What a great video, love the small bore stuff.
Thanks!
Key tip on the battery cable unhooked when working on the bike I’ll zip tie the cable out the way from the battery terminal there’s been a few times that cable sumhow made it to the battery terminal. It happens lol or I’ll just take the battery out I kno it’s more work but deff can save ur butt
For sure that does happen. I usually tuck them back so they dont do that but I have had that happen before lol
Good for youtube content those needy Super Models.
LoL. The chics!
Another great video!!! Love watching Beavis help!!!
Thanks Joel! LoL, its like he knows when I'm making a video lol
Heck of a great video, myself I'm on the fence about electronics on a 2t . Just not sure of long term reliability but that bike sure did sound very crisp, the owner will enjoy it for sure. Went old school this week and got a air cooled 2024 XR650L to try out in the desert. Not a race bike by anymeans but a low maintenance sand and rock bike.
Thanks for the video gave a great insight into the new KTM 2t. As for Beavis he had to try his best monroe pose by the fan 😂. Have fun at the new track. 🏜👍
Yeah I still like the carbed smokers better. If you noticed the stator had a magnetic grab on the crank about 6 spots per rotation. They surely use more engine power for all them electronics and it kinda robs the motor of that free feeling. Even at idle it feels like theres more of a load on the motor than a carbed bike. Thats why these KTM's went down on power since going to fuel injection. I wonder if they will sell a kit down the road to convert them back to carbed bikes for the racer that needs that last HP back? Congrats on the XR650. Them things are torquey! I did a carb swap on one for a customer, we put a CRF450R carb on it. That thing pulled HARD! Super reliable too. Cool dual sport for sure. LoL, Monroe pose lol. Yes sir you have a great weekend of riding too!
@@UpAllNight91 I had no idea that the electronic injection took that much more power to turn. I did notice you had a harder time getting TDC but didn't realize that was due to the EFI and stator. Learned something new. Thanks again for the video and would be interested in how that bike performs after your tuning.
A dremel tool with what I call the pencil attachment works great for porting. Dremel has a great assortment of stones, polishers etc. 🏜👍
@@bradley7723 Yes sir! I do have dremels and all kinds of attachments. They surely work well. That big die grinder I have mainly for V8 cylinder heads. That thing is NASTY! You gotta be paying great attention when using it. Pencil attachment, thats a great name for that.
Awesome video. They say first thing to do is undo battery. On the new bikes when doing top end. 👍
Thanks! That's right. I almost forgot on this one lol
Hi, great instructive video! Was wondering is it a KYMCO cylinder head?
Thanks. This bike had a stock OEM head on it.
Think I’ll stick with my carbuerated Yamahas lol
Agreed
Excellent video.
Thanks! 👍
Dang, thats the cleanest ive seen under the power valve covers, you clean it before video?
No, that's how they came out.
have done a number of ktms with the sealer. i rubbed versa tech clear on the base gaskets so it wont block the ports. its from the factory like that.
right on!
Hey Beavis do you mind? We want to hear this KTM fire up lol
🤣🤣🤣
yea solid sir. just did my 23 125sx too,Tpi tuning remap , Wossner single ring piston , massive difference, piston fried at 25 hrs !!!
Right on. 25 hours seems to be right on for the guy that owns this 125. But I would shorten it if it was a faster rider.
Did you put sealant on before base gaskets went down? Which sealant?
I dont use a sealant. I know from the factory they do but I dont find it to be a issue where its needed, the gasket seems to seal just fine by itself. Removes the chance of the sealant hanging over and obstructing a port.
Wiseco piston has only one size?
For the OEM bore size, yes. they dont offer a A or B.
do you have a link to the gaskets you used?
Hello. No I dont but I do have a video that can walk you through ordering all the parts needed. Here is a link th-cam.com/video/slOfGOMQshs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Lwn5VrheJ_h98XM2
Started having an issue with my 300xc tbi, Bogging/cutting out randomly…many things done, but I’m starting to think it’s a lean condition thats caused by fuel getting low. The pump pickup setup is not the greatest, especially in the xc models. I’m thinking air in introduced. I mostly ride track/jumps, maybe the sx tank design is better for that…
Hmm. I have one of them here now that the owner told me is doing what sounds like the same thing. However the owner also says the FI light is flashing. Havent gotten started on it yet but first thing I'm going to do is check the FI code and go from there.
@@UpAllNight91 you can get into the tbi’s to read codes? Hopefully you’ll share what you find, super curious what you think…
@@mark_Hershey On these bikes the FI will flash the code if its present. So I will still there.
@@UpAllNight91what do you have that can read the codes on the tbi’s? I’ve tried with dongles and obd2 adapters….nobody can seem to get in
@@mark_Hershey i honestly have done one of these yet. But on the SX and SXF models they have flashed codes at me on the FI light and its lead me straight to the issue. Are these different?
Did you say 25 hrs on a fresh rebuild?! How long do you plan on breaking that in? Or did I just hear it wrong?
Or do you mean the whole bike?
@@adambeltz6442 25 hours on the bike and original piston. I will have him ride it easy for the first ride to break her in easy and then he can let it rip!
Question I have a 2022 ktm 125 and it has 22 hours on it and I was wondering when I should do the top end on it
Hello. Depends on how hard she is being used. For a really fast rider on a 125 I wouldnt go longer than 15 hours on the piston. But for a very slow rider just using it in trails it can go 50 hours with no issues. An average rider somewhere in the middle, I suggest every 25 hours. I myself wont go over 25 hours on a piston on my own 125 at my skill level and how I'm using the bike. If you are unsure I would just do it at 25 hours and take note how the piston looks when you pull it out. If it looks great then you can extend it next time but if it looks toast then shorten it next time.
@@UpAllNight91 ok sounds good thank u so much
@@fusegodly7 Yes Sir!
I love Beavis hey do you work on bikes for people.
Yes sir! I work for my self in my little shop. It keeps me busy, monday to friday. And beavis keeps me company too, just gotta watch him though. He does like to attack when your not looking lol

Seams running rich
What size jet do you recommend? lol
@@keithalexander36 it’s a fuel injected bike, there’s no jetting it just sounds a tad rich
@user-ue3ku6qb3j I know just playing. That bike is always labored with the stator similar to a four stroke dragging the crank down all the time. Its actually a step backwards for a 125cc smoker.
@@keithalexander36 Yup, heck its not even a stator anymore. Its more of a generator
I got my tx 300 tbi with 80 hrs I’m on the top end do I use a piston A ? I measure the cilinder gave me 68 mm what do u think ?
Hello. The cylinder should have a A or a B stamped on it. I would look for that on the cylinder and just match it with that.
@@UpAllNight91 in where part can u find the letter ?
@@jwidmer Hello. Its often stamped on the bottom down on the outside of the sleeve area, You have to remove the cylinder to find it.
Damn; now they done complicated the 2 T
Thats the dam truth
Is resetting the power valve required
No, as long as you dont change any of its settings on the stop
@@UpAllNight91 Do you know where to get base gaskets for a 2023 husqvarna tc250 i looked everywhere and i cant find it
@@bushhboii70 Hello. For some reason they dont show anything for the 2023 TC250. But if you look for the 2024 TC250 its listed with all the parts. Try looking for and buying them for the 2024 TC250 and that should do the trick since its pretty much the same bike.
@@UpAllNight91 Which base gasket number should i order?
@bushhboii70 In this video, It is the same as with the 250. Order one of each the first time as you wont know which one or ones you need till you do the job. In the video I show how this is done
Curious why no honing?
Hello. You don't not hone a used nickle plated cylinder. The video that explains it best is on this link here... th-cam.com/video/vaFp8aYkHNA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=hdMCLDauaJjlCzrX
@UpAllNight91 thanks for the reply!!
Lats question, if you didn't do polishing, would you have removed the power valve or just swap the new piston in?
If the power valve is opening and closing good and its not gummed up, there is no reason to open it and remove it. Just swap in a new piston and its good to go
Pétard à air pour dévisser des vis diamètre 6??
Sorry, I dont understand?
Is resetting the piwer valve required
No, resetting is not needed as long as the power valve stop adjustment is not changed or touched
@@UpAllNight91Are there any other electronic adjustments needed when rebuilding these tbi 2 strokes?
@@bushhboii70 Only if you change the powervalve closing stop. Otherwise no.
