This game, I swear. Even now, the more I learn about it, the more I love this game. The amount of detail and depth is just staggering, honestly. Learning about all these stats and facts is fun.
Ok one quick note for the master cycle please read. For filling to fuel tank the MOST EFFECTIVE item is monster extract which can be bought from the monster shop owner, Kilton using 4 of them will completely fill the tank. Use this they are cheap but you have to wait for him to get more
The best part of this game are the little details spread throughout. There are seemingly an infinite amount of discoveries within this Hyrule. There's so much passion from the designers put into this game. Great work in helping uncover some of Hyrule's many, MANY mysteries!
I personally would like to see a part 2 to this, Croton. I also have a question for you. When using bomb arrows with the duplex bow, do the two shots count as though they were single arrows in terms of damage or are they nerfed like with the multishot bows?
If you didnt know: the reason satori mountain glows during a waxing crescent moon is because that is the moon phase when satoru iwata was born. Since he died, nintendo wanted to pay respect
Zoom is proportional to range, and the phrenic bow has one of the highest. Bows like the ancient bow and ravali's are also high range too I'm pretty sure
I find that the Phrenic and Golden bows both have better range that most bows, Rito bows also have better range than, say, the Royal bow, and the ancient bow has barely any arrow drop. Then you have the Bow of Twilight, which is a sniper rifle disguised as a bow.
Botw has been my favorite game since it came first released, and I've always wondered about drop rates. I tried testing for myself once, but I got bored eventually and just gave up. I couldn't find much info on the internet though, so does anyone here have a clue? By the way, love your videos my guy! Never seen someone so devoted to a single game! Keep it up!!!

Dude thank you so much for doing this! I have been confused by everything stats related until you came along and i hade it since day 1! You sir have earned yourself my subscription! @@mljh11 thanks for letting me know about the wiki. :) i did have to search for weapon durability but it helped. 8:29 Some materials such as Monster Extract work as Multiplayers, you only need two Monster Extracts and you can use 3 apples or something else, to fuel the rest of the tank. (Or something like that😂) Did you already know this?

Your content is very enjoyable and fun, and in a way it challenges me to try and achieve things I never would have considered otherwise. So thank you. You are appreciated ✌🐲🐉🛸👽☮
I would love to see a second video like this. I also have a question, do the champions weapons (great eagle bow, daybreaker shield, light scale trident, etc...) have any special traits?
Well the great eagle aparence twice in the video, have one of the best reaches, and have the most fastest fire rate and if i remember have +3 multishot, and have decent damage for early/middle game
That sneak attack at 9:14 was... kinda spicy ngl Edit: Yeah, keep making these! I enjoy them, even if I rarely play BotW anymore. Super excited for BotW 2 though!!!
My favorite part about this game is all the little details that don’t really make that much difference to gameplay, but it’s nice to know that the devs cared enough to include them
Definitely want more. BotW is the Ocarina of our generation. The more info you can get out, the better. A question: How often does food get a critical cook? Can you affect this chance with more than just a monster extract? How is food with 5 ingredients affected without an extract?
I've actually been kind of curious whether the spin and jump attacks do more damage than normal? Anyway, good video! It's been fun learning about all these hidden and obscure mechanics.
Spins do the same damage per hit without the critical hith modifier with it the 4th hit in a spin will be 2x dmg spins also take 1 durability every hits. Jump attack give 2x dmg but also takes 2x durability
I mean you can just let it roll down hills to save on materials, but I'm drowning in guardian parts and apples by that point in the game, so might as well go full speed!
On the note of master cycle zero fuel consumption, try using 3 monster extracts and 1 weak material. the monster extract boosts the effect of any material exponentially, not just itself. I would suggest stocking up on monster extract from kilton using cheap monster parts and just using that, since its cheaper in the long run.
i’m curious about the damage outputs of charged stamina attacks. for example does charging a sword increase the damage output when it hits an enemy? or maybe just the spin range? and how much damage does the shock wave that a two handed weapon do when charged up at different charges?
1:39 Gorok tunnel shrine (brother's roast shrine) You can abuse the pot, the shrine, the fact it can't go out, and blood moon storage to cook as many critical meals as you'd like.
I'm kinda obsessed with saving durability so I threw bombs at switches almost every time through 60 shrines and the 4 divine beasts. remaining switches better prepare for my lynel crusher revenge
I personally think that because you can go bullet time when shooting a arrow in the air, of you throw a weapon in the air, you should also go into bullet time
Pretty sure he covered that in his cooking video. (I think it adds a certain duration to the effects of food? There are other foods that do the same, with different times added- again, he covered it all in the cooking video)
@@bluehax6 th-cam.com/video/QAN-f7j82gQ/w-d-xo.html - Rock Salt is one of the ingredients that just adds duration to the effects (rock salt in particular adds 1:00) and I think it adds hearts to other foods but I'm not sure
Thanks so much for all these videos because I got botw in July and it is my first zelda game ever so your videos have been really helpful for my first playthrough
I was expecting the shield stats question to pop up, but since it didn't I'll ask it here : Does the stat displayed by shield in-game affect the spin attack done by presing Y while shield surfing ? In your shield stat video you mentionned how only the lynel shield could deal damage by parrying at melee range and criticized the guide book for that but it would make sense if it also affected the shield surfing spin attack. Amazing to see you answer all those quesion man. Keep it up.
Great video my only question is, how often do Yiga clan members appear? Is like every certain number of minutes or do they appear In specific locations?
I have three questions which I have been thinking and to my knowledge nobody has explained them so far: 1) What are the different getting-on-horse animations, for example: if you press the mount button, that is the standard animation, but if you backflip or side-hop or jump onto the horse there is a different animation. Also is there a different animation if you fall from a great height into a horse and do you take damage? 2) Can you do a vid/section of a vid where you explain which armour sets pair best with each buffs? For example: like barbarian set with high defence buff or champions tunic with attack buff, etc.? Edit: 3) Another question I have is that what is the intended order to free the divine beasts? I know with the open world experience, you can do them in any order but the developers must have intended that the players free the divine beasts in a certain order. Like I think that vah Ruta was meant to be done first since the weapons you get in that area (Zora weapons) have a usually lower attack power than the Gordon or Gerudo weapons. Another thing to note is that vah Ruta is the only divine beast quest where the game asks you to steal arrows; teaching you this mechanic rather than the other quests which just give you the bomb arrows directly since it assumes you already know how to get them. Just a random thought, but I hope you can find the answer to this😊 Ps: I really love these type of vids and hope you continue this series! It’s crazy how much work you put into making these videos👍
I know you have two videos on shields already, but I would love to see a video on special properties of certain shields. Like, what does a kite shield do to midair combat, or what an ancient shield does with guardian properties.
Could you do a video about horse stats and locations, as well as the stats for the special horses and even ridable animals? I was mentioning this because I wanted you to talk about Link's Horse and how you can catch multiples of his exact horse from the memories which has it's own special set stats like the other special horses, but then I remembered how you can also find bokoblins riding bears in the Gerudo highlands. Horses being riden by bokoblins also have their own stat ranges, but are always spotted horses.
Here's a guide for Link's horse: gamefaqs.gamespot.com/switch/189707-the-legend-of-zelda-breath-of-the-wild/faqs/74764/links-horse Check the table of contents for more info that probably answers some of your other questions ☺️

@@Slender_Man_186 nope, many new players don't realize that they have to interact with the statue and miss out on increasing their essence. That's fine
4:20 I believe i saw somebody in a playthrough take the large metal box and drop it on the lynel, it did a very good amount of damage and messed with the model of the lynel. What i concluded was It has enough surface area to trap the enemy under it, and that the longer it is in contact with the enemy while in motion, it will calculate it as multiple hits.
I have more durability questions about weapons & bows: -What if I swing a 1 or 2 handed weapon and hit nothing? Like just in the air, not even a rock or the ground. -What about during a spin attack with a 2 handed weapon? Is the durability lowered each time each enemy is hit, or is it the duration of the spin? -What about a spin attack where I hit nothing and I cancel before Link smashes the ground? Or is that "free"? -Does a charge attack with a 1 handed weapon use more durability than a normal hit? What if I cancel it or miss and therefore hit nothing? -Is the bow durability loss per shot? Or per enemy/balloon/target hit? -What if I draw the bow then cancel and don't fire? -What if I set a normal/plain arrow on fire, does that affect the bow? -In one of your other videos you claim the master sword beam doesn't use durability, but I have the master sword "break" from the master sword beam all the time when I use the master sword to mow the grass (to get free rice or wheat); can you explain this more? -In another one of your videos, you said wood weapons on fire take damage over time, and the torch doesn't. But I'm pretty sure I've had torches go out on me before (leaving me in the dark!), can you check more into this? -In the shield durability videos you mention about which ones had the highest & lowest durability; I wish you would have mentioned specifically which weapons & bows have the best & worst durability. -Thank you for having mentioned in a previous video that weapons & bows blinking red have 1-4 uses left. -Have you mentioned before how throwing a weapon affects durability? And how this may or may not be different for boomerangs? -I feel like the way you went over these stats about the bows was really rushed; could you do a video looking more into bow choices and which bows are great for which situations? While showing what each recommended bow looks like and how to get it? Thank you!
- For the most part, melee weapons only lose durability if they hit something, so you won't lose any durability if you just swing and hit nothing. The only exceptions are the elemental rods and the Windcleaver, since they shoot a projectile when you swing (the Korok Leaf is exempt from this, probably because its wind effect doesn't do any damage). - Bows lose 1 durability every time you fire an arrow, even if you don't hit anything. Drawing your bow and then canceling won't use durability. - Setting the arrow on fire doesn't affect the bow durability-wise. - The Master Sword's beam will not use durability if it's in the "powered up" state (like when you're around Malice or after completing the Trial of the Sword), but it will use durability if it's not powered up. - It _may_ be possible that the torch won't hold a flame forever (and you may have accidentally tried climbing a wall or something, which would definitely put it out), but they definitely don't lose any durability from being on fire. - The orcz link in the description of this video shows which weapons and bows have the most durability. - Throwing most weapons and hitting an enemy will instantly cause them to shatter regardless of how much durability they have left. Throwing them at the ground or a wall won't use any durability, but throwing them at a Stasis-able object (like crates or boulders) will generally cause them to lose 1 durability. Also, boomerangs will lose 1 durability when thrown at enemies. Hope this all helps!
For a Part 2 video on this, I would like to ask how effective all types of weapons are at breaking Ore Deposits. Sledgehammers and some two-handed weapons seem to be super effective, but do all two-handed weapons have the same effect? Are one-handed weapons always weaker than two-handed, and are spears weaker than one-handed? Do all weapons aside from specific ones deal the same rate of damage to ores? I guess in a general comprehensive way, my question is really just: If I don't have a Sledgehammer or Stone Crusher or whatnot, and I dont want to use my bombs and risk ores falling off my reach, should I try to be using two-handed weapons to break them faster or does it really not matter what kind of weapon I use? And for a final crackpot question: how many arrows does it take to successfully break an ore deposit?
What are the chances of monster extract helping your dish when you cook? (When I put 4 high level ingredients it always maxes the duration for me E. G. 4 Lotus Speed things + 1 monster extract = 30 mins speed up lvl III)
Maybe some of the calories is lost in the water that is used to prepare the food eg. When you boil a potato you tend to lose some of the calories in it. Hence the duration is a bit reduced My idea is so dumb
Alright, that explains normal Blood Moons, but what about the abnormal ones? I'm talking about the Blood Moons that spawn in the middle of the day, or some other time when they shouldn't, like right before a regular one triggers. Not kidding about that, I've had a standard Blood Moon rising in the sky, and then suddenly I get 2 back to back. I don't think there was even 20 seconds between the two!
The max bonus is 54, so the total stat is 90+54=144. Congrats, you got the most powerful shield ☺️ docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1NqJoQxZQJ_8UCLStiqGwgAOPN1V0Z9uCoq9lW_LYGKo/pubhtml#
I was about to pause the video to correct you about the range of the Ancient Bow being 40, but then you went on to describe the altered gravity mechanic of it that I was completely unaware of. Very interesting. Most Zelda wiki's seem to just assign this bow a range of 50 to account for the lower rate of arrow drop. Btw, you mention which bows have a naturally faster draw rate. Do any have an inherently slow draw rate? Maybe its my imagination, but both the Ancient Bow and Twilight Bow feel noticeably slower than other bows.
It's a common misconception that I really wanted to shine a lot on 😅 and yes the ancient bow does have reduced fire speed, but I forgot the exact margin off hand.
10:05 that is incorrect:the ancient bow has a range of 50,the bow of light has 500 and the twilight bow has 8000 which is the most range a bow has in this game. You can thank me later! :)
Although its believed to be 50, the datamine has accurate stats on it being 40 with the altered gravity stat - its even in the official guidebook as 40 as well!!
I've been playing this game for about 2 years, and I'm STILL learning new things. But that does leave me asking a question. Does lightning do less damage to bigger enemies? That is, the boss enemies like Lynels and Hinox that have health bars. I have seen enemies like Moblins being instantly killed by lightning, but I would expect the bigger and beefier ones to take less damage. 9:56 Also, you misspelled Ancient. Just letting the word out, not trying to make fun of you.
Blood Moons also cannot occur if you are in Hyrule Castle. Also, it seems that Monster Extract amplifies the effect of any materials you use to fuel the Master Cycle Zero.
Ad. Q1 - there is also a thing called Panic Blood Moon where game panics for one reason or another and spawns one to reset itself to default state and free up memory. I had one of those randomly mid casual playthrough recently, it actually looks pretty cool when it suddenly rises in broad daylight. Ad. Q2 - I always get glow on Satori Mountain right after I get paraglider and leave Plateau. Wonder if it's just me being very consistent with time taken on tutorial or if it's set up to happen by the game.
This was a neat video, love how thorough u are! ^_^ Also I'm not exactly certain how it works but dropping 3 monster extract + 1 apple into the motorcycle will completely refill the tank. Monster extract may be a relatively rare material but I definitely wouldn't say it's best to just ignore it as a fuel ingredient. Especially if you amass a horde of them, they end up being an easy way to fill up fast!
They definitely fill more then apples, but not nealry as convenient to get - especially considering there's a whole apple orchard with over 100 apples on satori mountain!!

@@mikeguo608 that's a panic blood moon. When the game hits a certain amount of memory (I think I've seen 90%) a panic blood moon will occur as soon as that threshold is reached to refresh the game.

Well I'm just glad it all payed off 😅 Thank you!! :D

I’d love to see more Zelda myth busting on this channel.
nice video! a part two sounds like a great idea! one problem though, you misspelled "Ancient" as "Anicent" at 10:00
Lol
Nooo!! I always miss one stupid mistake lmao
But thank you, im glad you liked it!! :)
What about the Phrenic bow? That thing has crazy zoom
Zoom is proportional to range, and the phrenic bow has one of the highest. Bows like the ancient bow and ravali's are also high range too I'm pretty sure
Both scoped bows (Phrenic and Golden) have 40 range, and aren't very different from the others in that manner 😅
I find that the Phrenic and Golden bows both have better range that most bows, Rito bows also have better range than, say, the Royal bow, and the ancient bow has barely any arrow drop. Then you have the Bow of Twilight, which is a sniper rifle disguised as a bow.
Thank you Croton! The amount of time and work you put in you stat projects are very impressive. Thank you for making BotW as efficient as possible!
My pleasure! Happy you enjoy the vids :D
(sorry for the late reply!! just saw this now lol)
Would love to see you expand the horse stats video with some of the other rideable creatures, even if they are only for certain areas.
Botw has been my favorite game since it came first released, and I've always wondered about drop rates. I tried testing for myself once, but I got bored eventually and just gave up. I couldn't find much info on the internet though, so does anyone here have a clue?

Some materials such as Monster Extract work as Multiplayers, you only need two Monster Extracts and you can use 3 apples or something else, to fuel the rest of the tank.
(Or something like that😂)
Did you already know this?
Monster extract has random effects
Yeah, it's Fairies and Monster Extract for me.
@@topsyturvy1097 Not when you're filling up the Master Cycle. It doubles the effect of your fuel. 4 apples plus 1 monster extract = 80% of your tank filled.

Dude I love this channel. I just got my first switch like a month ago and obviously the first game I bought was zelda botw. Without your very in depth and comprehensive explanation of this world and its mechanics. I would have eventually figured out most of it but it would have been a minute.
As far as I know they don't, but I've also never looked into it..🤔
Well the great eagle aparence twice in the video, have one of the best reaches, and have the most fastest fire rate and if i remember have +3 multishot, and have decent damage for early/middle game
Don't think that they do. Except only the ceremonial trident can unearth a hidden shrine.
roberto alexander mendez moreno I know, that is why I am curious about the rest
Many of them has high durability. The sun breaker has I think the 2nd best durability for a shield after the hylian shield.
That sneak attack at 9:14 was... kinda spicy ngl Edit: Yeah, keep making these! I enjoy them, even if I rarely play BotW anymore. Super excited for BotW 2 though!!!

Thanks for answering my question! Was waiting and preparing myself to be disappointed, but you came through right at the end 😂
Ayy no problem!! 😄😄
This the video I needed in my life
I'm glad!! :D
Also I'd love to see another one of these mythbuster videos since basically all of the mechanics in botw are hidden
My favorite part about this game is all the little details that don’t really make that much difference to gameplay, but it’s nice to know that the devs cared enough to include them
Question: how many points of damage does lightning from weather do?
Definitely want more. BotW is the Ocarina of our generation. The more info you can get out, the better.
A question: How often does food get a critical cook? Can you affect this chance with more than just a monster extract? How is food with 5 ingredients affected without an extract?
Watch his cooking video
also hitting a bundle of wood with a fire weapon to create a fire uses no durability
8:03 does that mean my MasterCycle won't consume fuel if I press the gas button often enough?
Yes, but it halts very quickly if you don't have the button pressed unfortunately
If you use a chicken instead of the paraglider how does that exactly affect stamina and speed?
As far as I know the only difference is that the first second or so of the glide won’t consume any stamina at all
Fantastic video as always!
Thank you Gavio!! :D
i’m curious about the damage outputs of charged stamina attacks. for example does charging a sword increase the damage output when it hits an enemy? or maybe just the spin range? and how much damage does the shock wave that a two handed weapon do when charged up at different charges?
1:39
Gorok tunnel shrine (brother's roast shrine)
You can abuse the pot, the shrine, the fact it can't go out, and blood moon storage to cook as many critical meals as you'd like.

I was expecting the shield stats question to pop up, but since it didn't I'll ask it here :
Does the stat displayed by shield in-game affect the spin attack done by presing Y while shield surfing ?
In your shield stat video you mentionned how only the lynel shield could deal damage by parrying at melee range and criticized the guide book for that but it would make sense if it also affected the shield surfing spin attack.

I have three questions which I have been thinking and to my knowledge nobody has explained them so far:
1) What are the different getting-on-horse animations, for example: if you press the mount button, that is the standard animation, but if you backflip or side-hop or jump onto the horse there is a different animation.
Just a random thought, but I hope you can find the answer to this😊
Ps: I really love these type of vids and hope you continue this series! It’s crazy how much work you put into making these videos👍
3:02 so that's why I was being 1 shot by everything in master mode
I know you have two videos on shields already, but I would love to see a video on special properties of certain shields. Like, what does a kite shield do to midair combat, or what an ancient shield does with guardian properties.
how OP is bread compared to any other food?
very - one hit ko to anything it touches
Could you do a video about horse stats and locations, as well as the stats for the special horses and even ridable animals? I was mentioning this because I wanted you to talk about Link's Horse and how you can catch multiples of his exact horse from the memories which has it's own special set stats like the other special horses, but then I remembered how you can also find bokoblins riding bears in the Gerudo highlands. Horses being riden by bokoblins also have their own stat ranges, but are always spotted horses.
Here's a guide for Link's horse: gamefaqs.gamespot.com/switch/189707-the-legend-of-zelda-breath-of-the-wild/faqs/74764/links-horse

Slightly impossible to do without hacking, since you’ll always have one extra container when you leave the Great Plateau.

I believe i saw somebody in a playthrough take the large metal box and drop it on the lynel, it did a very good amount of damage and messed with the model of the lynel. What i concluded was
It has enough surface area to trap the enemy under it, and that the longer it is in contact with the enemy while in motion, it will calculate it as multiple hits.
3% every 1.5 seconds seems like a needlessly complicated way of saying 2% every second.
It’s not a constant rate of damage, they literally heal 3% of damage every 1.5 seconds.
I have more durability questions about weapons & bows:
-What if I swing a 1 or 2 handed weapon and hit nothing?
Hello There
General Kenobi
mad respect ✊
(When I put 4 high level ingredients it always maxes the duration for me
E. G. 4 Lotus Speed things + 1 monster extract = 30 mins speed up lvl III)
Maybe some of the calories is lost in the water that is used to prepare the food eg. When you boil a potato you tend to lose some of the calories in it.
Hence the duration is a bit reduced
My idea is so dumb

@@Croton good stuff as always, thanks Croton!
I would like to see a part two, so I'm letting you know in the comments.
Thanks for explaining the health regeneration on Master Mode, I was curious about that.
Hi just here to say please make a second part I really enjoy the info you give and way you narrate thank u
That's literally so fucking cool that arrows drop at the same level of gravity in BOTW as in real life.
PLEASE KEEP THIS SERIES UP I LOVE ZELDA MYTHBUSTERS
also, do movement buffs affect paragliding?
Thanks for the info. I would definitely like to see part 2
This was a neat video, love how thorough u are! ^_^
Also I'm not exactly certain how it works but dropping 3 monster extract + 1 apple into the motorcycle will completely refill the tank.
I usually put monster parts into the master cycle because I always have more of those than I know what to do with.
Thats fair!! They become pretty abundant haha
