Thanks, Susan! Great tips! It is hard to see the season end. But you are right, it is still a beautiful time of year. I am learning to embrace and enjoy the garden in all seasons.

Great tips Susan! A comment on hydrangeas that bloom on old wood, I still prune off the flower heads because if I don’t, they catch snow and cause branches to break. As long as I only clip off the flower heads and don’t include any buds just below, we’ll have blooms the next spring. 🎉

Yes, that's a great way to do that. I probably should have clarified it better.

I didn’t manage to get a colored hydrangea yet, but was given I believe a Lime Light. It has started to fill out beautifully to cover the water collection tank-thx for tip to trim flowers.
We had 25*F the last two mornings and now it will heat up again in Z5a, WI. Not sure if fall veg made it under low tunnels as those 20s set in around 1am each night. It is now time to clean up some annuals that I don’t want reseeding everywhere like marigolds 😂 I have a ton of them. I will leave a couple as it is so nice not to have to plant them, they just do their thing and such a bright spot in the garden and yard.
I’m treating myself to another leaf thrasher as the old one gave out and we have a lot of oak leaves-working on getting maples, ect for variety. And a compost tumbler as a lamented about which to get. There are so many bins on the market and prices and none hit all the marks. I wanted a way to collect leachate, to be easy to turn and insulated. I opted for a Maze for size and large opening with crank. I will see how to modify to collect leachate and not much to do about insulating, but I have another project to build a hot bin with refrigerator building panels 😉. Just need to find a way to make better, quicker, easier compost and eliminate fertilizer cost. The open pile method gets too dry here and I’m losing all the good stuff to surrounding oak trees and I’m not too crazy about turning the piles. 😅
Nice tips Susan, Thank You! Always nice to see your videos!👏🏼👏🏼

Hi Susan! Do you fertilize your garlic with bonemeal at planting time?

Yes, I do and I'll include that in next week's video. I follow the label directions as far as how much to use, based on the bed's square feet.
