You could do both in regards to more fun stuff or just showing the Nonideal runs. You could show moments from the runs that died then also have the main focus of the video being the ideal run.

The goal of a roguelite is to provide fun through variation. You have to make choices based on the constraints of what you find. This game is not that. You're not making choices, you're just getting frustrated you got your upgrades in the wrong order.
They should implement a meta progression upgrade to unlock rerolls/more options for the Character specific Upgrades. So lets say 2 levels (pretty expensive) and either adds +1 choice, so at lvl2 you have all 3 for your first character specific upgrade
I think your issues really fall upon your preferred style of video, Sifd. I'm sure you know far better what works for your channel compared to me, but you do have a tendency to prefer highly curated "awesome" runs versus the consistently "decent" alternative. I appreciate that about your channel and consider it part of your content's charm, but it does put a greater burden on you as the creator. Your commentary also tends to fall more into the "critical eye" category as opposed to more of a "wide-eye'd reactionary" style, which I know can also pose a mental and emotional tax on creators over an extended period of time. You could consider recycling some of your less optimal runs into larger "subscriber focused" compliation videos with a more relaxed commentary. There is a pretty reliable metric of viewers who just want bulky videos to use for background noise. Depending on how willing you are to go through the editing process, this might be a reliable way to increase the value of your time investment and reduce your personal energy expenditure. Either way, I wish you all the best and look forward to your future channel growth. Don't be afraid to experiment and try new things, especially if it makes your work process more enjoyable and sustainable in the long run.
i feel the same, i like the content, but sometimes it appears sifd just overextend for the ultra wild runs and sometimes dont chill and accept other moderate but good runs that can also be fun, i hope he doesnt burn out creating content

Yeah massive trade off items make or break a build, especially with the randomness the devs have them set. Like you said, if they weren’t trade offs it wouldn’t be as bad but it also wouldn’t make the builds as fun… I guess it’s like TBOI where repeated runs are necessary to get the build you want.
still believe they should take the monster train approach regarding the elites, each elite killed becomes a forge upgrade maybe for shana's paths could be something like this Intilligent: 1. next upgrade has doubled effect, exp gain + 10% 2. next upgrade has triple effect, exp gain + 30% 3. duplicate 1 current upgrade 3 times Hallowed: 1. adds shana's halo pieces to the pool 2. halo's stats are doubled (add another effect) 3. halo's stats are tripled (add another effect maybe) Visionary: 1. vision range +25%, glare tree effects scale over time 2. vision range +50%, pick up range doubled 3. vision range whole screen, slows enemies on screen, glare triggers 2x as fast of course everything needs tweaking (as ive just pulled these effects out of my ass), but its just an idea that i think would be really great as it specializes, unlike current's elite drops which is a hit or a miss, also players can pick and choose which path they want to combo with each other which could make a very interesting run imo
You weren’t off by calling them worms, these kinds of creatures would probably be considered wyrms due to the draconic wings, circular mouths ringed with teeth and wormlike body.
As a creator, you care so much about the content. I really appreciate that. Please don't burn yourself out, don't try to create *the perfect* video. You'll eventually get so tired of it. Do whatever you like doing. :3

hey sifd just wanted to say this here so maybe youll end up seeing it but I noticed in your last 20 minutes till dawn video there was an absolutely broken thing that happened with the lens and the ghost summon. the lens works MORE THAN ONCE so the ghost damage ended up being over 2000 damage per shot so if you keep walking through the ghost shot with lenses it infinitely stacks +30% damage and size so you should try to do a run where you just infinitely stack a large shot and one shot the bosses it probably works with piercing too so maybe with a batgun you could make an infinite bat shot that kills everything?
@@jamesmatthews8096 I didn't know if that timer is based on piercing however. Still though the ghost shots go long enough to do INSANE damage this way.
Here’s a very fun combo, the first elite you get the halo, then with the triple upgrade you pick up the halo, it is over 150% damage, attack speed, and reload rate. (It may not work now, but it was fun!)

I wonder if you triple one of the glare upgrades, you can just stand still for most of the game excluding the micro dodging of red enemy shots of course. So you could do a no bullets run which bans ghost and dragon but not dagger, lightning, glare and some of fire/ice upgrades which don't spawn bullets.
maybe after you beat the game for the first time you're allowed to choose which upgrades the elites give you but the elites becomes more like bosses themselves
It kinda annoys me how Sifd insists that Magic Lens is bad when really it's more just the middle two. The first upgrade itself is already busted and then the second upgrade just doubles thag brokenness. Like I get that Sifd doesn't like inflating his pool but at the same time it is annoying. Plus the burning upgrade still helps a wee bit and the bounce upgrade only hurts you if you have the grenade launcher (and even then if you have enough piercing it is very unlikely to bounce to you. Like when you have the Reaper Rounds upgrade since with Grenade Launcher you will likely kill the monsters in one shot if built well)
I challenge u to get triple Shana's Aura! Btw, I did the triple glare thing, 1 run I did the triple glare dmg, and the other with the triple time reduce. The time reduce is better.

That's fine. Giving them the option to make hazards the player has to avoid? Go ahead. But just making the enemies have bigger numbers is lazy and boring. Apologies about the rant; I know game design is hard, but I have... feelings... about this approach.

The creators of the games make these upgrades random for replayability, if you could choose any upgrade you want people would get tired of these games and stop buying them, it's bad business and bad gameplay, how many times would you have played the game if you could choose any upgrade for instance

Last time I played Shana I was on 3 hearts, picked up my triple and then totally forgot, then took miniclip for triple max health -1...

Sadly the batgun has a timer for how long its' shots can stay in flight before it just disappears.

Have you tried Nomad Survivors? It looks pretty good. I like the reroll system.
