Something cool about the magic bookcase is that it allows you to transfer magic coins and ingredients between family members, something that you can't do any other way
Ok...that's a really cool piece of information. I wish I would've known that for the video!! Thank you for sharing. It's cool because in my opinion it actually gives purpose for the item being there if you want a different Sim to have that inventory. Very cool!
The older you get the more you see that the Sims 1 had so much care toward details. Of course it had tech limitations of the time but they made up for doing the most in other places of this game. Great stuff.
Absolutely agree. You can say the same about many games in the past. It is why I believe many older games are in fact better than newer ones. In order to be good and stand out they had to make up for tech limitations in ingenious ways.
how come i've never seen this channel around? this is awesome i can't even tell if i was already subscribed and rediscovered it or if i just found it and clicked without thinking
Well if youve never seen this channel, Im glad you found us. Theres a ton of cool stuff to watch here and Ill tell ya, we have the best community on youtube and it isnt even close. Im happy you found the video!! Welcome aboard! 🤩
I didn't forget about none of these. I thought that card game was glitched or tweaking because the Sims were doing random stuff for a very long time, I didn't know that was part of the actual card game.
Yes! I've been a fan of Sims since SimCity2000. I played The Sims for hours daily when it came out and me and my cousin used to share expansion packs. If EA had the game clock/counter, I'm certain I would've logged 1000s of hours. 😭😭
This just gave me the deepest cut memory ever. I thought the same thing. Gaming was so different back then when you couldn't ask anyone or get online to see what was up 😂 I mean the internet was there but I played Sims 1 around age 9-10.
Gosh I spent hundreds of hours on this game as a kid. I loved the plant walls, I'd put them in bathrooms to separate the bathtub and toilet. 😂 I don't even recognize that weird music statue though. It's funny how you just skip over stuff and go for your favorites as a kid, so I def missed some of this stuff. Great video.
It's so true!! That music statue for some reason I NEVER look at!! That's why it's on the list. So cool that you used that plant wall though!! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. 😌
That last game item is interesting! Bezique is actually a pretty cool card game for 2 players, but judging from the animations, this particular item seems to be something similar to charades, or perhaps a vintage version of "Code Names". Sims 1 is packed full of so many interesting items!
I honestly only knew about the magic bookshelf and the satellite dish - if you put the satellite dish on your lawn, put some alarms around it - that'll be the one item the burglar makes a beeline for, ignoring the house entirely
@@Tytar yep, I never put actual TVs in my sims houses (why, I dunno) but I'll always put that on the lawn to keep the house intact, and depending on how many and where you place the alarms (thats a strategy in itself) you'll always get the burglar catching bonus money

Good to see you again Ciberman. It has been a while. Im really happy you enjoyed this. As of late Ive been trying out different format styles for the content and people seem to enjoy this one a lot!
The magic bookshelf isn't very easily forgotten by those of us who have played the original standalone version of Makin' Magic as opposed to Complete Collection. It wasn't included with the expansion pack but was later offered as a downloadable item on the Sims website, so that your Sims can have a place to put their various ingredients and MagiCoins in, since they could only carry a limited amount. And this allowed you to have a way of indirectly transfering these items from one Sim's inventory to another. So it's quite useful actually. And strangely, kids are able to add/remove MagicCoins from the bookshelf even though they can't do anything with them (probably an oversight by the developers).
@@placeforNothing You can find it, as well as all the other downloadables (some of which weren't included with any of the expansion packs) at The Sims Depot. Hover the mouse over The Sims 1, select Get Cool Stuff, then go to Makin' Magic, and you'll find the bookshelf.
I distinctly remember using the antenna as a child in every house I ever played because I wanted my sims to have the best of the best even if they barely made use of it. Sometimes I made it a part of the story that they finally made it big in life so they could splurge on different channels. I had since completely forgotten about it now as an adult so thank you for reminding me! I don't think I've ever took notice of the plant wall, the gramophone or the vent. They are definitely interesting. Good catch! I have bought the bookshelf/storage but thought it was too much hassle to actually use regularly. Believe it or not, I have used both columns, the first for fun houses - where I would also put the big blower that makes you fly and the water tank (you probably imagined I used cheats for the money and you are correct) and the balloons for parties, but not frequently. I have bought the candle and spent *hours* trying to find a wallpaper to match it, to no success, just to get rid of it because I didn't think anything was close enough for my taste. I never considered matching stone to wood panels, I have to be honest. If there is a stone wall in that shade and pattern, then my child eyes couldn't perceive it. I do remember doing it more than once just to think "Oh, that's right, the walls don't match. That's what happened last time" and *every time* I would forget and do it again in another house. I wasted so much time on that light...
I know I _'remember'_ the game because I guessed it opens and the inside looks like those mazes you have to tilt to make a ball come down *before* you interacted with it and then you clicked it and I was right - so I know I've seen it before - but I don't actually remember having used it or even taken notice of it... Uh, weird how memory works. I'll definitely play with it now you pointed it out. Thank Tytar!
It kind of looks like charades: one person picks a card, everyone guesses different things, one person guesses right and becomes the person who acts out the next card...? Maybe.
I loved reading your comments!! Thank you for sharing! As for the game, I thought it was charades too! But it plays slightly differently. It works in a really unique way!
I had always assumed the parlour game was some form of charades. As for the balloon arches, I believe that since they are actually just reskinned columns, you can build stuff on top of them

I didn't know about the balloon arches or the circus poles linking together, to be honest and I thought I knew this game pretty well. It's the small things, like that post or that card game which is really thought through, or the satellite, that's why the sims 1 was so good. You can tell the sims 4 was rushed, so they didn't pay attention to the details
just about 3 days ago i mod it able to have seggs raw uncensored in the sims CC 1-8, just copy bunch of files in , never knew it is possible, wow, now i'm trying to learn how to modify the body mesh and skins to put in a Sauron, people done it before, i saw some few DC characters etc etc, Command and conquer characters , so why not a Sauron? should be "easy" right?

I had totally forgotten about the lounge music. LOL That Air Vent window is also in a Steam Punk mod for the Sims 4. Is it also available in the Industrial Loft stuff? I have never used any of those items. Very cool. Thanks! The game looks like charades.
Isn't that lounge music great? The Air Vent window is also in the Steam Punk mod for the Sims4? I had no idea! I am not sure if it is available in the Industrial Loft kid. Im so happy you enjoyed it!! I thought it was charades too! But it plays slightly differently. It works in a really unique way!
So that makes 1 item from hot date and livin' Large each. 2 items from Super Star and Making Magic each (assuming " notes in motion" is from super star because I honestly can't remember) and a whopping 3 (1/3th of the list) from House Party. Just goes to show how under the radar that one really was. But why would anyone forget about the satellite dish? It's one of the fancy new items advertised on the back of the Super Star game box. (source: I literally just checked the back of the box I still own)
I can honestly say, there are 4 of those items I've never used and 3 of them I forgot about. 1 doesn't even exist in my game. ... But it wasn't the fan window. I have used that. 🤣 When I remodeled the museum downtown.
I didn't know about the bookshelf that you could use to store MagiCoins and ingredients, the candle in the wall or the balloon fence! 😁 The last one is probably from the Magic Town circus, it features a lot of clown items. Oh, I also didn't know about the card game.
Thanks for modding and becoming a patron of the channel, john. Im glad you were able to still enjoy the upload despite not having played sims 1 before!
I did not know about the faux plant or the MagiCo bookshelf. Were they only available in a special version of the game or am I just completely deranged?
lol no youre not deranged 🤣🤣 Magico bookshelf is from making magic and I think faux plant is from hot date, so it's in complete collection. Basically what makes them forgotten about is theyre categorized in weird spots in the menu so people forget theyre there!
I've played the sims 1 for so long and I genuinely have never used any of these items 😅 many of them I didn't even know about! I want to use that balloon fencing for an archway at a party next time I play! 🤩
I'm so happy my list was exactly that! I've had some Sims experts weigh in and say they only didn't remember 1 or 2, some remembered all of them! But there are many others that haven't even knew many on the list! That was the goal!! I wanted a list that most people hadn't heard about most of them and they were compelling items. :)
Hello Tytar! I swear i never ever in my life of playing sims 1 seen that magic bookshelf and Makin' Magic is my favourite EP and explore it all. When did that magic bookshelf appeared? It comes with a special collection? The big tv anthena is one of my favourite superstar objects, i used it a lot
Sorry for the late reply, Federica! The magic bookshelf has been there the whole time!! Or I guess you can say, it has been using magic to hide this whole time! 👀
Hi Josefine! That is really cool you do remember all the other items! Many people don't remember the bookshelf. They are categorized in weird spots in the menu, so people forget about those items!
Hi I’m new here, but I was thinking a video about the all sims 1 downloadable content could be fun to make, like the McDonalds Kiosk, The Households and Pepsi machine
Is the last item not a charades game? It kinda feel like it's one of those pick up a card and someone else has to act out the subject and all but more, fancy
Me cheating just watching the video ? April fools day is over. I didn't know those items existed, I'm only 3 years old when the Sims 1 was new. It's only late 2021, when I played it. I discovered it on GOG and it's a different experience, very hardcore and some of the items can get you cancelled like the cage to dance. Fun Fact the Sims 1 target audience were mostly Generation X and Older Millennials, just like the Sims 4 audience mostly Generation Z, Younger Millennials and Older Generation Alpha.

Sims 1 is iconic because the creator of the sims, Will Wright, worked on it! He left before Sims 2, to create Spore, i believe.
I didn't know he left before Sims 2! Spore was a great game though. I covered it in a 5 part series on the channel. Sorry for the late reply. :)
@@Tytar no worries! I love playing Spore, too! Wish they wouldve stuck to his vision, though. Im interested in Will Wrights latest project.
That last item I bet would be great to increase relationship with a bunch of different Sims at once.
That's a really great point! I wonder how much friendship it gives. That might be a hidden strategy for speedruns!
I'm gonna be honest, I've played too much TS1 to have forgotten about any of these items and I did use them all at some point 😂
(source: I literally just checked the back of the box I still own)
I miss the combinable fences and pillars. You could really create some cool and interesting designs with them.
I can honestly say, there are 4 of those items I've never used and 3 of them I forgot about. 1 doesn't even exist in my game.
... But it wasn't the fan window. I have used that. 🤣
When I remodeled the museum downtown.
What's funny is I deem that fan window probably the weirdest item on this list 🤣🤣🤣 Thats so funny you've used it 🤣🤣
I miss playing this game. My 21 year old Windows XP went out last May.😢I wish it was on Steam.
I didn't know about the bookshelf that you could use to store MagiCoins and ingredients, the candle in the wall or the balloon fence! 😁 The last one is probably from the Magic Town circus, it features a lot of clown items. Oh, I also didn't know about the card game.
I'm glad I got some forgotten items on the list for you!! The card game one blew my mind!!
Pretty cool video. I did not know any of those items because I’ve never played the sims 1.
Thanks for modding and becoming a patron of the channel, john. Im glad you were able to still enjoy the upload despite not having played sims 1 before!
@@Tytar no problem, man.
Excellent video the satellite dish is one of my fav
Thank you!! The satellite dish is my favorite too. Adding channels is such a neat idea!
@@Tytar But I have both of those expansions but not the complete collection.
I love your videos, dude
I've played the sims 1 for so long and I genuinely have never used any of these items 😅 many of them I didn't even know about! I want to use that balloon fencing for an archway at a party next time I play! 🤩
I'm so happy my list was exactly that! I've had some Sims experts weigh in and say they only didn't remember 1 or 2, some remembered all of them! But there are many others that haven't even knew many on the list! That was the goal!! I wanted a list that most people hadn't heard about most of them and they were compelling items. :)
What expansion does the satellite dish come with?
Great question! I believe that's in Sims 1 superstar
I use the huge fan window a lot since a lot of my sims for some reason end up livinig in very industrial-ish old warehouses 😂
lol that's so awesome!! That's so cool that you're finding a great way to use it tbh! I thought it had never been used! 😅
That faux plant would work so well to create a maze. Maybe for a future challenge mode: A whole house filled with a hedge maze.
ooo thats a great idea!! Ive done a maze challenge before and people really enjoyed it! Maybe this hedge could be used for a sequel! 🤔
Ur wall of CDs is gorgeous
Hello Tytar! I swear i never ever in my life of playing sims 1 seen that magic bookshelf and Makin' Magic is my favourite EP and explore it all. When did that magic bookshelf appeared? It comes with a special collection?
The big tv anthena is one of my favourite superstar objects, i used it a lot
Sorry for the late reply, Federica! The magic bookshelf has been there the whole time!! Or I guess you can say, it has been using magic to hide this whole time! 👀
@@Tytar it’s a bookshelf from another dimension 😱haha
I used the niche light in the chapel in my castle lot.
That is so cool. I love hearing certain people use these items to be honest! It shows me these items aren't totally forgotten!
I was 16 when Sims 1 came out, I remember EVERYTHING
PS. The game is a mix of Taboo and Mimic, very popular in the late '90s.
Taboo and mimic? I'm going to have to look into those! Very interesting!
I do remember the vent window, but only because I was confused by its purpose as a kid
I think it's really cool that you actually still remember it! Props to you!!
I geel good, i knew and used nost of these. What a great aesthetic man, new sims games cant match it
To be fair I only had the base game and pets 😅
haha 🤣
I cant belive there was something in a sims 1 video, I didnt already know, that dosent happen very often. it was the bookshelf/storage.
I only see the stuff you use in your videos! So I’ve never seen any of these things 😂
Same! I’m clueless when it comes to the sims.
thanks for becoming a patron Bones. 🙂 You too @Johnnumber1.
But Im glad this video was still fun for you both at least haha
love this videos
Is the last item not a charades game? It kinda feel like it's one of those pick up a card and someone else has to act out the subject and all but more, fancy
The parlor game looks to me like a cross between trivial pursuit and charades.
I have to agree with that!
Ah that good'ol Sims 1 music
It's some of the best out there, I tell ya!
OMG you've never played Charades? (AKA "Bezique's Folly in the Sims).
That is very cool! lol I'm glad you didn't cheat after watching the whole video haha
Algorithm boosting comment!! Fire video as always!. Keep em coming 🔥🔥
Thanks Ice_Soup you rock. Thanks for boosting the algorithm for me too 😅
Sims4 could never 😔
for real though 🤣
@@Tytar lmao yup
📡💸💸
my personal #1!!
