There are many buildings in Gamla Stan older than the 17th century. Stockholm was founded in the 13th century and the oldest building still standing is from the 14th.
ABBA! OMG! Thanks for reminding me how old I am! Absolutely loved ABBA! All time favorite! But then again, I am 72! Thanks for not letting me forget! Lol! I stay young by following you two and enjoying travel thru your adventures!
Stockholm is such a beautiful looking city! For Swedish cuisine, we think first Swedish Meatballs and Lingengury sauce but the country clearly has so much more to offer. Amazing video as always!
@@octaviolove Lingon or lingonsylt could be just the (more or less raw) berries, especially in fancy style restaurants, but it's typically something between a jam and a sauce.
Fun fact about Urban Deli. They have three locations around Stockholm, and the reason they pair the store with a restaurant is to decrease food waste, and instead use the produce in the kitchen after a day in the store. They have decreased food waste by more than 50% that way.
Love that Beet Latte full of Christmas joy! 😂 Glad you stocked up on all the supplies for your secret surprise next destination. Great video y'all. Thanks for taking us along.
my honest opinion.... you guys are awesome, i follow a lot of couples like nate and kate, way away etc etc but you guys take it to the next level of a couple vlogin. love you guys!!!!!!
That striped "artwork" in the background at 3:15 is a "toppslätskivling" - A VERY powerfull psychedelic mushroom grown here in the wild in Sweden. Fantastic!
Cool, hip food is the way to go! Awesome that you both still decided to explore the awesome local dishes of your destination. Even better, glad you enjoyed and shared them.
I had the Swedish rolls for the first time last year in Malmo. I never had cardamon before but instantly fell in love. I actually would prefer it over cinnamon rolls. I find with cinnamon rolls, you need enough icing to make it palatable. Without it, tastes dry. With the Swedish rolls, I don't get that dryness and is actually in my opinion, better tasting with less sugar than cinnamon rolls.
Cinnamon buns are also very common here. But Swedes use a lot of (real) butter, and perhaps a little less sugar in buns and pastries than most anglo saxons do.
Fun fact. ABBA toured Australia in 1974. Where they were extremely popular. They dedicated Tropical Loveland to our country. No I was not allowed to go to the concert. I was thirteen back then. Ah well. Cheers guys.
Coffe is around 40sek the cocktails they mentioned started at 142sek and the small meals they had cost more than that, imo a bit expensive but you pay a lot for location/outdoor dining in sthlm just like in most capitals. If you want value and experince something unique i would go and buy a Swedish kebabrulle or pizza.
Stockholm is very expensive. I found it more expensive than Copenhagen. I wasn't very impressed with the food at least compared to Copenhagen. It is lovely though and the ABBA museum is fantastic.
You two just keep getting better. The scenery is always amazing, you add history facts, maps, little details that just make watching your videos so enjoyable. Thanks for sharing your experiences! Travel safe!
I spent about 24 hours in Stockholm about 15 years ago! We ended up going on a boat ride and wandering around a fun fair by the water and then found all the shops/restaurants in the area we were in were closed by dinner-time. We were a bit disorientated as to where was the "in" place to be on a Saturday night - but we loved our visit all the same! Really enjoyed seeing your adventures; that food looked delicious! :)
Glad Stockholm managed to make a good impression in just 24 hours! We didn't really end up going out at night, so we're not sure where to happening spots are either 😂
This is lovely! The market place and restaurant looks so nice! Your food looked so nice too! & before this I never knew Sweden was made up of many little islands! 🇸🇪 can’t wait to see the adventure you go on next!! :)
The map was great. Seeing all the islands of Sweden was an eye-opener. Thanks for the info. Love the Beet Coffee. Might give it a try if we can find the recipe.
