Nice VY❤👌, I like the wheels👍. I like the V6 3.8's, My 1st Commodore was a VU 'S' V6 with a full exhaust, not a fast Ute, but still good to drive.

had a road trip from melb to bris right after highskool back in 2012. u guys are lucky up that way u got all the wide open road plains to make the most of any car. u can rumble thru all the rev range and work all the gears. u dont need a 1000hp on the streets. anything over 200kw for street vehicle is plenty to have fun.. any 2ltr engine with forged rods big turbo and all the bolt ons is a good starter package and street vehicle power is enough
better to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow

that 3.8 six cylinder is just a awesome motor ,if you know classic cars then this could be a modern day interpretation of the might Buick Grand National from the mid 1980s

LS YES... don't f*ck around, do it. 6 is OK but Manual 8? idc what petch cost's, it's worth it, as long as you're not driving it too far everyday. Don't change the colour, it's unique & makes a statement that common colours can't. Shit hot car girl you should be proud, best looking VY I've seen

Used to have a 235rwkw supercharged VY V6 with a stock bottom end, big brakes and bloody hard suspension. The thing used to hurt you going around corners, and it'd beat AMGs in a straight line. Got a mate with a VT supercharged L67 manual wagon that makes 270rwkw, and the thing is off its head. I say don't give up on the ol' ecotec, it deserves more love than people ever gave it credit for. Makes a great noise with the right cam and exhaust too. Great engine that was extremely underrated. Would love to see some more modded V6 commodores on the channel Jono

Really clean looking vy, love the combination of calais trims on the s/ss kits. But f&@k me this car gives air bags a bad rap, I have rear bags and the ride is beautiful, that must of been driving aired out on bump stops surely.

I like the colour that much, I’m thinking about getting a purple / midnight wrap on mine - just don’t know enough about wraps and potential wrap degradation to original paint. 🤔I have an LS3 SS V ( just picked it up, like yesterday) and I’m a female too, i will treat it like my second baby, my Harley is my first baby 😂. Anyway, so good to see females with the 4 or 2 wheel feels. 💯✨

What’s not to love for a p plate car
Ecotecs were the last of the reliable Commodore V6s, shame they were a whole 30kw down on power compared to the Ford 6 of the same era.
Simple design and understressed makes them so reliable. As long as you change the oil often they will last forever. My vx manual has done over 300k km and is still very healthy
@@vxsr33and the Barras still have 30kw more power and do 1mil km in taxis. Not hating on the Ecotec, I've got a l67. But I used to have a Barra and I'll admit it would've absolutely chopped the the l67.
Keep in mind the Barra was pushing 210rwkw na through a t56
@@pietervanderhorst2529 I agree with you. Both are great reliable motors but in terms of power barra is superior. My V6 commodore is just a daily so the ecotec serves me well

I wouldn't have watched if it wasn't for the 3800. Surprised it wasn't supercharged. They get up and go.
Remember, it's not all about peak power figures. Torque curve and accessible power is just as important.
It always makes a car better when the rear suspension is removed.

@@lucyywallacee some v6s can sound good but just depends on what mufflers you got and how you have them setup. Overall though it’s very clean one of the best colours for the VY in my opinion.

Gorgeous paintjob. Ride height is too extreme though. Wheels that diameter with low profile tyres so thin they're basically painted on, and suspension that low, no longer give the car a sporty aesthetic. It just looks bumpy and uncomfortable. You can't do anything effective with that car. Certainly wouldn't drive well in Sydney, or handle well on a track. I prefer race trim over lowrider.

Should of stuck with the legendary Munroe gt struts and king springs far more comfortable ride coil overs suck unless on track with wheels that big am I right to say not much circuit work would be done ?
