Hello Chef John from one of your new neighbors on Mill Šta. Rd. Thank you for this easy easy recipe for green beans. I will be making it for TG tomorrow. Best of luck with Kismet. Hello, Mr Chef John Sir, I just wanted to say that your videos have offered me great entertainment and knowledge value thus far so I would like to thank you for each and every one of them. I would also like to propose for you to create a playlist with your vegetarian recipes. I'm not consuming meat and that would help me a lot! Thanks again!
I made green bean casserole with homemade condensed cream of mushroom soup and it was amazing! I will try this for dinner one night, it looks easy. I will never use condensed canned soups again, you can make them yourself SO easy!
I love this guy and his recipe of green beans casserole Au gratin! I’ve been cooking this for almost every thanksgiving day dinner sometimes with added veggies like baby Bella Cremini ! Voila!
Green beans in France are the diet vegetable par excellence and this recipe is probably the most decadent I've ever seen for greens (sautéed in goose fat with garlic doesn't come close). Good fun, and of course I wanna try
I've made this dish twice since I first watched the video, and I have to admit that I have a new favorite way of cooking fresh green beans! I still make the traditional Greek green beans recipe which is delicious too, but this is a great change of pace. One thing I'd like to point out is that if you go with a budget variety of heavy cream, the sauce will turn out thinner. The flavors are still there, but it's more watery than creamy. By the way, I couldn't find Comte' cheese and used Gruyere instead.
Well is this delicious!! Yesterday I made Chef John's Ultimate Berry Crumble and the friend I shared a piece with asked me to make her a batch for her fam. And now I just made this dish and YUMMO! I used yellow sharp cheddar off the block and parm off the block and seasoned everything like he said. Both these dishes were so darn easy to make and I am just pleased as punch. Thanks, Chef!!
I don't believe I could make this luscious dish without adding mushrooms with the beans, or crispy shallots with the breadcrumb topping. Yummmm! Love you, Chef, please stay safe and have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Christine from Montana.
If you make your own mushroom soup for green bean casserole it makes a huge difference - even my brother in law, who finds traditional green bean casserole less than palatable, loves mine and asks for leftovers. But I'm going to try this because it makes my mouth water just looking at it - big plus: no canned fried onions required.
Wow! I was just yesterday looking for this recipe on Food Wishes, and didn't find it! There must have been something in the air, because here it is! Just in time, too.

This looks great. I made my green bean casserole by sauteeing whole mushrooms in butter and Worcestershire sauce. I removed the mushrooms. Added flour, cream, salt and dry mustard to make a white sauce. Minced the mushrooms and returned to the sauce with the green beans, then topped with breaded fried onions. It was excellent but I like your's because you only dirtied one dish!
this looks AMAZING. I'll have to try this next year (since I already bought all my usual green bean stuff for this year). Thanks for the great idea & recipe!
