tools, like the proxxon to its fullest, this is really where it shines being able to make super clean very precise cuts. The tile turned out really well! The sponsor minis look great, on point for all those BG3 players out there. the nautiloid ship looks b-b-bonkers! Thats right, so bonkers it just made me stutter! its that cool! Have you messed around with colored resin for your 3D printer? I've seen some really great glow effects done by using the translucent green resin and clever painting. Great work sir!

I didnt expect Nerdforge here
Well we now know what style of terrain Nerdforge uses in their homegame.

Good old epoxy.
Back to the classics! I love this approach, and these little "fairy lights" are so perfect for this! Also, thanks for turning us on to Archvillian! This month's release is NUTS and these mindflayer models are unbelievably cool!
They honestly look like something plastic like warlock tiles at first glance. Such great work man!
Why not both? :D And it also works upright as a portal or glowing run on a wall. The weight of the epoxy makes it pretty stable standing like that.
I was thinking a glowing magic circle holding in a demon. ;)
Your sponsor is really hitting that Baldur's Gate 3 vibe!

This is an algorithmically required comment. However, this is also a pretty sweet build idea! Gives me some ideas for other stuff.

Pretty much the most inspirational channel on you tube!
He's great, very inspirational for my own channel.
I really appreciate you including the things that didnt go quite right in your videos. It helps a ton!
“Every once in a while you just gotta give in and build yourself a gimmicky prop, just because it’s cool”

this is INCREDIBLE. Makes me interested in using this to make a puzzle floor room for a future session!
I love this channel. If the RPG community were a high school, BMC would be its shop class.
Grabbed some string lights. Lots of possibilities! GREAT build this week! All hail 5-min epoxy!!!!! Cheers!
That sponsors models. That Illithid Spelljammer! Wow! That was so cool!

I work better this way. Dive in, sink or swim.
I love this build. Super cool looking, and super easy to build. Awesome!
This was a great application for the lighting. Genuinely thinking about doing something similar.
Love you going back to those tiles. It was what you were making when I first started watching and it’s just whaT I still associate with this channel
This just gave me some ideas for some extra scene pieces for my campaign. Time to go to the hobby store!

I'd rather fix or redo the odd thing that goes wrong, than waste time on every project and every step being patient! :D
Ha! Ive been thinking about this very thing recently... tiles with grating above lava, or something glowing... This is really cool!
I really appreciate the fact that you show things, warts and all. We all get to learn that way.
cool video Jeremy. I've done a similar project posted on Scotty's Facebook group I used glow in the dark paint. I've always wanted to come back to that project and use EL wire or EL luminated sheets.

The Algorithm is life.
Very nice idea and also good for a display piece for your models so yep awesome idea.

BMC is back! Awesome build and the display camera work is great. Happy crafting and thanks for sharing!
Back? I’ve been making a video every single week for 5 years straight. I’ve never stopped.
@@BlackMagicCraftOfficial ya, I see you making lots of content but this video is a natural 20
Awesome addition to the tile collection!
Really cool concept. Having custom built light up tiles is always impressive.
This looks bad ass! Love it!! Might make some arch ways like that!
Love how you just roll with the inspiration of the moment, like adding green ink without testing it :D Glad it didn't react like the resin! Great video as always!
This is a great idea. Also spell effects like this would be great too.
Another great video! Can't wait to dive in and start making some stuff for myself
I love this, really simple approach and a cool effect. I think the key is to throw something like this in on rare occasions so it remains special.
Super effective!

requesting vid where another youtuber sends you mystery supplies that you have to incorporate into some type of badass scenic piece
Great video. You've really knocked it out of the park with these last few videos.
