Just released a Vehicle Virals shirt featuring the BMW from this video. I have less than 100 available! vehiclevirals.com/products/bmw-3-series-in-motion
@@JohnStax98 bmw m3 f80, right now I found a job that's paying good and I'm saving all my money to buy some cameras and all that shenanigans to make some videos of when I get the car. You and many other youtubers have inspired me bro 😁❤
The passenger mirror going down while in reverse is for parallel parking to view your proximity to the curb. It's nice to be able to get very close without the risk damaging your wheels.
Thank you.. I always wondered why my Z4 does that. I thought the previous owner programed it like that and every day I would think to myself why tf did he do that. Lol.
I was really excited to see that feature, so I ran out and checked in an '06 330xi manual that I just bought, and was very bummed out to see that it didn't have it :( Most of the parking in the town I live in is on the side of the street.
@@mihalis1010 Make sure the mirror isn't selected on the adjuster. Switching the adjuster to the passenger window overrides the feature. I've got this function on my 2003 e46 325
Appreciate the info about rev matching. Never really thought about that! In regard to hidden menus on LCD screen, menu number 7 starts with coolant temperature. Being car is German, all temps in menu are in Celsius. I believe your coolant temp was 88 degrees Celsius. It rises as vehicle gets warmer. It can be handy being there's no temp gauge for coolant. You also had one with RPMs. I believe it will also give digital speed readout, but it will be in KMs. It's in one of them, just not sure which number off top of my head. In each menu, at the top, are abbreviations in German. I saw a video a few years ago with a German speaking mechanic and he explained what each one meant. One of the first to come up has a date showing day, month, and year. The year shown should be same as model year of the car. That's the day, month, and year the cluster gauge was first hooked up during build at factory. Thanks for info!
Menu number 7.0 is the engine coolant temp (KTMP-MOM). I check that most of the time. Especially after a long trip when i want to let the car cool down before turning it off.
Sir, I have to tell you, I just bought my first BMW. I got a M330 hard top convertible. I freakin love it. I have to tell you, you have taught me so much about my car. Every time I have a problem or need to know something about it, I come to you and your videos. lol I swear the car is smarter than me, not putting myself down, but truth. There is so many things to learn, I was ready to sell it, just get rid of it. You saved me and my car. Thank you and please keep putting out these videos because I live in Panama and the manual is in Spanish and I am an English speaking American.
The single light function is for parking. It’s commonly used in Europe where narrow dimly lit roads are common. They would do this to help other drivers see the vehicle.
Ya he's pretty good. My first car was a 300zx z32 in high school. After many cars later I arrived at a 335xi and haven't bought anything else. Have a e93 IS now and it's the best thing I ever bought second to the Z
The code for the hidden menu is the sum of the last 5 digits of your VIN number, not "all the numbers". Yours just happenes to only have number is the last 5 positions, not eveybody's does. The reversing mirror tilt is not necessarily when the selector is in the "left" position, it's when the switch is selected for the driver's side. 07.00 is the coolant temp, as others have mentioned. 07.01 is the outside temp ;-)
So there’s this cool feature, once any bmw leaves the factory or reaches over 20K miles a cool little amber engine light comes on so you know your engine is inside the car!
Not sure if it works on your model, but on the steptronic transmissions...while in sport manual mode. If you put the gas pedal to the floor, then with the paddle shifters down shift...it will find the optimal gear for best acceleration. (Skip shift)
Accidentally switched the side mirror switch to the right side, disabling the right side mirror feature. Thank you for this video explaining the feature, thought it was a software update that removed it. Very useful when parallel parking.
The intro got me lol. Btw does the auto rev-match/downshift feature mean that you can actually do a kind of pseudo-heel-toe downshift on these? That's bonkers!
I see on your driver side where your head liner had come loose. I got In my car one morning and found my headliner like this.......and was bummed out thinking it would be an expensive fix. But I decided to do a lil redneck engineering... I pulled it down and noticed all the contact points where the orginal from the factory adhesive had finally failed. On each of those points I applied clear window caulk/sealant (which bonds very well and has a rubbery flex to it). I then took a pillow folded it in half and used my power head rest to push the pillow up and apply pressure to the ceiling (kinda like a porta-power used at body shops). Let it sit over night and guess what......... it's been perfect ever since. 💁♂️😉 Hope yall enjoyed my redneck tip off the day 👍
awesome i just bought a beamer, first time owning one and this video taught me alot..i think im in love with the BMW now..iv forever been a FORD LOVER..
Thank man. Just got a 645ci (e63) from 2004, and there's a lot of things this olde lady don't have that just is common today. So absolutely loves finding out stuff about her.
Yeah he said “I think they mean fahrenheit” so derisively 😆 😏 No bro they’re German. They use the metric system, so they definitely meant celsius. Hence every other unit of measure in the “secret menu” being metric 👍🏼
I love how yiu take the pisz out of bmws indicators and dont get salty about it i cant what to get a 335i one day but my cars got a engien co built by bmw in my peugeot
I too have that green blinking light. Another thing is when I start the car I see numbers displayed in the dash "121567" and the number increases every time I drive around. The newest things I discovered in my 750Li every time I put the car in drive the wheels start to turn. The faster I go, the faster the wheels would turn. Another great feature is when I accidentally punched the middle of my steering and a loud horn-like sound came. I found out its a warning signal telling drivers to stop hitting their steering while driving. I just started to learn how to activate the fly mode on my BMW. Its a lengthy process but I am almost done learning it. The best factory feature on my 07 BMW 750Li is to activate the Xdrive which can be activated when your driving speed is approx. 275mph you have to press on the parking brakes very hard and that activates the hidden greatest hidden feature that allows the wings to expand. Once the wings are fully extended on each side of the car you can then continue to speed up. Once your speed is over 300mph, you can fly away. I hope this summer I can upgrade the factory windows to high altitude flying, over 40,000ft. My current factory windows have a maximum flying altitude of 19000ft.
Also say if you pull up outside a shop, when you turn the car off and take the key out you press the brake and you can start the car again so you can leave it running with the aircon on and locked for when you get back!👌🏼
You do not need comfort access for this to work, after you shut the car off you have about 3 seconds to take the key out then press start again trust me I do it all the time in my 07 328xi 🙂
I think ots time for me to start reading my owners manual! The only time I use it is to get the correct size light bulbs and spark plugs. I can't be the only one doing this!
using the single like that is common in Germany, their roads are so narrow, that people do that on the side of the car that faces the road, helps prevent side swipes.
04:30 is a mandatory thing for all European cars. It is meant for situations when u leave the car in an area with no light at all, to avoid someone crashes u mostly
the external windows control also works on opening mode, just press the unlock button on the key.... useful to flush overheated car and avoid the heat blast when you open doors
I really love the look of your 335! The brown leather is beautiful, I looked for that on bmws that I was looking to buy. I ended up buying a bmw e61 530D with black leather interior. I honestly prefer the e6× over the e9x. I feel that the e9× interior wear out much quicker than the e6x. My 530D is from 2005 and the interior looks brand new. Now of course it also depends on how it has been treated, but it has over 260.000km on the clock and is almost flawless. Nonetheless, in terms of design, the e92 is gorgeous!
Great job and really informative. You're using an older vehicle, although the newer models have these features with standard buttons or can be located on the Display. We own a 2019 X3 with easily accessible features: stay on front light press the trunk FOB or auto program length, side light has a designated buttons under the light dial, car functions scroll on the middle display, trunk warning is automatic, individual door and seat belt light is standard. Hope you can provide an update with a newer model and appreciate the excellent reviw.
The key fob on my E93 has a battery that recharges via induction when you're driving; maybe you're just using a fob that's been lying around for months and you need to recharge it by using it?
Second feature called "side park" and it’s mainly to use if you park in a very dark street so other drivers can notice the car and avoid hitting it. Hope this is useful for someone

How dont know how to move up when I get to menu 19? What do I need to press in order to put the adding number? Please help me!
