    Well, there's likely your problem right there: a Chinese Torch brand sparkplug. They are notoriously craptastic. If you've got some Chinese-made motorized equipment like a generator or whathaveyou, the quickest and best way to improve its running is to yank out whatever Torch, Bongodongo, or whatever other Chinese plug is in there, look up its equivalent Champion, NGK or Autolite equivalent, mount it, and then punt that original plug into the hedges or use it as a fishing weight. For a Torch F7RTC an NGK BPR7ES, Autolite 63 or a Champion RN7Y, RN7YC or RN7YCC should work just fine.

      That’s right. Always try to update to better spark plugs. The cost difference isn’t much.

      I swapped my plug for a nkg. And now my motorized bike doesn't sound like it's naming Chinese children. Lol😂

      It’s not bad to clean them. Fix the issue of course, but if the spark plug isn’t bad and it’s a good quality spark plug why not clean the soot off?

    Adjust the carburetor clutch and clean the muffler bearing and then put in a Champion or NGK spark plug . Definitely don't forget to gap the giggling pin and will help for the timing 👍

    How it fix

    I bought a bike that has been sitting for 10 years and when I got it the oil was all black as well as the spark plug all black and full of soot just like the one in the video. What do I need to do before replacing the spark plug with a new one? Should I clean the inside where it sits or spray it with something first? I've changed the oil and gas and cleaned the carb. The bike ran very bad before and died when reaching 4:th gear after some time and when riding it for a while. So I have it taken apart now since I will be replacing the petcock since it was leaking.

    • @10minutefix
      @10minutefix  ปีที่แล้ว

      Try some seafoam to clean the engine. The carb might need to be replace though. After sitting for 10 years the gas in the carb most likely did some damage to it.

    Got a 1987 TRX250X, Psi of 125, manual says 170-190 needed, spark plug looked like in video too, tried both Keihin carb and cheap chinese carb and getting similar results, rebuild and cleaned Kiehin carb but no changes, think its my rings?

    • @10minutefix
      @10minutefix  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If the manual calls for at least 170 psi then either the piston rings are worn or the cylinder is scored and compression is lost. Also, check the valves and make sure the clearance is within specs.

    My bike starts instantly the first time but when I switch off the bike and attempt to start again it only starts if I give it a bit of throttle. Could this be a spark plug problem?

    • @10minutefix
      @10minutefix  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It could be but if you spray fuel starter while it’s dying and it stays running then it’s not the spark plug but a fuel related issue.

  • @ralphtorres3463
    @ralphtorres3463 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    My cars spark plugs are the same the gas is so bad that if you give more throttle the car's engine will shut off due to high load of bad fuel

    My 2 stroke was just running and driving then started to loose speed. Filled it with gas and it won’t start. Any tips on why?

    • @10minutefix
      @10minutefix  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well I can honestly say it can be many things but spray some carb fluid in the carb. If it starts then it’s a fuel related issue. Fuel is bad, fuel line leak, carb is not working properly, fuel tank has a vacuum and others. I have several videos on diagnosing it.

      Your carburetor is probably pushing too much fuel.

  • @oliveiraluis3540

    Bad gas or carb failing. Ok could it be the oil, 4 stroke with need of change oil? Ive had these sparks dark for a few days now..

    • @10minutefix
      @10minutefix  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This spark plug does not have oil burning. It is fuel that is not burning properly. If it were oil then it would look like soot. Also, if oil were burning then you really have a problem with the engine or there is excessive oil in your engine.

    • @oliveiraluis3540
      @oliveiraluis3540 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@10minutefix I know it does not burn the oil, but it did have a bit much I darined it off. Still a bit black plugs though. The bike rolls good, but if you leave it iddle for long it does cover with black. Well mechanic with it

    • @10minutefix
      @10minutefix  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Then I suspect it’s your piston, piston rings, and/or your cylinder that is allowing oil to pass by the combustion chamber.

      @@10minutefixHi Thanks for quick reply🙏
      I got fault it's due to Piece of rubber o-ring got stuck inside carburetor air mixer screw due to which air flow stucks, lots of carbon on spark plugs and too much fuel consumption.

    What do you mean by running bad gas?

    • @10minutefix
      @10minutefix  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I mean that if you have gas that has been sitting for many months, has water in it, or has other contaminants. Gas will break down and will not burn properly and can cause damage to engine.
