- Hello everyone!
In this video begin servicing and doing some improvements on the Daytona 955i engine.
When I started filming the intention was to have the whole process in one video, but while editing I decided to split it in 2 separate videos due to the length and also the time I have available for working on the bike.
I hope you all enjoyed this video and found it helpful.
Thanks for watching!

Fascinating, I'm a mechanical numpty - stumbled across this vide as I was looking for Triumph Daytona 955I information.
Hey Bob, thank you for your comment.
Hope the videos are helpful for you. I’ll get back on this project when time allows :)
More useful information
Thanks! :)
Great bike!
They are indeed 😁
Great video. Can't wait for part 2 already to see how it all comes together. :)
Thank you! :)
Nice tutorials mate. Well done. These will be very usefull for someone. Impressed.
Thank you for your comment! Having some delays with part 2, but hope to have that posted soon.
@@garage_tales done early daytona 955i's before. Just picked up an 04. So this is a handy refresher and looks super super useful for a newbie. Very well delivered Sir.
No 1 cylinder idle air feed tube (black corrugated) appears cracked. A common issue, causing fast/erratic idle. Replace with heat resistance silicone tubes.
spoke too soon. blue tubes now in place to match the Caspian Blue. Mine are red to match the Tornado Red.
Hi there. Thanks for your comment!
Yes, it received new hoses. The old ones where perished and full of holes 🙂
Starting season 2 after watching this video, best series on these bikes on the internet
Thank you for your kind comment! Hope to be able to start making videos again soon 🙂
Great mechanical skills bro!
Thank you. Hope you enjoyed it :)
Awesome :D
I always use full copper nuts "not copper flashed or stainless steel" on exhaust studs as they never bind on next removal. But good job never the less.
Thank you for your comment! Yes, copper nuts are a good option :) In my limited experience, stainless nuts & studs + copper slip between them are better for uk’s wet roads, but I’ll try some copper nuts in the future again & compare the results.
What material are the studs you use though? Copper on stainless can cause a galvanic reaction if they don’t have anything between them.

Stainless studs, no galvanic action between them and copper. I was an engineer before retirement and have seen on many occasions st to st fusion even at very low temperatures "cold welding" we always used carbon based "pure Goop" as a barrier to over come this, but it is very expensive.
Thanks for posting the video!
I have two comments:
Shouldn't you synchronise the throttle bodies after adjusting the valves? (I realise that this is difficult to do without coolant).
I would have shortened the stud bolts of the exhaust manifold to a minimum, which makes the next manifold removal with the water cooler fitted much easier.
Hello, thank you for your comment.
There is a part 2 for this video in which I fill it with coolant and sync the throttle bodies. Sadly I’ve been very short on time so it’s taking a lot.
Regarding the studs, I haven’t thought of shortening them, but I don’t think I would anyway. Taking the radiator off is quite easy I think. Even if you leave the hoses on and just pull it away a bit :) But if you’d rather shorten them, go for it :)
Do you have a video about oil temp and rev counter fault finding as my 2001 955 daytona has 2 issues , my rev counter just doesn’t work and the oil temp gauge just goes straight to hot even on initial start up . The bike still runs fine though 🤷♂️.
No, sorry. I don’t have a video for that 😐
What kind of hose (the blue one) are you using to get rid of the old brittle system?
It’s just a hose off ebay. 6mm I.D. If I remember correctly. It has some reinforcement in the middle as well which prevents it from collapsing in the tight bends.
What’s the air filter part number?
OEM part no. T2201246
how do you take the airbox off ??? LOL
Comes off pretty easy. In one of the other videos you can see me take it off 🙂
Oh come on, I want to hear you state what you are doing, Not music.
Thanks for your constructive comment. Trying to improve as I go along 🙂
Didn't mean to sound like a Jerk. Thank You.@@garage_tales
@@ronniesuperx No worries. It’s a valid point. Most of my newer videos either don’t have music or not as much. I just didn’t know any better at the time 🙂
Thank you for doing these videos. I will be doing some of the same things to my 2000 Triumph Daytona 955i in the near future and your videos are going to be a BIG help.@@garage_tales
@@ronniesuperx Glad they are of some use 🙂 Hope it all goes well with the work on your bike 🙂
