  • The world of Breath of the Wild is filled with unknowns - there's so much hidden information about it's mechanics that have mostly went untouched to the players. Although I have spent the last few months trying to break these major elements of this game apart to share with you all (as a part of my Stats of the Wild series), I decided that this video would be composed solely out of the miscellaneous questions you guys have asked me directly to solve!! All of the topics in this video are much more bite sized than what I usually go over, so I hope you find the wide variety of info helpful!! :D

In reality, every material WITHIN the zones has a 1% chance of being restored each minute - as the zones only exist to prevent respawns if you are currently in them. Sorry for the confusion!!

      Me too. I'm surprised he said it's random, and I'm somewhat skeptical of that. I'm usually able to time my jumps just right so I can get a steady upward climb even in rain. I wonder if either it's a fixed moment from the first slip after a jump or if the supposedly random slips are actually fixed but dependent upon gear, making it appear random if you're not paying attention to what gear you're wearing when you measure it? I dunno.

    Hey there! From playing the game, I realized the within each of the gear you have, say 6 savage Lynel crushers with attack 106, it will organize it from durability. So if you have them all untouched , and you hit an enemy with one, that one will be sorted to the end of the crushers.

    I've taken a moment to look at the climbing, and from what I see, Link slips after 5 "passes". Each pass is how you'd usually count it. I.e: left arm + right leg up: 1 pass. Right arm + left leg up: +1 pass
    If you watch the slipping part again, you can accurately count 5 passes before he slips. I've been using this for a while to help, so I hope it helps you!

    One thing that I don't think I've seen anyone address; what causes sunshowers, aka those brief bursts of rain when both the sky and the weather indicator show that it's supposed to be clear? Are they completely random? Do they happen at certain times? Does previous weather (ie humidity from a rainstorm last night) have anything to do with it? And what determines the duration? It's the one part of this game that still vexes me. When the Sheikah Slate says it's not supposed to be raining, gosh darn it, _it's not supposed to be raining!_

      @draco4450 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    • @Agent-Ig

    • @nicocchi
      @nicocchi 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Yeah 5 hand grips matches the minimum time, which is an amazing visual indicator. Climbing speed buffs mess it up a bit though, since Link moves his body faster

    • @jenniferchough
      @jenniferchough 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Here's the deal: Without climbing set fully upgraded - Link will slip after every 5th arm reach up. With the fully upgraded climbing set gear, Link will slip after every 7th reach up. So, if you jump climb RIGHT before he does the last reach every time you will always have a +net gain. So, climbing in the rain with your fully upgraded climbing set on and 3 wheels of stam really doesn't stop you from going anywhere; especially if you have stam food too. The rain has ceased to be a problem when climbing after that point.

  • @CGaboL

    I discovered the arrow thing pretty fast when I was trying to farm for them to buy Ancient Arrows. With that in, I ran out of arrows on purpose hunting for monster parts and bought EVERY arrow I could find in every town (Kakariko, Hateno, Zora's Domain, Goron City, Rito Village, the Oasis Bazar, Gerudo Town and Tarry Town after getting the Rito to move in) and every Ranch to buy from Beedle and every merchant that I found and you get exactly, if my memory serves me right, 651 regular arrows. Plus, you can go on to catch arrows from enemies, as well as opening barrels, wooden crates and metal crates, not to mention all the treasure chests around Hyrule. On the other arrows I haven't made the count though.
    So, it's pretty easy to get arrows during the mid/late game, depending on how you're tackling it and how many rupees you have.

    • @SSM24_
      @SSM24_ 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Huh, 651 is _way_ higher than I'd expect - I would have expected 200-300 or so. But that might just have been me underestimating how many stables were in the game.
      The way I've been farming arrows is heading up the Zora's River path every blood moon - if memory serves, you can get a couple hundred per trip, and you don't have to wait until you have less than 50 arrows. Plus I personally consider that a lot more fun than going around and talking to every shopkeeper in the game :p

    One thing I do for climbing in the rain is jump every 5 times Link places one of his hands in the wall. Jump as he places the hand, slide down a little, then climb 5 times again, jump, and slip. Its worked pretty consistently for me so maybe it's because it resets the slipping timer, but it works for short climbs...

      Throwing a wepon at a monster will instantly break the wepon unless it is a boomerang in which it will take 1 durability off. When a wepon is thown at the ground it won't damage it unless it is badly damaged in which it will then break instantly.

    When you're climbing in the rain, at least from my experience, you slip either after that random amount of time has passed or right after you make a jump. If you jump right as you're about to slip, you can get a bit of extra distance.

    i'm particularly interested if the drop rates of materials vary when fighting enemies with different methods.
    from my experience, it seems that i always got better materials when fighting guardian stalkers with a weapon, instead of using quick and easy ancient arrows (i especially got more ancient cores)
    so i wonder if the game rewards skilled combat with more/better drop rates or some sort?

    If you are trying to get to max arrows, I have an easy tip that doesn't involve exploiting or glitching. even better you only have to do it occasionally. However, it does require a little bit of patience.
    For one, buy out every shop of their arrows, they can be found in almost all towns, and at every stable where you'll find beadle selling them. That should get you a decent amount. Step 2, remember that annoying path you had to walk up in the rain to get to the Zoras? The one you only traveled once because teleporting to the domain is just a no-brainer? Well, surprise surprise, the Lizalfos that make their home there have an absolute shitload of arrows. If you walk along the path and kill every lizard, you should have 100-150 arrows by the time you're done (they randomly drop either 1, 2, or no bundles on death). Revisit every bloodmoon and bam, even more to throw on to the pile. Just don't use too many between moons and you should be fine.

    Alright, if you're gonna make a part 3, I have another question/myth: Does using a weapon/item for something outside of its intended purpose (i.e. using a broadsword to break an ore deposit, or a hammer for combat) cause it to lose more durability per strike than normal? Because whenever i've done that my weapon does seem to break a lot faster than I remember... that said, it might just be because I happened to not be very observant of how much usage my weapon had left on those occasions, but one can never be too sure-

    • @Croton

    Climbing in the rain always makes you fall after a time interval (consistent, but not in synch with Links's steps) equivalent to 5-6 steps, or a jump, wichever one you do first. If you fulfill both those criteria at once, you still only slip once (slip distance is always the same as a jump).
    The best way to climb in the rain is to take advantage of this by making Link move 4-5 steps up and then jumping, since you fall back down from the jump, but still got to climb 4-5 steps before that.

Also, how far away can each monster spot you from, and how far away do you have to get for them to forget about you? In particular, how far can lynels snipe you from? (I would love it if you would answer either or both of these questions, but if you do, can you just show my first name?)
